  1. Detroit Tigers vs Miami Marlins Watch: Marlins - Bally Sports Florida, Tigers - Bally Sports Detroit Listen: Marlins - FOX Sports 940AM (WINZ), WAQI 710, Tigers - 97.1 The Ticket, WXYT 1270
  2. They are 4 games and 4 teams (the teams may be the biggest hurdle) out of the playoffs. I would expect the Angels to make more moves. Is there a copy & paste of Norris for Olson available here for the Tigers? I don't fault them for going for it. It isn't just about the playoffs next season. Keeping Ohtani around to build around may be the bigger goal. But their mistake isn't necessarily going to be how they play this trade deadline. Their biggest mistake is how they haven't been able to put a playoff team on the field in the 6 seasons that Ohtani (and Trout) have been around.
  3. His OBP is still comfortably below .300. Not good. Its actually slightly lower recently than the past year.
  4. Looks like round 2 is headed that way you amateur weather hacks.

  7. Tremendous. This sounds like your avatar.
  8. Well, I guess I’ll just sit outside and watch stuff fly around tonight.
  9. Deuce probably knows of some family friendly brothels.
  10. Did you send a stenographer to take down copious play by play notes or did the simple scorecard suffice for your needs?
  11. Nice. Great point, I had forgotten about that.
  12. I recall pouring over stats in the Sunday papers. The league qualifiers were sorted by AVG and ERA. Seems so primitive. And Baseball Weekly (makes sign of the cross), God bless the old Baseball Weekly arriving on Wednesdays. Those stats were almost a series too old, but damnit if they weren't worth studying anyway.
  13. Birthdays were special. Peanut butter and jelly on the same sandwich, not just one or the other. Oh man, that was living like royalty even if it wasn't Wonder bread.
  14. It'd be interesting to see that in terms of percentage of available spend.
  15. Harbaugh might be the guy to bring this up, too. I honestly hope he does.
  16. Wouldn't we like to be a fly on the wall of those discussions?
  17. That's interesting. I thought I saw the Rays are on Lynn's no trade clause along with 9 other teams. Obviously he could waive that.
  18. Dude, its 26. Get with the times, old man. 😁
  19. Oh, there's some movement available there. The back half is in flux until roster spots are decided for next season. If they were to makes moves such that Torkelson and Carpenter get shoved down to 5th & 6th with Baez and Rogers 7th/8th/9th, that'd slap. (Do the kids still say "slap"?)
  20. Bread wrappers over your feet before you put on your moon boots. The upper crust wore the national brand names. My 'hood was full of store brand bread wrappers.
  21. Ah, OK, I didn't realize the rain might be as early as 2pm up there. I glanced at it, what I saw was similar to down here which is mostly evening hours.
  22. Maybe OF/DF becomes an arrangement of Greene everyday and then the starting lineup for the other 3 spots come from among 4 or 5 others based on matchups, who is playing well, offense/defense, whatever. And as we've seen, even if one of the 1 or 2 others isn't starting that game, they're on call. The other thing is that maybe this group is an opportunity to put Greene in a corner or DH more often if Meadows can hold his own in CF and at the plate.
