  1. I didn't look at last year's trades, but prior to that: 2021: 49'ers traded #12, 2022 1st and 3rd, and a 2023 1st to the Dolphins at #3 to select Trey Lance. 2021: Bears traded #20, 164, and a 2022 1st and 4th to the Giants at #11 to select Justin Fields. 2018: Jets traded #6, 37, 49 and a 2019 2nd to the Colts at #3 to select Sam Darnold. 2018: Bills traded #12, 53 & 56 to the Buc's at #7 to select Josh Allen (and #255). 2018: Cardinals traded #15, 79 and 152 to the Raiders at #10 to select Josh Rosen. 2017: Bears traded #3, 67, 111 and a 2018 3rd to the 49'ers for #2 to select Mitch Trubisky 2017: Chiefs traded 27, 91 and a 2018 1st to the Bills at # to select Patrick Mahomes PS: Remember, it doesn't matter if the QB "IS" a must-trade-for QB, only that the trading team thinks that they MUST trade up to get their QB, whether the guy actually turns into a decent starter or not...
  2. Oh wait... You already posted what I just said. And so much more succinct!!!
  3. PS: One more answer: Because Putin has MADE them an enemy to the West, to Democracy, to the U.S., and others. Putin has specifically expressed his hatred for the United States. You know this, correct? Just asking. I can google specific quotes from Putin and provide them here if you need them. He's attacked several countries militarily, runs a fascist dictatorship in a country that is a lethal threat to everyone in the world, cyber-attacked multiple European countries and America, attacked all of our democracies through election interference and cyberattacks. Etc. Is this not clear? How much Putin HATES us? I think it should be pretty blatant at this point. Don't you agree?
  4. This is a bullshit chart. We were in Afghanistan for over 20 years, 2001 to 2022. And we spent well over a trillion dollars over there not just on the military, but on reconstruction, and rampant Afghani corruption. Siphoning billions and billions into warlord pockets.
  5. At first glance, I would say NO! I don't see anything exceptional in this group of QB's that says "must trade up to get him". And other "QB-loaded" drafts have come and gone with teams still finding their guy at picks 7 to 14-ish or so (going on fawlty memory...). So maybe nothing happens. The only hope, IMO, is team desperation that overrides common sense and plops a trade-down plus extra picks into our laps. Can we count on 1 of the Raiders, Falcons, or Panthers for that...? (it only takes one).
  6. PS: "It's not my money..." "And I hope SY can keep us out of cap problems..."
  7. Just asking what everyone thinks... If we had traded for Timo and put him on Larkin's line... What would that look like? Would that line be even more productive because of the matchup... plus whoever is the other forward? Do their numbers go up... or do both of them basically run at the same numbers as they have been, around a point per game? I know our bigger need is a 2C... Just wanted to know what everyone thought about adding a premier shooter to Larkin's line...
  8. I think if the Panthers might be thinking that if they want "their" QB or ANY of the (4) top QB's that they might have to get ahead of the Raiders, who want one. Especially if it comes out Seattle is very high on Richardson and will take him at #5, leaving only Will Levis. We don't even need to pretend on needing a QB. No one actually believes that anyways... Other teams will create the drama. We'll see if Holmes is able to take advantage of that.
  9. I don't see either a QB or OL in the 1st. I would be fine with Robinson in the 1st. You can get good OL'man in the 2nd or 3rd. I don't see a reason to push for one in the 1st when DE/ DT/ CB/ and LB'er, and even Robinson at RB, make a far greater impact on the team. I'm not saying neglect OL, just that there are other higher impact positions for this team. BTW, at least at this point, Vatai is still on the team and the starting RG...
  10. Early news flash so we'll see what kind of evidence comes out... But also, satellites have been excellent at showing battlefield damage, and confirming most, if not all, of Ukrainian wins against equipment (not going to be the same with personnel... obviously a much more difficult confirmation...).
  11. I believe the Ukrainians just obliterated 130 Russian tanks and APC's in a Russian attack on Vuhledar (I didn't see the exact date/ time of attack... I'm assuming the last few hours or so...). That's been one of the latest key battlegrounds, outside of Bakhmut. Russians are making the exact same mistakes they did against Kiev. Walking right into the teeth of ambushes, single file, and getting picked off left & right...
  12. We'll just have to agree to disagree. We're going around in circles right now so I'm getting out. You believe what you believe, and I believe otherwise. We'll see what Holmes does/ decides. That will settle it for me.
  13. All I can say is... I'm glad Holmes is making these decisions and not Motown Bombers. You've locked onto Goff to the exclusion of making any other necessary decisions that benefit the Lions. Wait, you're not his dad, are you?
  14. Spring Training so... Not stressed or anything, but... TORK! is still running a string of 0'ers so... At the very least I'm annoyed that he hasn't gotten off the frickin' schneid and started plastering the ball yet. Get OFF the Schneid Tork!!! (That's my 2023 motto... Get Off the Frickin' Schneid Tork!!!).
  15. Oh... He won the Super Bowl for the Lions in 2022? Or even a playoff game with the Lions? I didn't catch that...
  16. I really don't like Richardson's 54% completion percentage. It might not be al his fault. But I don't trust him and I don't want to draft him, especially at #6 or #18. If he falls to the 2nd and Holmes thinks "he's the guy"... well, I guess I'll get behind it. But I just don't see him for the Lions.
  17. If it's elsewhere, that means... We've traded him to the Panthers for (3) 1sts, a 2nd 3rd and 4th. If Holmes/ Campbell feel they need to do that... I will trust them. That also means that... Hendon Hooker will be our 2024 starter. 😉 😁
  18. If he gets a big contract offer from the Lions, it should be after the 2023 season... IMO.
  19. PS: I'm on record as NOT wanting Richardson in the 1st but rather, Hooker in the 2nd or 3rd... wherever the Lions can land him. Just to be on record here...
  20. Stafford was with the Lions with 12 years where they were nothing much more than stumblebums. He's nearing the end of his career (most likely); and the Lions were just starting ANOTHER rebuild from scratch. Can you see the reasoning in asking for a trade? Goff has recovered perceptions of him from leaving the Rams with a bad taste in a lot of peoples' mouths, whether that was his fault or not. This Lions team looks like it's on the upswing and could become a dangerous playoff/ SB contender for the next 5-ish years +/-, and Goff is a huge part of that. Regardless of whatever other QB moves they make BEHIND him. Quit telling us what YOU would do. Goff is looking at making a run to the playoffs with the Lions. And trusts Holmes/ Campbell implicitly (I don't know that, but I believe he has intimated that and they've been heavily pro-Goff-Positive in ALL of their public communications about him...). What would HE do, regardless of how they BACKFILL the backup QB spot(s)?
  21. The best way for him to prove he deserves a long-term contract, from anyone... Is to prove it, with the Lions, in 2023.
  22. If Carolina wants to offer (3) 1sts starting in 2024, plus a 2024 2nd/ 3rd/ and 4th round picks for Goff... Hmmm....
  23. In other words: You're advocating for Goff to be a little bitch. I don't think he acts the way you want him to act. But that's just me...
  24. Why? If it's Anthony Richardson (I hope the Lions do NOT draft him...): He won't be ready to start for at least two years... And Goff is the starter for the next two years... So I see ZERO issue here...
