I didn’t notice it before, but look at that hat. One of the features of ball cards of that era was primitive photoshopping (before basic photoshopping). I’m sure given the nature of Seattle Pilots’ late move to Milwaukee, there was probably an inordinate amount of touch ups for that set.
Torkelson's spray chart.
Just looking at it and comparing to the batted ball percentages from baseball reference, it seems like Pull% should be higher and Cent% should be lower.
One of the complaints about Torkelson is that he doesn't elevate the ball enough. The GB% kind of jives with that. That blob of outs to SS/3B does seem familiar to those that watch the games, doesn't it?

Oh, sure. The Tigers win one in a row and suddenly Mother Nature decides, whoa, hold on, we cannot have any of these shenanigans going forward. An absolute traveshamockery, this rainout.
Well, it was probably a little obvious given the usage of the bullpen heading into today. I don’t know how the weather will play out, but it probably wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world to have a doubleheader tomorrow and take advantage of the 27th man for the day. The day off on Thursday allows them to get things back in order a bit, too.
That's pretty well said. The metrics are an accumulation of historicals and may highlight tendencies. But certainly aren't automatics and probably not to be relied upon in all scenarios.
Yes. And its not exactly his fault he was probably promoted too early and had to learn part of his craft on the fly with insufficient coworkers surrounding him.
