  1. I realize that rolling out Cabrera and Ibanez and Maton as the DH is not exactly optimal. But I'm just not sure Knapp as a DH is an upgrade.

  3. Heck, they could try Nevin again since he’s already on the 40. Lipcius, Perez, MeadowsP, are also on the 40. So it would seem unlikely that they add Joyce now. It seems like Joyce’s only benefit ahead of those guys is his SS glove, and the Tigers should be fine with Baez/Maton/McKinstry.
  4. They have been inconsistent, true. He may turn out to be nothing more than filler. But if they’re done with Ibanez/Schoop and aren’t willing to promote Keith/Malloy or any longer term player, they could promote someone just for the short term, see what they can do in the meantime. If it’s nothing, they can be DFAd later on to make room for someone else, no big deal.
  5. Yes, there’s nobody to replace Schoop with right now. I don’t know if Keith is a consideration right now. They promoted Corey Joyce to Toledo rather than Keith. Could be Joyce has more AA experience. Could be Joyce is older. Could be Joyce also plays SS and Toledo needs that option. Maybe Joyce is nothing but minor league filler and he vs Keith isn’t a thing.
  6. Grienke's numbers compared to the hall of fame numbers. Its silly to me how darn near dead on they are.
  7. It will be interesting to see if draft fortunes change beginning with this upcoming draft.
  8. Sure, this is for the opposition. But it amuses me nonetheless.
  9. Tiger hitters missed the memo.
  10. Agree, it does make the regular season, at least with respect to the differences of record between the playoff teams, meaningless. I don't know how to address that. However, as of now, the system in place is the system in place, so that's what there is to deal with.

  12. Still considering the idea of going all battery for the landscaping toys. One of these days I'll do it. Maybe.
  13. There are examples, and then there are kick your memories in the nuts examples. This would be the latter.
  14. Oh, come on SF, you know better than to assume that.
  15. Yes. They were also able to overcome a bumpy start and losing the lead twice. 2 of 3 vs Kansas City and 3 of 4 vs underachieving Chicago would put them at 25-26 going into Memorial Day. 15-36 seemed more likely at the beginning of the season.
  16. Well, they're going to have plenty of time to kill in between the conference finals and the league finals.
  17. It probably has a lot to do with the current cycle of abysmal suck that the team has been in for the last several seasons, but nothing is ever said about retaining Rodriguez. It is both understandable and frustrating.
  18. Sorry about the faulty date, hope you still caught the game.

  20. Keith has basically a full MLB season in his minor league career. Not exactly a scientific projection, but it is encouraging. Also of note is that he's been younger than his competition.
  21. Looking forward to seeing secret weapon Udonis Haslem lining up against Nikola Jokic in the finals.

  23. Oh, I’m fine with giving him more rope. I think part of his issue is that he’s still building stamina as he didn’t go too deep down in Toledo. Here’s part of the problem for the Tigers, though. They’re already dabbling into the 7th and 8th SPs and ain’t much more available. The outing he tossed might be good for an 7th/8th SP, but it’s certainly not league average. And then tack on Wentz struggling again today. There’s nobody in Toledo worthy of calling up. If one of the current SPs has to miss a start or, God forbid, plural starts, they’re probably going to have to see what Randy Wolf is doing these days.
