Its only ST but it is nice to see a bunch of 500ish+ slugging percentages among our big leaguers or potential big leaguers. I think I counted 6 in yesterday's lineup. -

Haven't been to Toronto in 15 years but back in my 20s my friends and I would make it a yearly thing to go hit up Toronto for a long weekend. Always had a blast there. -
Not really interested in Lamar or the Running backs(if I could get Henry for cheap on a 1 year deal I might be intersted) but Id be down with any of the other options. My order of preference would probably be. Simmons Wagner/chark Sutton Hopkins

Considering the draft is held in KC this year that will be back to back years where the SB winning team gets to host the draft.
-
Btw the NFL announced that the draft next year will be held on April 25th-27th. Im not sure if they already mentioned this before but it will be at Campus Martias and Hart Plaza. No word on when tix go on sale though.

End of an era. For real though he is an example of how fortunes can change quickly for players. About a year ago he looked like a potential young foundation piece that Glenn and the Lions developed then by October we were all ready for him to get out of town.
-
In regards to future money for guys as of now the only guys I feel like we would have to pay for are Sewell and Hutch. I think those two are the true cornerstone foundations that you can't afford to lose. Guys like Ragnow, Jackson and even St. Brown are great and I certainly wouldn't choose to lose them but at the same time I'm confident Holmes would be able to find suitable replacements in the draft if need be.
-
In the scenario I posted we'd get Simmons and pick 11 so it basically be like giving up 18 and sliding back 5 spots. And yeah we could just draft Carter but he of course has question marks where as we would be getting the sure thing with Simmons.
-
I never got clarification but are they actually redoing the big wall in rcf or are they just slapping a yellow line where the new HR marker is?
-
Total shot in the dark but how about our 2 1sts for Simmons and 11? This way the Titans could potentially get a qb if they want or maybe even Carter who could be a cheaper replacement if they want to go that route. We get one of the best young defenders in football at a position of need and still would be in position to get a top CB or offensive player like Johnston or Robinson if we were to choose that route. Like I said just a shot in the dark, have no real idea what the market value is for a player like him that is due an extension. I could be over or underpaying.
-
Total speculation by Karsh and Anderson but they were freestyling what big move the Lions might have up their sleeve with the money they are clearing and one of the names they brought up was Jeffrey Simmons the DT for the Titans. Hes due a major extension and would cost draft capital but boy would he be a force on the line and could help make our defense a legit strength.

Was able to create more space without sacrificing room down the road or cutting any potential key or useful players like an Okwara or Vaitai. Impressive indeed.

Its the Brad Holmes Jedi mind tricks.

As long as the guy is capable of winning you a game or 2 if Goff were to miss a month or so and most importantly isn't a distraction then Im fine with whoever they get. I saw that Cam Newton worked out the other day and supposedly looked pretty good, even if that really is the case he is a guy I wouldnt be interested in cause I could see him being a total distraction. Any time Goff were to have a bad game I could see him going to social media with crypted or not so crypted tweets insinuating that he should be the starter. No thank you!

Greene's gonna start regardless of the handedness of the pitcher.
-
Chris Simms' put out his QB rankings for the draft and he has CJ Stroud 1 and in his own tier, in tier 2 he has Bryce Young and Hendon Hooker, tier 3 Richardson, tier 4 Dorian Thompson Robinson followed by Levis. I don't think Simms' is heavily respected among the NFL or scouting community so this probably isn't worth much but I just thought it was worth sharing since I believe this is the first one I seen that has Hooker ranked ahead of both Richardson and Levis and for DTR to be ranked this high.

BTW Ohtani had the single highest pitch velocity and exit velocity in the entire tournament.
-
BTW in that final AB Ohtani blows 101 by Trout, then 102 in the dirt, blows another 101 by him and finishes him off with a slider/cutter that nobody in the history of baseball could've hit. Just absolute filthy stuff.
-
Ohtani strikes out Trout to give Japan the Championship. Two teammates, arguably the two most well known and best players in baseball face off for the final out. Yep couldn't have scripted it better!
-
Schwarber crushes one off Darvish to make it a 1 run game now in the 8th.
-
2 on nobody out to start the 7 for US and Trout proceeds to hit a lazy pop out and then Goldschmidt hits in to a double play to end the threat. Same old Tige...I mean USA.
-
US down 3-1 entering the 6th, Darvish and Ohtani are heading to the bullpen to warm up so it maybe now or never for them.
-
Definitely, and yeah with the way guys flip nowadays it's hard for me to get too excited about early commits until they actually sign the dotted line and then of course you still have to keep them from transferring while they are here. But nonetheless it's nice to see Michigan getting off to a better start recruiting this year than last, they're currently 5th overall in 247 rankings.

In 06 I ran into Nate Robertson and Curtis Granderson at 5th Avenue in Royal Oak. I can't remember if there was an off day for them the next but it was during the summer I know that. Considering Granderson(was of course super nice) is known as about as squeaky clean as you can get and even he was out drinking tells me that they probably all do the same to atleast some extent. I do think there are some though that do what Blake Griffin claims he did and that's for the most part lead a boring life but may step out and have a drink on off days, not a huge deal if you're responsible about it.

Michigan lands 2024 top 100 recruit RB Jordan Marshall out of Cincinnati. Chose Michigan over OSU, Wisconsin and Tennessee.
