About 10 miles north of the North Carolina border, near where I-77 runs through. Up in the mountains, on a peak. Moved down here from MI, and I will always be a "yankee" to the locals, although I pass for one of the nicer ones. That's because I'm a good neighbor and mind my own business. Folks around here are super nice, and not just nice in front of you. It truly is like living in a different country sometimes. My "southern" is still not good, probably never will be. I occasionaly run into someone, usually older, that i can't understand one bit, and I have to have someone interput for me. Then I'm just a stupid Yankee. Although I will always get "Ya'll aint from around here", I love it and probably will stay forever.

Neither, but quality time with some people I love is certainly more than consolation gift enough!

I've seen about 25 Springsteen concerns over the past 40 years in various cities across Canada and the U.S. as well as in France. Have been to Asbury Park too. I'd suggest starting with the Born To Run album front to back. If you like that, I can give you a whole bunch of directions to jump into. If you don't like that, you'll at least be now familiar with what is considered by most (not all) to be his greatest album and four of his best-regarded songs (Born to Run, Thunder Road, Backstreets, Jungleland). As for politics, it doesn't make me think either more or less of him, I'm there for the music only, but I have found that at the concerts at which he makes a 1 minute rant against GWB in 2004 or now Trump in Europe 2025 it tends to bring the vibe in the arena down compared to when he doesn't.

Agreed. A Malloy type is a lot more necessary to have when you don’t have a productive Tork, a productive Javy, a productive Dingler, Vierling and Ibanez on the roster. This current version of the Tigers offense isn’t as desperate for RHH as it was last year. He’s definitely good to have for depth though.

Skenes very well maybe worth that much to some team or somebody but not to me he isn't and that's not a slight on him it's just the nature of pitchers and the way the game is trending. If we were completely loaded with great young up the middle players on our roster I'd probably consider it but with all due respect to Sweeney and Meadows I just don't think we are.

What's especially infuriating, is the child has been diagnosed with having fluid on the brain, and will likely be born, if he survives, with severe disabilities. The same mother****ers who claim to be "pro life" just voted to cut all the services this little boy will need to have any chance at life, Medicaid, SNAP, etc. Plus, the dead Mom's family will probably be billed hundreds of thousands of dollars for "medical care" for forcing their dead daughter to be an incubator. Hate is too kind of a word for these people.
