  1. What happens at Jim Cowan's house stays at Jim Cowan's house.
  2. Me doing zero to help decorate the Christmas tree (nothing) results in an unhappy wife (something). Does that count?
  3. I don't know, I think No-Land means he's not a runner.
  4. And removed from the Astros during the best stretch in their history.
  5. They have a QB recruit named Air Noland. Let me repeat, a QB named Air. That's a good thing, right?
  6. Are we going to see fewer NFL draft hopefuls sitting out playoff games than we would if those teams were only participating in non playoff bowl games? That's probably more of a fortunate byproduct rather than an engineered outcome. Are we going to see a similar effect with players entering the transfer portal?
  7. Hall of Famer Jim Leyland Regrets Cussing Out Barry Bonds
  8. Let's not forget Robin Lund and Juan Nieves at the major league level, and the coaches and trainers in the minor leagues contributing as well. The pitching gets prepared enough to be deployable at the major leagues. But, to your point, it would be interesting to know how the Tigers handle pitching (and other aspects of the game). Pitching, for instance, is it a collective organizational work stream that is governed by Harris, Hinch, and Fetter? Are Lund and Nieves driving forces in the theory or in simply helping to carry out the work stream?
  9. Yeah, that’s true.
  10. I didn’t realize he was on the dirt that much last season.
  11. It sounds like Mookie Betts will be moving in from RF to be the Dodgers' 2B. I don't think OF moving in to the IF is all that common.
  12. No question, and I would think that's part of the reason for his enshrinement.
  13. I can see how this could be a tough call for Leyland. Thinking back to Sparky Anderson, part of his rationale for going with the Reds cap is that they gave him his first opportunity to manage an MLB team. I wouldn't find fault with Leyland if he decided to go with a Pirates cap for similar sentiments.
  14. SVG just doesn’t seem like the shiny object type.
  15. Leyland’s case is interesting. He finished at 1769-1728, only a .504 winning percentage. He won his only ring with the Marlins. He had his longest stint with the Pirates. His only tenure with a team that was a winning record was with the Tigers.
  16. He earned it today.
  17. He's right.
  18. Nope. I don’t get out much. Shocking, eh?
  19. Uhm….. I don’t quite understand any of this, but thanks for the response.
  20. Wrong thread, moran.
  21. Sure. Teams place different values on the same player. Maybe some team thinks more highly of him than the Tigers. And maybe that team has a position player and/or prospect that the Tigers value more than that team. It doesn’t necessarily mean that Manning won’t eventually develop into anything. Heck, if it’s an even swap that brings in a bat that fills a need and the Tigers can backfill a rotation spot via free agency, that’s a win for the Tigers.
  22. I don’t know about that. I think people simply feel like Florida State got screwed over.
  23. I don’t know. I kind of want to see Florida State end up as the only undefeated team now.
