  1. And we have no idea how many have been thwarted. Such as the attempted kidnapping and execution of a state Governor (that we may have heard of...).
  2. How did that free 3rd run score...?
  3. Brieske not sharp. 2-0.
  4. And that's after his Terrible, No Good, Very Very Bad Start to the season with an OPS of .387 in his first 91 at bats through April 30.
  5. Since May 1st: Colt Keith .299 BA, .855 OPS.
  6. You're not paying attention. Try again.
  7. The "bones" would most likely be an MLB guy or two. NOT minor leaguers. A reliever like Faedo or Brieske or Foley... a hitter that the Orioles might have an interest in... If it's Kelly that makes the Orioles agree to a trade like this you DON'T tell them no. So Skubal plus Kelly or Canha or whomever they want (ONLY FA's at the end of this year, aside from bullpen guys, ALL of whom should be available to clinch a deal...) and then let Harris decide... IMO.
  8. PS: The Futures game is on MLB TV right after the Tigers-Dodgers game. I get to watch Tigers and Future Tigers all day long!!!
  9. When can we demote Wentz and call up Lael Lockhart?
  10. They should bring in Lee as first replacement of Cole Young as well. Just a WAG.
  11. This. It would be hard to pass up a monster trade offer from Baltimore, just for example. If they offered Mayo, Basallo, 23 yo Cam Weston (in AA, 2.51 ERA, 1.02 WHIP, 10.7 K's/9, 3.7 K's-BB ratio), 22 yo Nestor German (in low-A, 1.98 ERA, 0.96 WHIP, 11.1 K's/9, 3.75 K's-BB ratio), 17 yo Elvin Garcia (wildcard SS/3B in the DSL with .378 BA, 1.183 OPS, more BB's than K's... our "Willy Adames"...), would "you" (anyone can answer this, question not directed at Tigermojo alone...) turn this trade down? What if it were Holliday, Cade Povich, Weston, German & Garcia? I'll leave that decision up to Harris... I would have a hard time saying no to something like that. But I don't think Skubal will be traded at the deadline. One of those Oriole packages though... Just might be "an offer Harris cannot refuse"...
  12. So what's your point? We're NOT ALLOWED to discuss next year's rotation possibilities? Is that what you're saying?
  13. That's 13 for Jung... Also... Dingler hit his 12th...
  14. Weins 1st appearance for Lakeland: 1 inning, 3 batters, 3 K's.
  15. ??? The question is who is in the starting rotation next year. Why are you going completely off the rails with stuff that has NOTHING to do with the starting rotation?
  16. Good. I think Baddoo is toast. And as for Vilade... Can he field or is he another Malloy? They used him all over the field. Everywhere except SS and catcher I believe... I want to see if he's just a AAAA guy though, that'll never "get it" in MLB (figure out this level of pitching)... Or if he can figure this **** out and approach what he was doing in AAA. He'd be useful if he could do that...
  17. It's the best place where he can pitch 2-3 times/ per week and make quick adjustments game-to-game. Pitch 1-2 innings and make adjustments for the next stint. And hopefully improve. I'm not saying he'll pitch that often... Just sayin'...
  18. My WEIRD Trade Idea: Javy Baez for Bo Bichette.
  19. Two thumbs UP. And we still have Maeda to kick around next year... So it's really Mize/ Maeda/ Manning/ Montero and let's just see what hashes out of that next year... At least through Spring Training to make certain Jobe is ready for this jump - he may not be just yet - or at least as cover for any injuries...
  20. Robert Suarez, Padres current closer. Debuted at age 31. 31, 2022 WHIP: 1.05 32, 2023 WHIP: 0.90 33, 2024 WHIP: 0.87 I would prefer Manning get a shot as a reliever to see if shorter stints and "cutting loose" frees something up with him, or helps him "figure something out". He might totally flop as a reliever... I'm just sayin'... And he's already debuted as a starter so I'm not sayin' we need to wait until he's 31 before he does something positive. What I AM saying is that it's "never too late" to figure it out. He just cannot get any mechanical consistency as a starter though... or is missing one key pitch that he does NOT have, like a key "put-away" pitch... And therefore, I'm of the firm belief that he should be tried as a reliever because (A) In one-inning stints a pitcher can fir away with everything he's got because he's not saving anything for multiple innings. (B) What does Manning look like if he "cuts loose"? (C) A reliever only needs two effective pitches to dominate (if they're good pitches that is...), not 3 or 4 or 5 or so, like a starter... At least he might have a chance. I don't want to write him off as a total loss at this point until the Org has done everything it can to figure out if they can extract any value out of him. And if he pulls an Andrew Miller and can run a stat-line of (Miller ages 27-35 (reliever only, before that he was a failure as a starter), 2012-20 seasons): 570 Inn's, 0.93 WHIP, 13.8 K's/9, 2.8 BB's/9 for a 5-1 K-BB ratio... I certainly would be pleased with that. Just my 2 cents...
  21. Declare a "Cold" War with Russia and state that the "gloves are off". And take actions as such.
  22. Mary Queen of Scots burning Protestant leaders alive left a burning impression...?
