Yes Herbert flopped but still a stupid decision by Walker in that situation, just a killer penalty for Jacksonville.
-
Considering they were kicking from the 50 cause of the penalty I may have tried the onside there if I were the Jags, even if you didn't get it the Chargers likely would've only been at their 38 yard line, instead they kick it away and end up at their 25 so only a 13 yard difference.
-
Jags trying to claw back into this one, down 27-14 now. That last TD drive was a good one but when down 3 scores in the 2nd half you'd prefer it not to take over 7 minutes. Still a stop away from really being back in this one.
-
Jags elect to punt down on 4th and 2 down by 27. I don't care if it was at your own 40 you have to go for it in that situation.
-
lol Lawrence with a 4INT(3rd by Asanta Sameuel) and the Jags down 24-0 only midway through the 2nd!
-
Jaguars three possessions three Lawrence INTs. Down 10-0 with SD in a goal to go situation, not an ideal start to say the least.

Week Eighteen: Detroit Lions (8-8) @ Green Bay Packers (8-8)

While I personally don't think we would've played any different you can't say for sure if the game would've played out the same if Seattle won. Maybe our guys play just a little tighter knowing that the playoffs are at stake, again I personally don't think this but you just never know how players are going to react. Still sucks though that the refs may have costed us that chance. -
lol first play of the game and Lawrence gets the ball batted at the line for an INT. I swear literally seconds before when they were going through the intros and they listed Lawrence at 6'6 I thought to myself(Wow didn't realize he was that tall, probably doesnt get many balls batted down) So crazy.

I think Sewell, Jake Fox and possibly ARSB have pretty good cases but outside of them I don't know if there were any true snubs. In ARSB's case he was graded at number 2 by PFF so going by that he certainly deserves it but he just didn't quite have the raw numbers outside of receptions to make it.

It's a couple pages late but in regards to Goff's arm strength. This past year he threw the 5th longest in air completion in the NFL and all time he has the 2nd longest throw since they've been measuring with a 67 yard in air completion. Also since they started measuring velo at the combine in 2008 only Josh Allen has thrown a higher velo than Goff among QBs that made it in the NFL of any significance. For reference Allen threw 62, Goff threw 59mph while guys like Herbert and Mahomes were in the mid 50s. On top of that he was in the top 3 for rating when throwing to the sidelines from the opposite hash which is the main throw where arm strength is needed. So You may or may not be able to argue his accuracy on deep throws but you can't question his arm strength, he has plenty of arm.

Lottery isn't needed in the NFL cause aside from that once in a decade type player there really isn't any reason to try to tank to get the number 1 pick. I mean since Peyton Manning 25 years ago I can only think of 3 times where the number 1 pick was a franchise altering guy that teams would be willing to lose for and that was Michael Vick, Andrew Luck and Trevor Lawrence and in the case of Lawrence the Jets won a meaningless game at the end of the season to prevent them from getting number 1 so it shows that it's hard to openly tank in the NFL anyway.

I like the approach Sheila took so long as the "football guy" is open to what metrics and brainy people on the staff have to say and DC certainly fits that mold. I also think there is something to be said for having a HC that was an ex player, he's been through the grind and is better equipt to know what the players are going through and in turn earn their respect easier and make it easier for them to listen to you knowing he's been there before. I think if you're "just" a brainy coordinator that doesn't have motivational or leadership skills you're gonna have a hard time succeeding as a HC in this league regardless of how smart you are and how intricate your play designs are.

Week Eighteen: Detroit Lions (8-8) @ Green Bay Packers (8-8)
RandyMarsh replied to MichiganCardinal's topic in Detroit Lions
To me Im ok if you have the Pack favored based off the fact that Goff and the Lions offense has looked worse on the road and the last time they played in cold weather they got handed their asses by a so so Carolina team. I don't agree with making the Pack favored based off the Pack's then winning streak or because the Lions had history of struggling at Lambeau. What those previous regimes and players did means nothing to me nor should it. -

Gambling lines aren't supposed to be set based off what a franchise did when the current players were in grade school. That's just lazy booking. -

Same with going for it on 4th down to close it out. While the FG would be closer other than that it was the same situation as the first Minnesota where Campbell vowed not to make the same mistake. Both times they were in position to close out the team with the first down or kick the fg to go up 7, the first time Campbell elected the latter and we know how that went. He said he wouldn't make that same mistake again and sure enough when the opportunity presented itself on Sunday in the same situation he didn't make the same mistake instead went for the 1st down and the kill. So that decision had nothing to do with us being eliminated from the playoffs and having "nothing to lose" like the announcers either outright said or insinuated. -
Didnt the offense look pretty good with Campbell calling plays down the stretch in 2021? It wasn't as good as it was this year but I also think the personnel was better and healthier in 2022 vs. the end of 2021 so even if we lose Johnson unless we hire a total moron to replace him Im pretty confident the offense will be fine regardless.

If I was Houston I think I'd wait till next year to get the QB but admittedly I'm not as high on Bryce Young due to his size as others may be. Yeah you can say that with the NFL parity you don't know if you're going to be picking number 1 next year and that's true but even if you don't get Caleb there should be a few others that I would take over anybody in this class. Plus Houston has extra capital due to the Watson trade so they have ammunition to trade up if need be.

BTW Miggy commented on the Instagram post about the fences being moved in with "Nice! Now I want to play more years." Don't worry though he had 3 laughing emojis at the end so he was only joking.

I hope they make it visually appealing, the thought of keeping the RCF wall the same as it is now but just slapping a yellow line half way up it is not what I have in mind when it comes to appearance. Same with CF, I guess it's only an 8ft difference so it may not be that noticeable but I hope they put some shrubbery or something there instead of just having a gap from the wall to where the shrubs and fountains are at now.

Depending on how the board plays out we could be in a prime spot for a trade down. If mocks are to be believed as of now there appears to be 4 1st round graded qbs so as long as 1 of them is still there at our pick there is a decent chance any team wanting a qb will be open to moving up to secure one of them.

Phillies “Working On A Trade” For Gregory Soto

I've only seen his stock player pic but he has a pretty mean face, he could be a good doorman/bouncer for one of Adduci's underground establishments. -
I follow several football related youtube channels and more than 1 has commented on how Lions related content draws higher views and engagement than others which is why they kept making so many vids about them.
-
I saw one on Yahoo that actually had us at 7 or 8, ahead of a bunch of playoff teams.

I definitely think that game is going to be a prime time game, you have to figure were gonna get atleast one and outside of the Cowboys and Packers the Chiefs are probably the most high profile team we face. It would be a little benefit if we did catch them in week 1 cause for starters I feel that first week is the most volatile of any so if you're going to play a superior team that would be the best time to do so and for another it would be nice playing in KC when it's 80 vs. potentially playing in sub freezing weather if we got them late in the year.
