I think you can break the Lions ownership into era's. The Russ Thomas era where they were clearly not even trying to win. Thomas' old school pre-free agency GM style ran off good coaches, scouts, and players. Then in the 80's they began to try, but WCF was so inept he failed constantly. It didn't help they would jump from a players coach in Fontes, to a crazy dictator type in Bobby Ross. Then back to a players coach in Mariucci, and so on. When it came to finding a GM they had no idea what they were doing, and resorted to having a league dinosaur do it for them. And he had no idea how to assess how a GM was performing which explains how Matt Millen lasted as long he did. What I believe, or hope, is different now is that first WCF is gone. Second the new owner understands she is not football savvy and brought in a football guy, Speilman, to oversee the operation. Not an accountant, a Ford Exec, drinking buddy, etc. So if a GM is failing he can spot that quicker and not give bad GM's 5-7 years to run the team into the ground. And hopefully instill a culture and retain good people and weed out those that don't perform. It may not work but it can't get worse.

Passing on JOK irritated me too. Thinking about it though, do the Lions have a spacebacker in their base defense? They have two inside LB'er's and two edge guys. He is too small for those positions. And they like to play the safety's deep it seems, he might not have the ball skills for that position. They just might not have seen him as a good fit.

He should be able to play at some point in 2022. Hopefully the Rams get bounced early and he is there in the early 20's. He fits a need so well they should consider moving up for him, or Wilson, if it makes sense.

I think he at least proved he is a legit NFL head coach. He had some rookie missteps but overall he did a very good job IMO. Probably the most encouraging thing was when he saw the offense failing under Lynn he: 1 had the stones to replace the veteran OC and not create a distraction 2 had the ability to correct the problem himself We'll find out if he can lead a team to the playoffs and win but so far so good.

I was just in the ATT store this past weekend. The price for the package which includes Bally's is going up $10 later this month to $92. I will pass at that price. I have had most if not all of the other major streaming services at one time or another and there really isn't much difference between Hulu, YouTube, and Fubo for the basic sports packages price wise and channel wise. Just find the one that has the channels you like most. Sling is a bit cheaper but doesn't include local channels. I am going to get an old school antenna to get local channels. I had the indoor antenna and got about 25 channels. I just got sick of having to move it around the room every time the wind blew.

I still think if they like one of these QB's they need to maneuver in the first round to get him. If they don't so be it. I wouldn't burn a high pick on a QB that has too many question marks. But if they like Howell or Corral they need to trade up or down and make the pick.

No matter when they pick a QB, that QB will come without a guarantee. I just disagree with the notion that waiting until next year to draft a QB is no big deal. If that one fails the Lions will again be out looking for a QB and by then 3-4 years will have elapsed and they still won't be winning. Plus it sends a pretty bad message to fans if they roll out the same QB's as this year. Getting the pick right is most important obviously. So if they have to wait because this years crop doesn't impress them then so be it. Campbell inherited the worst roster in the league and has had about 15 starters run over by a truck and he is still crying after losses. He wants to win and will be on the get a QB now boat I'm sure. There is also the trade route, but Goff counts so much against the cap it's hard to see how they could bring one in and not have about half their payroll going to one position.

I got my Pfizer booster last Tuesday and had chills, body aches and a fever over the weekend. I was fine up until then, just very mild soreness in my arm. I may just have the seasonal flu, although I had that shot too. I went to a drive through test site Tuesday and haven't received the results yet.

If they like a QB in this draft they need to get him. Waiting until next for a QB they might like better is not a good plan. The risk that Holmes takes is if they wait until after year 2 to get a QB and that one falls short of expectations he's 3-4 years into his regime and still doesn't have a QB. He would most likely lose his job. He has a little more room for error if he takes one this year. Plus it will be tough to go into next year with the same QB situation as this year and get fans excited. If none of these QB's coming out this year impress them then they should pass.

If the Lions take a QB it will most likely be at 25 or whatever opposed to 33 due to a first round pick having an extra year of control. If they like one of these QB's they need to make an effort to move up down or whatever to get him at the appropriate spot. They desperately need a QB and waiting until the 2023 draft is not a good idea for a myriad of reasons, the least of which they will have no idea where they are picking.

Is there that much at a difference between Goff and Cousins? I think if Goff had the weapons that KC has he could look like an average QB also.

Whichever one of them were playing the Lions were still going to have a bad QB on the field.

Where i work here in Michigan my company is preparing for the mandatory masks for the not vaccinated rule to potentially go in affect next month. So the 2 HR ladies were going over the memo to be posted with about 20 salaried employees. As they were going over the memo they referred to Whitmer as Governor Whitless, and suggested she is going beyond the federal regulations because she expects to lose reelection and wants to get appointed to the Biden cabinet. I said "maybe she is trying to save lives?" From there the whole thing turned into a shouting match and the meeting was cut short. The Trumpies were shouting "the good states aren't doing this !" And calling Whitmer a political pawn of the president. All because they have to wear a mask for a while. It's embarrassing.

Under nearly any model if the the organization drafts and develops well they can sustain winning and move from one core to another without going through a painful rebuild that takes 3-5 years. Since the Tigers have been horrible at drafting and developing since Jim Campbell retired they have had to go through many multi year periods of suckage. Put a clown like Randy Smith in charge of the rebuild and it can take 10.

Wilson is 17 and Olave is 22. Wilson is the top ranked WR.

With the release of Wells and Williams, Holmes and co. first free agent and trade class sure is a dud. There are few long term ramifications but you'd not like to see a class that could be confused with a Bob Quinn off season. Offense - At WR Perriman didn't even make through camp and Williams gets injured and doesn't contribute at all. At TE the Lions first choice retired before camp so they scrambled to sign Wells who only lasted half the season. Jamaal Williams has been pretty good when in the line up. And Goff seems to be a grossly over paid back up level QB. Defense - In the secondary Marlowe isn't contributing much and Dunbar strangely didn't report. So they signed Elder who didn't make the team. Anzalone has been solid at LB. Brockers, who they traded for, doesn't seem to be doing much. Not promising but aside from Goff they were mostly one year deals.

Great glove and a non zero at the plate. I like it too. Plus his number one comp is Les Moss, so his is a future manager too.

Yea, 80/1000 comes out to about 5 catches for 60 yards a game. He doesn't have games where he goes off.

This was a bad 5 win team when healthy and they have been devastated by injuries. The only Quinn first or second round picks that have been playing, from the last 5 drafts, are Hock and Swift. And they have the most dead money in the league this year. Next year they will have some money to bring in free agents, 3 top draft picks, plus they will be getting key healthy players back. Even with Goff they could be around a 500 team.

They are cutting Flowers post June 1 and either cutting Vitai or restructuring him. After that they should have about 55 million to spend. Enough to bring in WR and a corner.

If Houston trades Watson this year, whatever team he goes to will be that much improved and thus the picks Houston would be getting in return will be worse. It makes more sense for them to wait until the off season and deal him.

Michigan has talent. Both lines are legit with a few NFL players on them. Ross is an all conference level LB'er, and they have speed at WR'er in Johnson, Wilson and Baldwin. They just again have an average QB and potential exploitable weakness somewhere else. If the corners don't get burned and McNamara doesn't have a John O'Korn level game they will win.
