Faedo probably about as good as could be expected. Defense with a let down inning. They’re still in it, but the offense needs to show up. Alexander eating most of the rest of this game would be great. An almost completely available bullpen to start the Cleveland series with a day off after that would be very beneficial.

Ok, got a scratch on the board. Tighten up the defense, hopefully a quick inning for Faedo, and get another scratch next inning.

So, they just showed the Javy Baez sunglasses giveaway game promo and Baez was actually in the commercial. Was he ever featured in a solo promo last season where it wasn’t a game clip?

Yup. I think the service time here is a coincidence rather than a driver. Another season of control might be a benefit. Looking out that far at the potential salary liabilities, if the timing of Turnbull’s last season is enough of a concern to stop the service clock, then this team has a bigger problem to deal with.

Nothing is going to happen during this generation of powerful political officials unless a significant number of them lose loved ones to gun violence. Hell, even then it might not matter when you consider how many of them completely brush off January 6 as a field trip of patriots.

Kind of like a Jose Macias type of defensively (who wasn't all that good defensively but found time at 2B and 3B)? For some reason that comparison struck me yesterday. And maybe he's not necessarily all that good if he's been moved to the corners by now.

BB% has gone from around 8% in April to 5% in May. SO% has gone from around 28% in April to 20% in May. Or, I guess another way to look at it is that balls put into play per plate appearance have gone from around 64% to 75% over the same time frames? There's a bit of noise in there from hitters safe on errors, baserunning outs, HBP, etc, but I wouldn't think it drives off of the 64% or 75% all that much. A better base running team than last season putting more balls into play lately. I'm a fan.

It'd be nice to sweep. But this series is in hand. A 6th/7th/8th type SP is on the mound. Its a getaway game. The next series is in the Tigers' personal house of horrors in Cleveland. Hopefully today is competitive to keep that feeling going, Faedo can get into or through the 6th and the bullpen doesn't get too taxed. Don't look now, but the lineup has been picking up its end of the bargain to go along with the bullpen. Keep that going into Cleveland. Keep winning series.
