  1. The exchange happened in the battery aisle?
  2. Probably just a planned off day. They need to manage to the season, and so a day off with the series in hand vs a LHP (which admittedly is only a minor concern here) in not so wonderful weather is fine. He's available if needed. If not, pick his spot to enter the game. Either way, there's a little mileage saved.
  3. Well I guess my coffee hasn't kicked in yet. Which, hey, speaking of tariffs, let's see how that manifests itself in higher costs for Starbucks consumers. Unless President Spray Tan has lined up coffee bean growing somewheres in the USA, that ought to get attention, right?
  4. Bane and being outrebounded (which limited their ability to run) kind of killed them, too. But, Cunningham was working through rust. He, Beasley, and Hardaway struggled with shooting. I'm going to need to start wearing a football helmet watching Reed play. The only 3 point shot he should attempt is at the end of the clock.
  5. It was probably just an attempt to buy any extra votes from anyone that earn tips and/or overtime, nothing more than that. Look, he also promised lower prices at the grocery store. Its not happened yet and its going to go in the opposite direction with these tariffs.
  6. They should take it out to their defensive position for the next half inning.
  7. The reasoning seems to imply errors are only granted for physical events rather than mental events.
  8. Just need a healthy Meadows. I'm a bit worried about that part.
  9. Come on, Lee, you gotta apostrophize that.
  10. I think spring training bought him some time in an otherwise likely dump him before 2025 season is over scenario. This outing where they had to burn Vest isn’t going to sit well. This outing against a hapless Chicago lineup isn’t going to sit well. I liked his acquisition, I thought it made sense. But he may be done as a major leaguer. I appreciate him changing his off-season regimen to account for his poor 2024. I was hopeful that would help him this season. And his spring seemed to encourage as well. Maybe it was one rough outing, but he’s at a point where he can’t have many of these.
  11. I see you, chasfh. I see you.
  12. I want to say I remember watching that final game, a Sunday game, and a Mariners fan jumped onto the top of the Tiger dugout with a broom and started joyfully sweeping.
  13. Could’ve swore I had this in the season predictions thread.
  14. Maybe, maybe not. Keep in mind what we see on TV is different than what he’s seeing from his angle. Although, I do wonder if he played very conservatively given his foibles earlier in the game. Plus, weren’t there 0 outs? Struggling pitcher, they probably didn’t have anyone warming up. Yes, the next 3 hitters aren’t exactly awe inspiring, but bases full with none out? I like the odds of getting a point there.
  15. Where’s the thread author when you need him?
  16. The whippersnappers in the league office probably refer to your generation as “the complete gamers”.
  17. They still have to go 27-5. 27-5 is a helluva month. And they’ve already got 8-0 in the bag. That 35-5 is just incredible.
  18. I suspect they might have had the option of playing a Thursday home game, but since they’re traveling from Seattle, they opted for Friday. That’s fine. This opening series being against the Jerk Sox, they can make up lost games as double healers or maybe common off days later on in the season.
  19. I fully understand it’s that same drive that makes him an effective if undersized big. But Stewart’s got that reputation now and too often crosses the line. How do they get some of that defensive acumen into Duren’s game? Just a smidge of basket protection.
  20. The hat makes him look creepy.
  21. He hasn’t by now, so what do you think the odds are that he will?
