All teams in the Eastern Conference have between 13-18 points. Apart from Boston with 14 points in 14 games, all teams in the Eastern Conference have records better than a point per game. So the Wings have had an impressive first month but too early to have created much of a gap.
Right, and coupled with the shortened field from the 30 yard line field position (I guess that's up to the kickoff team to start resisting and kick into the landing area), it seems like teams are just two 1st downs from FG position now.
If Brock had slid instead of going in standing up in ‘68, and if IKF had gone in standing up instead of sliding last night, the outcomes of both of those World Series may have been different.
I think villains and mini-dynasties are good for the game. Win or lose, the fact that guys like Ohtani and Yamamoto and Betts were playing last night made it seem grander. If the Jays had won, it would have been a giant kill.
If Nailor didn't make the catch the Lions probably would have won the game. But the Lions didn't deserve to win. This game makes me question some of the assumptions I had made about how the rest of the season would play out.
