The saying "Its the hope that gets you" has rung true today. Earlier today most expected the Seahawks to win and the game tonight to just be for pride and despite that I think most of us was still excited for it, but now after the Rams gave us hope that it could actually be for the playoffs before taking that hope away suddenly I'm just not as excited for the game as I was before. Funny how that works.

I got enjoyment out of the Lions play the past 6 weeks or so, does it guarantee anything in the future? No, but ultimately the whole point of watching sports is to get enjoyment out of it and seeing the LIons play well, seeing/hearing the buzz that it generated around the city and having even that glimmer of hope for the playoffs gave me enjoyment. Would having a better pick be worth more in the long run? Possibly but it's not like you can't win with a worse pick so I'll take that along with the enjoyment I got over being miserable for the entire season but ending up with a better draft pick.

Oh well I guess we'll just have to settle for crushing the Pack fans dreams tonight.

So were picking 6th with a Rams loss and 7th with a Rams win so atleast there isn't going to be a major drop in that regard if they do end up pulling this one out. My fear was that they would win and our pick would drop 5 spots and then we would lose tonight and miss the playoffs anyway.

The Packers have beaten the last place Bears, last place Rams, a free falling Dolphins teams and arguably the worst team in football the past month the Vikings during their 4 game winning streak, plus Rodgers numbers have been very pedestrian during that time and no where near what Goff's have been yet the national media are acting like him and the Packers have been this unstoppable force of late. The only thing that worries me about the game is the potential officiating and how Goff will fair in the cold weather. If he holds his own I think we will be fine. Of course now that I say this watch Rodgers turn back the clock and the Packers end up winning by a million.
