  1. Nope it won't matter, if/ when we ever become good people will come out in droves to watch and celebrate the team just like they did in for the Tigers in 06, did for the Wings in the 90s and do for the Lions whenever they have one of their rare good season.
  2. I mean this isn't something that we already didn't know but sometimes I forget just how bad it's been with us and big contracts. Victor's 2nd contract Miggys 2nd Zimmermann Upton(dodged a bullet by trading him) Fielder(even bigger bullet dodged) Baez E-Rod(he has atleast shown signs of life this year) I mean between them we have spent well over a half billion dollars and I imagine they combined for under 10 WAR and maybe even worse. Its just unfathomable the roi we've gotten on multi year FA deals in the past decade or so, it just doesn't seem possible to spend that much and get so little.
  3. If we don't get a top 2 pick(assuming we have Wemby and Scoot in their own tier) OKC may be a good team to target in regards to a trade down. I mean you would think they'd want to consolidate some of their picks and from what I am reading there isnt a ton of drop off from say 5 to 15 so we could still get a similarly talented player along with getting another swing or 2 at 1st round picks. The downside is I don't know if I trust Weaver to identify that mid to late 1st round talent.
  4. Atleast with the Bulls win I don't have to worry about them defying the odds again and ending up with Wembenyana.
  5. Anothet Okudah trade comp, last September the Jags traded CJ Henderson who was the next db drafted after Okudah at 8 overall along with a 5th round pick to the Colts for a 3rd round pick. So we may have been able to extract a little more value out of him if we traded him at the deadline but based off this comp it prob wouldn't have been much more.
  6. I wonder how much if any the new shift rules are effecting Tigers pitching? Cause even when things were going good pitching wise the peripherals still weren't very good for most of the guys suggesting that they were getting lucky or at the very least playong in front of a defense that was positioned perfectly.
  7. I see that Kelenic is raking thus far this year in Seattle including a 480ft bomb in Wrigley today, just bringing it up cause like Tork he was a hyped prospect that was left for dead but seems to be figuring it out now. Sometimes these guys just take a little time.
  8. Id love to get White as well but I don't think this org values LB enough to give up a 2nd along with giving him a big money extension.
  9. This reminds me of an old Adrian Gonzalez interview from like 10 years ago. This of course was before Astrogate but they brought up how he felt about sign stealing. He said something to the effect of hitting is hard enough as it is he doesnt want to look down at the runner on 2b to try to decipher what he is trying to tell him. Just see the ball and try to hit the ball.
  10. Not relevant to this draft but PFF put out their All Draft prospect team during the PFF era and 3 of the 10 O linemen on the team were Lions pick. Sewell was the 1st team LT, Ragnow 1st team RG and Laken Tomlinson 2 team RG.
  11. That's better news than I expected. I figured he'd be gone for the year but until he fully recovers from the procedure I'm not gonna think we're out of the woods. Brieske isn't an ace or anything but he could end up being an upgrade over the junk we're throwing out there.
  12. Yeah I noticed that about Scoot as well, I did see that people said he likely wouldve gone number 1 in 2020 and had a chance last year but they still put Cade and Mobley ahead of him in 2021. Earlier in the season many had Scoot as the clear number 1 in that draft too.
  13. Lol at the Astros for losing a series to us.
  14. There were also some that wanted Isaiah Simmons or Derrick Brown. I don't think either are particularly lighting the world on fire so I think it was just one of those drafts where unless we took Herbert which nobody was calling for we were probably going to be screwed no matter who we took.
  15. Oh yeah I figured I was forgetting atleast somebody.
  16. That ticket is a thing of beauty! I was too young to experience the rivalry with the Jays in the 80s so I'm sure the Tigers fans that did experience probably hated seeing that logo and jerseys but I personally love them.
  17. IDK if the Okudah trade changes anything in regards to them drafting a DB early but I think it opens the door for them to surely take one at some point in the draft. I mean who do they have on the roster now that can play CB outside of Sutton, Mosely and Hughes? Are they going to try Melifonwu back there?
  18. Yeah I wouldve preferred to keep him as well but considering we don't have a 4th that extra 5th could come in handy if we see a guy somewhere in that round that we really like and want to move up to grab him.
  19. I'm still not giving up on Okudah just cause he has had some legit excuses thus far. His 1st year he had terrible coaching on top of the fact that it isn't unusual for corners to struggle at 1st. Then his 2nd year he gets hurt his 1st game and misses the whole year and again not unususual for a player to struggle their first year back from a severe injury. This year there isn't any excuses if he looks like crap then I will officially have lost faith.
  20. I think Id break my TV if that happened.... then after the original anger went away I would try to talk myself into finding a way to rationalize it like I usually do when I think we made what appears to be a stupid move.
  21. Coolbaugh is chilling in SD with the Padres watchiing this disaster and thinking to himself "see guys its not easy to make chicken salad out of chicken shit."
  22. Yup,I personally think Anderson is that guy which is why Im an advocate of trading up if the cost is within reason but if Brad doesnt see him or anybody else as a tier above who we'd get at 6 then of course you just stand pat.
  23. Outside of the Suns(just cause I don't like KD) the Celtics are the team I'm rooting for the least. Nothing against them or their players I just hate Boston sports fans and am tired of them always getting to celebrate championships. Yes I know that is childish and spiteful but I don't care.
  24. Going by the description of the type of player they want the only guy close to that on our team is Bojan and I highly doubt they'd give up the pick for him.
  25. Goff was also very goodthe last 5 games of the season in 2021 as well so he's now working on a nearly a season and a half of plus QB play with the Lions.
