That’s fair. Foley has had his struggles lately. In general and for the season, I think Foley has been better. If the stats say otherwise, I’ll eat it. I still think the deployment that Hinch used was the right call. I will say, I was a bit disappointed when Olson was taken out. He was pitching well. He was close to the end of his day. I just wonder, if Canha converts the out at 1B like he should have, does he stay in the get the 3rd out? Kiner-Falefa is probably still at 2B in that instance.

I'll be the guy that wasn't impressed by only 3 runs in the 4th. Bases loaded with none out and the runs scored on a botched sac fly / error, a hit by pitch that got shoelaces, and an infield ground out. No actual hits to bring runs in. Just fortunate luck.

3B could use an upgrade as well. Vierling did have a decent start to the season, but doubtful it could last. Not enough out of the positions you mentioned, and then some of the better bats in April have vanished. Bad recipe.

It has been an awful May, no question. I don't think Patricia was ever this bad in May, but I could be wrong about that. The pitching, mostly the bullpen, has faltered and we know the offense is on an intermittent fast. I heard on one of the daily pods that Lange chucked a ball at the backstop after he was yanked from his meltdown in Kansas City. Cameras didn't catch it, so believe what you will. Hinch seems to have gotten more surly lately. I don't expect a manager to go all Earl Weaver or Billy Martin, a certain level of emotion besides lying about 3 straight kicks in the ass being competitive might be a nice message to send.
