I’m watching the Toledo Walleye game from last night. They fell behind 4-1 to Fort Wayne in the 1st and I almost turned it off. But I’m stubborn, I decided to stick with into the 2nd and see what happened. 6 unanswered goals later, my perseverance was paid off, 7-4 Walleye over the Komets.

I didn’t realize that was him. I picked up the game in the 2nd half and I obviously wasn’t fully absorbed into to the game.

And they’re not going to fix every pitcher. Anyone else notice Gregory Soto had his best season by far after leaving Detroit? Make no mistake, I think Fetter & Co are good at what they do. But buy broken & fix it up is not a fail proof approach.

I am optimistic he can become enough of a shooter that he needs to be defended honestly. It’s been brought up before that Cunningham needs shooters around him. Well, I think the same would work for Thompson. With his athleticism and his willingness to cut to the basket to rebound, it should work where, if they can get 3 shooters on the court, he can dive to the bucket without the ball while Cunningham handles it. Ideally everyone on the roster develop enough skills to the point where they are problems for the opponent in multiple facets. Take Stewart. He still needs work, but his 3 point shot is getting better. And please, for the love of everything holy, shoot from there rather than try to back your defender down from there, ok, Stew?

When U of Morality leaves the Big Ten, they can go to the MAC. They’ll have a conference schedule much like their preferred out of conference schedule, so that’ll be a plus. And ESPN will love having them on Tuesday/Wednesday night games late in the season.

I was watching this one live. Someone has a rough week of practice ahead of him. Of course, the obligatory end of 3rd quarter live interview with the coach, and the question was asked how they need to finish the game. The UW coach simply said taking care of all of the little things like holding onto the ball while crossing the goal line. Luckily for Washington, the defense scored a safety on the ensuing Utah drive (I think it was on first down), and the Huskies held on to win.

I hate projecting end of season records. But what the hell, why not add to the pile? Undefeateds OSU/Michigan is a classic, winner goes on to score bludgeonize the Little 7 West winner in the Big Ten championship game. Oregon wins a nail biter over Washington, both finish with 1 loss against each other. Florida State loses to Louisville in the ACC championship. Alabama defeats Georgia in a highly competitive SEC championship. Texas decisively wins the Big XII championship. Assume all teams mentioned above win out for the rest of the regular season and conference title games except for where their loses have been called out. It won't happen, but go ahead, pick 3 teams to join the only undefeated team (OSU/Michigan) in the playoffs. Those teams include one loss OSU/Michigan, Oregon, Washington, Alabama, Georgia, Texas, Florida State, Louisville. Did I miss anyone?
