I should explain that (and can't seem to edit the post to add on). Players on split contracts (more in the majors, less than the minors) get pro-rated salary whether you are in the majors or minors. If the team gets healthy, more players will be on minor league splits instead of major league splits.2 points

the reason tanking is worse is because everything they have done to try to reduce tanking has had the result of increasing the number of teams willing to take a shot at the first pick. It's a counter-intuitive thing. Teams tank normally if there one player head and shoulders (in Wemby's case, literally) above the field. If they just went back to worst record gets 1st pick, there would one, maybe at least two teams fighting it out to be worst, and everyone else would play on because they know they have zero shot at #1. And the one team that tanked would get the player so it would be one time thing for them. The objective evidence is that the 'fixes' have all made it worse, but no-one figures out that the answer to that is dump all the fixes. It's the lottery itself that encourages more teams the take their shot at a ~10% (or whatever) chance.1 point

This is encouraging. We have reached 1939 'appeasement isn't working' stage of the conflict for the dem leaders.1 point

I don't really understand the logic of leaving Harris and Robinson on an island against Harden three times in a row. I'm not comfortable counting on my two worst perimeter defenders to win me a ball game against one of their best offensive players. Not a fan of letting Cleveland dictate how things would go down. The Pistons just switched so easy and then sat there watching our guys struggle. We should be dictating how things go. Stop switching or better yet, with a guy like Harden who has shown to be careless with the ball, blitz him and double him right off the initial screen.1 point

The Tigers are a very good team, we just need to get healthy. Pitching depth, or lack of, is really showing up. Once we get Skubal, Melton, Vest, Javy and Torres back, we'll go on a roll. We just need to survive the next month or so. Luckily, our division stinks. Chins up, it'll get better.1 point

I don't think it's a strategic move, but rather a psychological thing where he wants to keep news about Skubal as positive as possible at all times. I don't know who he's trying to fool, but isn't that how marketing works?1 point

Great tweet today that I read. Ted Turner spent 20 years making it easy for a kid in Montana could watch the Braves. MLB has spent 20 years making it harder for a kid in Atlanta to watch the Braves.1 point

can you even say the Tigers Threatened when there is so little chance they would have scored?0 points
