I feel that’s a strawman. The Democratic Party doesn’t exalt Clinton. He’s not their Reagan. That person is arguing against a point that isn’t being made.2 points

Last night was another data point on why you don't pay Duren. Harris not playing for whatever reason. Ausar ejected. Robinson out with an injury. Time for our guy looking for a big deal to step up. 0 points in the 3rd quarter. 0 points in the 4th quarter. 0 points in the OT.2 points

I care more about the sitting president, but my guess is if Clinton is still alive in 2028 he won’t be very involved.1 point

Yes, the dismantling of what was a superior and world renowned agency with respect to diseases, etc. will not serve our nation’s health and well-being very well, will it? But at least billionaires will get richer, so there’s that. 👍1 point

yup - this years flu vaccine missed a variant that was developing in the Souther Hemisphere but which is apparently now the dominant strain everywhere. I read recently that there has been quite a bit of progress in using mRNA methods for producing flu vaccine, which would allow the vaccines to be brought to the public on a much shorter time scale, i.e., before the virus has a chance to mutate as much - but of course the chances of this CDC/FDA fast tracking that tech is probably zero.1 point

OKC 1-2 in their last 3. New Orleans 3-0 in their last 3. The basketball world is upside down.1 point

Also wild and wrong that a team with a losing record from the NFC South will potentially get a playoff birth while an 11 win team won't make it in.1 point

Yeah, Waldon has a long way to go to reach the level of vitriol targeted at Henning and Hackosky from this board. Sometimes women are bad at their jobs just like men are.1 point

I'll say two things in Duren's defense: He's been durable, and he's only a month past his 22nd birthday. Well, maybe three - the year spent playing for Monty Williams was probably a waste of development time.1 point

I don't have a problem with the Tiger beat writers. I have a problem with Carlos Monnarez having a paying job.1 point

HaHa. Those humming birds are mean little critters though. You should watch them run off interlopers near their feeders. Those Tyrannosaurus Rex genes abide.1 point

Having watched maga for five years now, I feel like the benefits are hating who you want to hate and making the rich even richer. I'm struggling to think of anything else.1 point

Our beat writers and bloggers might be the worst in the majors. I can’t think of a single one that is even remotely good. For the record, Stavenhagen sucks as much as the rest. He’s just so damn vanilla it’s hard to muster up sufficient vitriol for it to register. Petzold may have exceeded McCosky in my hack index. Probably because he continued to associate with sportz for as long as he did, and now he’s a callow facsimile of his mentor.1 point

Somebody better tell me who to root for in the Packer/Bears game so I can be disappointed. 😅😅1 point

Agree on Beck. He is good. Reporters I can't stand are the ones in the business of creating news as opposed to reporting news. Classic Example: Buster Olney makes a comment that negotiations between Bregman and Tigers may have become "Nasty" because Harris (and Hinch) said the Tigers can win without Bregman. Several other reporters pick this up and say the Tigers will struggle to sign Skubal because he is also a Boras client. No first hand sources, no insider information, just reporters reporting on the opinions of other reporters. A certain Detroit Free Press writer comes to mind ...1 point

This just measures the time spent guarding each position. It does not reflect performance. Markkanen is #1.1 point

I would argue that a lot of people are nice to Waldon because she's a woman which makes some posters push back. They rail on Lynn Henning and Chris McCosky (Hackosky) all the time. There is a whole thread here dedicated to making fun of McCosky. Jerry Green was another one.1 point

Basically, I've been hearing the same old Bears song for about 35 years at least. They have the old race track in Arlington Heights. Either build it there or sell the property. The song and dance of pro teams getting the cities to build there infrastructure has got to go. Build it or sell the team1 point
