Who do you want to replace Harbaugh if he goes to the NFL?
RandyMarsh replied to AlaskanTigersFan's topic in College Sports
Yeah for sure. It totally reeks of the cheating spouse that got dumped by their side piece and their spouse found out about the whole thing. "I swear I won't cheat again, I'll be faithful to you forever if you take me back." -
If so then I think we are all awful human beings. Lol

Agreed

I didn't want Fields or any qb last year cause I was and am of the belief that you should build up the rest of your team first so the qb has the best chance to succeed but if you're going to take one just 1 year later that obviously wasn't your intentions so to me in that case you should've just taken a QB in the superior draft class. After all it wasn't like last year at this time there were any guys that people were super excited about in this draft. There was Howell, Rattler and a couple others but none were seen as these premium can't miss qb prospects and I think the consensus at the time was that Fields was better than any of them.

Unless Shep pulls a Thom Brennamen or something I afraid we are stuck with him for the foreseeable future. I did really like Petry in the color role so I'm glad he is still part of the rotation.

It's a small sample and he is a rookie which isn't unusual. Lawrence looked awful as well but I would gladly take him over anybody in this class. Also Fields showed some promise. According to PFF he had one of highest "big time throws" percentage in football which is a good indicator of just how talented he is and the upside he has.

Sounds like the Vikings are gonna hire Rams OC Kevin O Donnell. I suppose we'll never know if Harbaugh turned it down or if the Vikings turned him down. -

If he just wanted the feeling of being courted and wined and dined again I suppose I get it, until now the last few years were the first time in his coaching career where he really wasn't getting that experience. I just hope it didn't/ doesn't cost us any recruits this year or in the future. -

Rumor is he was going to take the Minny job but then was reminded that he would have to face MCDC twice a year and he figured he'd rather take his chances with Ryan Day and OSU. -

Cade is said to be questionable for tomorrow's game. Hopefully the fact that he hasn't already been ruled out means that it isn't nothing too severe. -
Id be disappointed if we went QB 2 cause I feel if you were gonna do that you might as well have taken Fields last year who was a superior prospect to any of these qbs. I mean I love Sewell but Id rather have Fields and Hutch/Thibs/Neal than Sewell and Pickett/Willis.

Ripken has the 3rd highest JAWS score and 3rd highest 7 year WAR of any SS in history only behind AROD and Wagner. Had a 7 year run where he averaged over 8 wins a season.

Casey says Cade has a hip pointer, no word on if he is gonna miss any time. -

Yeah Cade's definitely got to get better about avoiding fouls particularly early. Its frustrating to see him have to go to the bench so early and sit for so long. Btw Cade, Bey and Stew were all selected to the Rising Stars game. -

There was an article today with Will Johnson's Dad talking about how Will feels about Harbaugh possibly leaving. Will's Dad says that Harbaugh was upfront with them when recruiting saying that there was a strong chance that he would be leaving to the NFL if offered an opportunity because he wants to win a Super Bowl before he retires. He told them that he was confident that the program would be in good hands if/ when he left and Will's father evidently believes that cause he said he told his son that he needs to atleast stay and try a year even if Jim leaves. -
I guess I never really looked at his numbers, I must be biased towards him cause when I first got into baseball he was the guy that was considered one of if not the best player at the time so as a child I of course bought into it.

Cal Ripken seems criminally low to me. I wouldve put him in the top 30 and he's in the 60s after freaking David Ortiz?

ESPN put out a list of which teams have the best assets to improve in the offseason and the Lions finished 9th(Jags were 1st). They used projected cap space and draft capital the next the two years as the criteria. Honestly I would've thought we be a little higher but there were a few teams like us who have multiple 1sts coming in but their's were of course higher than the 31st or 32nd that we will be receiving.
-
Yeah he definitely did cause it was the first time I personally have ever heard of gps data being used to track guys speeds. Btw you think the league would have known that play speed differs from straight 40 time when the greatest WR ever Jerry Rice ran like a 4.7 40 yet on the field would blow by guys.

2021 NFL Playoff Predictions..........
RandyMarsh replied to Motor City Sonics's topic in Detroit Lions
Lol I guess many Cincinnati school districts have already announced that school will be canceled on the Monday following the Super Bowl. As somebody that has worked for a school district for almost 20 years I can say that's probably not a bad idea. That Monday is usually one of if not the most called off days for our teachers and with the substitute teacher void we have at the moment it makes it even more challenging. I can only imagine how many will be off in a city like Cincinnati that has loyal fans that haven't watched their team in the SB in over 30 years. -
Stafford watch (A place for Stafford discussion)
RandyMarsh replied to RedRamage's topic in Detroit Lions
I'm happy for him and I don't hate it or anything, I did say all year I was hoping for them to lose just for a better pick but once they made the playoffs I really didnt care either way since I having the 24th or 32nd pick wasnt a major difference to me. With that said Im not gonna lie and act like Im over the moon or anything, judging by some fans reactions you would think their own team won, I'm not like that at alll. -
Hopefully guys like Keith, Pacheco, Workman, Santana, Dingler etc. Can take big steps forward this year, if they stay stagnant or God forbid get worse the system could look like one of the bottom 5 in baseball once Greene and Tork get promoted. Of course we would have a bunch of young and hopefully All Star caliber players on the big league roster so it wouldnt be as pressing if the system was bad. Kinda like the White Sox the few years. There system dropped to the bottom but it really wasn't a major deal cause they had all the young star players on the team.

Starting to sound like those retirement stories were a bit premature. Multiple sources including Brady's Father are saying he is not retiring. This has the potential to get real annoying real quick. I don't want another Brett Favre situation.
-
I actually have that feeling too. I don't think its necessary some grand scheme he is orchestrating but he just strikes me as somebody that will get that competitive itch again after sitting out a year and want to come back and of course some team(s) will gladly pay him handsomely to do so.
