  1. Sure, just like they were going to dismantle Texas, Texas A&M, Tennessee, LSU, Ole Miss, and Austin Peay.
  2. I don't think so. It'll be Georgia at 1 and Michigan at 2. I think we can all agree on that happening. I believe TCU will be at 3 as they lost their only game, the 13th game, a championship game, in OT. TCU also beat Kansas State earlier in the season. So, they did beat everybody in their conference and on their schedule. Ohio State's loss is to a better opponent than TCU's loss was to, but that loss was at home and the game was in hand before any OT was needed. Perhaps one of OSU's wins is better, but the loss stands out. I'm not convinced who will be at 4.
  3. Any ranking with Alabama in the top 4 cannot be taken seriously.
  4. The interesting case would be what if they kept the lead in Salt Lake City and then lost this PAC12 championship game in a similar manner? Then we're talking about USC in 2nd/3rd heading into this weekend, but solidly remain top 4 in spite of the loss because of the additional game argument with the Williams' injury tacked on. Who knows, maybe they still stay top 4 because of those reasons? Essentially we're talking the difference of 1 minute of play in 780 minutes in the season for USC. Think about that, their bowl assignment is possibly swung by 0.128% of their season.
  5. Memphis Grizzlies vs Detroit Pistons
  6. 4. How does Toledo sneak into the playoffs after winning the MAC championship?
  7. I’m sure it’s a long shot, but Brian Reynolds has requested a trade out of a Pittsburgh. He has 3 more seasons of control through what should be his prime seasons and that’s an organization that can make mistakes. I don’t know what Scott Harris is doing right now, but I’d hope he’s chatting up the Pirates about how he has some quality pieces to move.
  8. Ok, so the current system isn’t perfect, and even the bump to 12 playoff teams won’t be perfect. But isn’t it better than when only 2 teams advanced to a championship game and an undefeated Auburn was left out of it? Heck, even before that when there was no system to automatically match up a 1 vs 2 in an end of season bowl game, that kind of seems like ancient history anymore.
  9. One team had at least one player prepared for that situation. The other did not.
  10. 10 point swing on one play. That Georgia kid was so wise to keep his knees off of the ground as he looked at the sidelines. He probably should have just scooped it and ran, but at least he didn’t head off elsewhere for a celebration.
  11. Nope, I’ll never root for him or whatever institution he represents.
  12. Maybe. Maybe not.
  13. Yes, correct, there’s no reason OSU should be ahead of TCU.
  14. Hmmmm…. And I assumed the diarrhea last time was from the PBR.
  15. Back when we were all so young and innocent.
  16. You know what the upcoming new playoffs needs? A couple of midweek play in games hosted in Dayton to determine the 11th and 12th seeds. 11 vs 14 on a Tuesday and 12 vs 13 on a Wednesday, winners advance play vs 5 & 6.
  17. At this point, does Smith-Njigba risk his draft stock with further injury? Honestly, I don't know what his draft stock would be right now, so maybe he needs another season of play. Henderson/Williams had the potential to be a dynamic duo, but they couldn't stay on the field long enough. Looking at the stats, I am shocked that Henderson was dressed for 10 games and Williams was dressed for 8 games. It seems like they alternated availability to the point where it was every other game. It was probably only that one or the other was pulled from the game by halftime due to injury.
  18. I am annoyed by a majority of OSU fans. The litmus test starts with Urban Meyer.
  19. Just venmo me a share of the royalties. I'll have my peeps contact your peeps.
  20. I think the end of times would be an UoM vs OSU rematch in the championship game. I also think TV stations in the SEC area would elect to broadcast Hee Haw marathons rather than pick up the live feed of the game.
  21. Stop using reason to kill the shock jock radio hot take.
  22. Oh to be 34 again....
  23. Wow, it doesn't seem like that'd be true, but that be true. I knew he was drafted by the Hawks, but I thought that was when they were still in St. Louis.
  24. Well, the same could be said about out of conference scheduling, but that isn't something some folks want to discuss.
  25. There's more than sample size for the 2020 season. There was a lot else going on besides the season length that make it so out of the ordinary. This isn't to suggest everything about 2020 was randomized results. I think 2020 makes sense in an evaluation if it is a reasonable bridge from 2019 to 2021. If it is an outlier, it could be that there is already a degree of inconsistency by the subject of the evaluation to begin with. Taking another look at Candelario specifically, I think its reasonable to assume his 2020 success was likely a hot streak. His career normal HardH% mid to high 30s% jumped up to 47% and his BABIP of .372 were pretty likely not going to follow for a full 162 game season. At the same time, his early 2019 was dismal and there was a demotion to Toledo at one point. Looking at his second half OPS of low/mid .700s then, 2020 was an absolute spike up, and then 2021 was a more normal HardH%, a bit of a high BABIP, it stands to reason that coupled with his age, 2022 was an absolute unexpected clunker from which there could very well be a rebound from in 2023. I think sports fans love to be too decisive one way or another too much. I think there's a pretty reasonable debate to either side on whether or not Candelario was brought back. I think the decision is a lot more gray area than black or white. The ultimate decision has to be black or white. It is interesting to me that Harris comes with a reputation of reclamation projects, called out the Tigers' need for a LHH IF, and then Candelario's arbitration $7M price tag is dumped. It seems curious to me, but its also early in the offseason.
