  1. Yeah... But how many felonies does that make for Trump? 1,000? And how many convictions? 0?
  2. All of them Benedict Arnold MF'ing Traitors to the Constitution of the United States.
  3. Glad our team already took care of that...
  4. This what started that conjecture: EDIT: Somehow the translation didn't carry over but it's in Romad's post. Basically: "Every time things aren't going well, Eduardo gets an "injury". After reading this... I thought "He gets a "fake injury" every time things aren't going well?" And: "Is that what he's doing right now? Incommunicado. No real injury... does he just not love the game anymore?" It's simple conjecture... But no communication from him or his agent? Could be anything. Even this.
  5. There are several athletes that have walked away in their 20's. I think that's mostly football. But hasn't there been a couple baseball instances too (outside of the almost-Greinke)? (Without actually looking it up...). Or maybe that's mostly in the minors when a guy realizes he isn't going to make MLB... Maybe E-Rod decided he just doesn't love baseball any more? He was already doing this a bit in Boston, previously?
  6. No. It's not Biden must try. It's WE MUST try... harder. I don't just mean a few of us here on MTS. I mean in general, Dems need to work harder to get the vote out/ to get the education out to their voters that every vote is important. It's an almost impossible task, I know, given the construct of the party... But when motivated... Dems win by 81MM to 73MM. But they need to win the local and state battles, for Senator, Governor, State and Federal Reps, etc... You can't blame Biden for not doing anything when he IS pushing to get things done... but the Senate blocks him. No, the answer to that is to get more Dem Senators. This is the long game. And Dems need to get more serious about playing it. That, or we get Republican leadership that represents less than 40% of the country with a backwards 18th century vision running the show and invasively telling everyone in the country how to live our lives. To their specifications.
  7. Yeah I'm not worried about that yet as, just like Weaver said... they're still in the "talent acquisition" phase. On that note... next year, when our cap frees up in a big way again... Are we positioned to make a major signing/ sign and trade if someone want to come play with Cade/Ivey/ Duren? I mean, they are still so possibly young at this point. I'm not certain someone signs here looking to win Championships. Too early & unknown at this point. But maybe Weaver could swing a monster trade that clears some of the frontcourt logjam and, maybe gets us a star SF, just for example? Who would that be (conceivably)? Who would be exposed (Bey? Stew? most everyone else would be cap filler outside the Big 3...)? Just something I started to think about...
  8. Looks like I just repeated what Betrayer said with my last two posts...
  9. Also... PS: I think they are going to try and push as much 3 & D at the PF position as they possible can, with less "all-around" emphasis at Center... meaning good D but no O is ok at the C-position (Noel), good O but not much D (Olynyk), and "could be awesome at both but is young and has a lot of learning to do" (Duren, once he earns some minutes...). Maybe you could switch Olynyk to PF and Stew to Center. The tandems will be difficult (Noel & Stew together is terrible O; Olynyk & Bagley together is terrible D, Duren & Bagley will be extremely mistake prone and major difficulties in spacing). Pairing the right guys together this year will be tricky...
  10. I think Duren, Noel, and Olynyk are going to sort of push him over there. Maybe not.. but out of those 3, Stew, Bagley, Bey & Livers... Who do you think is going to start & backup at SF? Who is going to start and backup at PF? And who is going to start and backup at Center? I think due to roster construction... A couple guys are going to be round-pegged into PF, whether they like it or not, whether they actually fit in there, or not..
  11. Also... As I was watching him... I'm not saying that he can dribble circles around guards or anything like that... But he looked competent with the ball. With a couple of dribbles to get himself into an open spot. So, he can actually create for himself, at least as a spot-up shooter; at least it seemed that way to me. That's enough of a handle to get him to where he needs to go. He doesn't strike me as someone who's going to out-dribble and out-speed/maneuver himself from the perimeter to a lay-up or a dunk... But I don't think that's what we need from him. We need good defense, someone who can pass competently if he's covered, can hit 3's, or as a spot-up shooter from most anywhere on the court (including mid-range), and lastly, if he can free himself up with a dribble or two, without losing the ball, and create an open look for himself and make that shot... It's something we desperately need as far as I'm concerned. I want him as the starter at PF... if he matches those expectations. Are he and Bey interchangeable and it doesn't matter who is the SF versus PF? Something that crossed my mind. He beats Stew on every one of those, except maybe defense. I mean Stew is going to beat everyone on energy and hustle... and he's extending his range... but he doesn't handle the ball well at all. And is definitely not the shooter that Livers is. Just my 2 cents.
  12. No I like Cabrera too. But he's seemed to have figured out A+, in spades... And can't seem to figure out AA pitching. If he just got promoted again to Erie... Once more into the breach...
  13. Speak for yourself. Not for me or anyone else.
  14. I think this is likely. Not unlikely. Even better. A team with TWO DH's!!!
  15. Pure truth. Love the guy... love the energy and defense and the emerging range... But he really needs to be coming off the bench. But... Who else can start at PF once Duren is ready to start at Center? It needs to be someone who can hit that 3-pointer, plus add more positives than negatives in other areas, to the team, as a starter... Is it Stew, with his defense and potential range? Bagley would have to develop some range, which he currently doesn't have. And Livers has the range, and he has the handle and passing that Stew doesn't, but does he play enough defense (to suit Casey) if he were at the PF position?
  16. Two things: 1) Not yet. 2) The player has to WANT to sign with Detroit. Just because you want to sign a star-type FA doesn't mean you can get any one of them to come here since... (see #1 above) we ain't a playoff-level team just yet.
  17. He needs to retire after this season. Tigs should pay him to retire.
  18. I like that Livers can also handle and dish and not just be a spot up shooter...
  19. Shawn Kemp! Dunno why Steve popped up in my head... Except I compared Higginson to him in the Higginson thread...
  20. So we've put a team together of an 18 year old Steve Kemp, 20 year old Dwayne Wade, and 20 year old Magic Johnson... That's an interesting mix...
  21. Did you walk 3 miles to school? In rain & snow?
  22. What's Monday's significance?
  23. I want to: Challenge Tork. And move Grossman off the team and get Baddoo back up here, by any means possible. And set my top 6 batters against Righties as: Greene Tork Baddoo Candelario Miggy Baez Meadows And top 6 against Lefties as: Greene Tork Baez Candelario Miggy Haase
  24. Also... if Candi is also getting his bat back on track... That will extend this shallow lineup some... Even though they've been scoring twice as many runs per game due to the "Greene Effect".... Still looking to get some of those other bats (Tork/ Candi) unleashed...
  25. I'll bet they'll really be pissed if they also lose this game to us... Haha!
