Genuine question about Moore, how good is he? I know you can't take his numbers at face value considering the QB play there so that's why I was wondering.
-
I speculated that the Bears may be interested in him but that was just purely based on the rumors that were going around the past 2 months how they didn't want to drop to far cause they wanted either Anderson or him.
-
Jaylen Brown another example, sub 30 in college but for most of his NBA career has been in the upper 30s.
-
Chicago may be banking on Carter dropping to them which is why they were fine trading all the way back to 9.
-
Definitely true, which is why I know it won't happen but in a perfect world I think it would be in their best interests unless they are really high on a couple of QBs in this draft. But like you said in the NFL it's hard to tank even if you try so the safer option is to just take the QB while you have the chance.
-
I know it's never going to happen cause this isn't the way NFL teams operate but if I were the Texans I'd be shopping my pick, particularly if there was a specific QB they had their eye on that they may miss out on. Load up on more draft capital, tank next season and draft your QB then whether it be Caleb, Maye, Ewers or whoever.
-
As Lions fans lets hope Carolina is drafting Stroud or Young who I think are most NFL ready, I don't want them to draft a developmental guy like Richardson and suck next year so Chicago gets another top pick or God forbid the 1st pick and Caleb Williams sweepstakes.
-
Yeah there are quite a few cases of guys shooting getting better, just off the top of my head Maxey comes to mind. I remember pre draft there were concerns cause he was sub 30% which is why I think he dropped but now he is over 40. His FT% was 83% though vs. Scoot's in the mid 70s but with that small of sample just a few makes or misses could close that gap.
-
I think Jamo will be just fine, I'm sure being an alpha like him it probably was frustrating busting your ass to rehab from an injury only to really only be used as a decoy for the most part. Not saying that was wrong of the Lions but from his stand point I could understand being a little frustrated.
-
No concern with his outside shot? I mean I have to take the scouts word that he is not only in the top tier this class but likely would be a number 1 pick in almost any other class but I just see 6'2 with a below average jump shot(as of now) and I just wonder how that translate to the current NBA. Morant has made it work as did prime Westbrook and Rose but they seem to be outliers and does Scoot have the explosion that either of them 2 have/had? Those comparisons are moot of course if there is belief that his jumper will be just fine which is why I'm asking.

https://theathletic.com/4280151/2023/03/07/pistons-nba-draft-future/ Lengthy article with Vecenie talking to Edwards. Brings up a number of different things including what the Pistons should do with 2. He says just draft Scoot and worry about things after. Also said he likes the Pistons future more than the other bottom 4 teams(tallest little person I guess). But he closed with this, which is very encouraging. "If the Pistons get lucky and end up with another top-two pick, they’re going to be incredibly well-positioned long-term to potentially be a title contender. But even with a pick in the No. 3 to No. 6 range, the Cunningham-Ivey backcourt combo along with the other younger players should allow the Pistons to have the kind of ceiling that you tear it all down like this for."
-
Which means we will be picking 3rd.
-
Agreed if they play their cards right and Fields improves they could be dangerous by 2024.
-
Vikings are releasing Thielen. At 32 isn't a long term solution but if we don't resign Chark or draft a WR he could be a 1 year filler for outside receiver. Had 76 grabs and 6 TDs last year so he isn't completely finished.
-
I want them to be in win now mode not cause their window is closing cause of course that isn't the case but I just want them to take advantage of a weak division and conference that is there for the taking with the right upgrades. Who knows what the conference will look like in 3 years but right now its weak and we should try to strike while it's in this state.

First thing I thought of. Lol

Small sample but it appears the rule changes have done everything they were designed to do. -

I think it was locked up before but this loss definitely seels a bottom 3 spot for the Stones. They'd need to win atleast 8 more games for that to not happen and they aren't winning 8 more from now until Christmas let alone the rest of the season. -
If Holmes wanted Richardson bad enough he'd make the move to go up to get him if he indeed didn't think he was going to be there at 6 but I just don't think he is that interested in investing that much into QB right now. I think at most we will see them spend money on a better backup whether that be somebody like Winston, Dalton etc. but I think that will be it. But who knows, Lord knows I've been wrong plenty of times before.
-
It could be Ben Johnson, it could be actual on field coaching or it could just be a skill that you pick up with age and experience either way I thought he looked great at it last year. There were a numerous times every game where I thought a defender had him dead to rights only to either make a subtle move to get out of it or spin/roll away from the pressure completely creating more time.
-
Besides accuracy, pocket awareness and being able to move to the right spots to avoid pressure or find better open passing lanes is probably the single most important thing to being a great qb and I think Goff excels at that. People bring up his low sack total and just chalk it up to our line and yes they were good but that isn't the only reason. The advanced numbers in fact say that the line wasn't giving Goff all day to throw instead Goff was the one that created the extra time needed or had the recognition to release the ball before getting sacked which shows his pocket awareness.
-
I do think there is something to be said that the Ravens of all teams are seemingly pushing him out of the door instead of giving him the money he wants. Keep in mind too that "all" they have to do is give him the money, another team has to give him the money plus assets of atleast two first round picks.

CBS latest mock has us taking Levis. Here's how the crack staff came to that conclusion. "Here's how I'd link Levis to the Lions: Detroit's GM Brad Holmes was with the Rams organization forever -- dating back to the St. Louis days -- before taking the job in the Motor City. Guess who he spent three years with in Los Angeles? Liam Coen. Who's Liam Coen? Levis' former offensive coordinator at Kentucky. [Michael Scott voice]: Boom. Roasted." id give them an A for sleuthing but that's about it.
-
18 months ago Id probably jump at the chance for Lamar despite the risks just cause the reward would be sky high but now I don't feel that way given the trajectory and improvements we have made. Id much rather stay the course and continue to build the team and see where things go. Maybe we will find in a year or two that there is indeed a ceiling to where a Goff led team can go(don't buy that personally) and like the Rams did we can cross that bridge if/when we get to that point.
-
Yep, it's the type of move that could either take us to the next level and possibly even be legit SB threats or set back the franchise for years depending on the level of his play or if he gets injured.
