I would trade for him AFTER this draft. I don't know if the Rams could pull their trade of Ramsey (if they go that route) this draft (probably)... and I think they'll be able to pull at least a 1st rounder out of him... But I would love to run this draft, and THEN trade for him, so that the draft capital going their way starts in 2024, instead of 2023... Just my 2 cents.

I remember hearing a lot of CSN and CSN&Y on WRIF and WLLZ, back in the day... but not Crosby standalones that I can remember. A huge amount of Neil Young solo but he was a supreme solo artist in my book. Not quite so much the others. Did they play a bit of Stephen Stills...? I don't remember. So I concur.

I disagree with that assessment. (Oh you KNEW that one was coming... right?)

Sell, sell, sell. Sell off unnecessary parts at the deadline. But knowing Stevie... he may be of the mind to both buy and sell at the same time. I look at trading Criscuolo as a buy trade. He got a young 24 y.o. big winger who has "some potential upside"? Not sure how much, if any... But if he's looking to both buy and sell... Who does he want to buy?

International cooperation and security.

I remembered that. Just not verbatim.

The Kyiv Independent news desk Thu, January 19, 2023 at 12:28 PM EST·3 min read Nine European nations have signed a joint statement known as the Tallinn Pledge, committing to providing Ukraine with the support that it needs to liberate all its territory currently occupied by Russia... German arms manufacturing company Rheinmetall is reportedly ready to supply 100 battle tanks to Ukraine if the government approves, according to Handelsblatt, citing sources in the industry. The company is ready to provide German-produced Leopard 1 and 2, as well as British-made Challenger 1, which Rheinmetall would buy from Oman and upgrade before sending to Ukraine. Yet Germany has refused to send modern tanks to Ukraine, fearing "escalation", despite Poland and the U.K. both breaking the taboo of providing Western-made tanks to Ukraine. Chancellor Olaf Scholz said during the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting in Davos on Jan. 19. that Germany would only provide Leopards to Ukraine if the US provided native M1 Abrams tanks first. Responding to Scholz's comments, Pentagon deputy press secretary Sabrina Singh said that "it doesn't make sense" for the U.S. to send Abrams tanks "at the moment". I have a different US response: Send 4-8 Abrams to Ukraine now. It breaks the ice for Germany. They don't have to actually use the Abrams, at least not right away. They are not stupid. Send them to Ukraine with the agreement that they will not use them until a later date. When they have the time to do proper training. For now, keep them west of Lvov, near the Polish border. At the end of the summer, after they've kicked Russia out of Ukrainian territory, they'll have the time to train, to understand the difficult logistical support that the Abrams requires, and how to utilize them in a mixed military filled with all manner of weaponry supplied from all over western civilization. But this easier than rocket science to me: just break the fucking ice and stop letting Germany use the lack of Abrams sent to Ukraine as an excuse to block the sending of hundreds of German Leopard tanks that Ukraine needs to fight Russia and every country wants to send them... IMO.

He is way too small for that. He will be crushed/ worn out/ rendered ineffective by the NFL running game and very, very large OT's.
-
But... That would be hypocrisy if that were not true...!!!

No. They went off board specifically because of Boras's recommendation. I don't have the smoking gun evidence but... people are sayin'...
-
I feel exactly the same way.

I relayed that exact conversation just above (pg. 165).

Not yet anyways...

I'm intrigued. Based on this, I could live with AG getting a HC opportunity. And getting in Richard. I like the idea... I'm even more intrigued. I think this is a really good draft to have extra/ early picks.

So far so good. A+

This is exactly what I am thinking/ seeing with those two. The highest players on my Lions draft board are: #1 Myles Murphy #2 Brian Bresee #3 Tyree Wilson. I actually have Carter higher/ highest except that, if he has motivation/ attitude/ doesn't LOVE football issues then he'll be off of Holmes & Campbell's draft board immediately. So I think the top 3 I listed above stand.
-
I also wouldn't be surprised if they select 2 CB's in 2023 but I don't believe the #6 pick will be used on one. There are a couple issues: 1) There are 5 "elite" prospects, not necessarily because they are elite but rather: QB'a are the big demand and end up in elite draft pick spots regardless whether they are worth it or not. So Stroud, Young, and Levis. Then there is Anderson and Carter, even if there is personality issues (might not "love" football/motivation, etc...). 2) After that, a lot of prospects with similar grades that result in not much trade down demand. So I am arguing against a realistic possibility to trade down out of #6. Which means, IMO, that #6 goes towards the best D-Lineman they evaluate (Murphy, Bresee or Wilson... maybe Carter if he falls to them?). As all those guys will be rated higher than the CB's, IMO. So #18 should have a choice of half a dozen premium CB's, whoever falls and is available. That's one. In the 2nd and 3rd round we have 3 picks, but I like the RB's, LB'ers, and Safeties more than the CB's that are available in that area. I think the Lions end up the same. I think in mocks that I've run I found a project CB or two that were available with our 5th/ 6th round picks that I liked. As well as O-Lineman, Kickers, etc... There's your second drafted CB. Another late round project. But I'm just guessing. You know who I want as a second significant CB that we obtain this offseason? The best veteran that we can buy as a FA. But that's just me...

No I saw the 90's pictures of Carroll and she actually was a looker. I think it would be easy for TFG to get confused based on that alone.... He's guilty.
-
Avila was on the crapper in the 9th round... Boras walked into the john and said "Avila, you in here?" "Yeah" "You're drafting Tarik Skubal." "OK?" "I'll let your guys know who they are going to draft. Your pick is coming up shortly." "Is he any good? Who is he?" "Al, you're good to go. Don't worry about it"

Set-it and forget-it is fine if you have the right management team in place...
-
Might as well start the discussion: If AG receives and takes an NFL Head Coaching job, who does Campbell replace him with? Which internal candidate? Which external candidate?
-
I would look to Myles Murphy, Bresee, or Tyree Wilson, in that order (IMO).

So the next questions are: 1) How much of the future is Goff? 10 years, when he'll be 39? For at least the next 2 years (his current contract) and then re-evaluate? Because.. if he's more than two years then it will take an extension to get him past 2 years. 2) Is he worth an additional 5 years (total of 7 to bring him to age 36...) at $200 mill, at least $150 mill guaranteed (current approximate going rate...)? 3) If Goff goes down for 6 weeks in mid-December next year, how does the rest of the year play out? (I'm talking specifically playoff games). I get that a better backup could be signed than Sudfeld... but a draft pick is also a valid option. I think it's completely asinine to rule out drafting a QB, in any round. I have no qualms about drafting a QB, whenever that may be, in whatever round. The one and ONLY issue in my mind is can the GM properly identify the right QB that can be developed by the current coaching staff. That's it. And Holmes wins in my mind. Over ANYTHING that ANY internet warrior in here has to say.

We'll just have to see about that...
