Almost every gun produced is a semi-automatic now. Main exception are revolvers that are either single or double action. Even those are semi auto meaning one trigger pull=one bullet fired. I still say the problem is the person and not the tool used. If there were no guns, people set on hurting, killing or destruction would find another tool. Darrell Brooks used a SUV as his tool to kill as many other have. Are we all going to ride bikes now because we can't trust people in their cars? If not cars then airplanes, knives, hammers and bombs have all been used to kill. In the 1920s someone used a bomb to blow up a school in Michigan. Even if all guns were gone there are a lot of people in the country with the knowledge and tools to make one. All that's needed is a lathe and mill. A friend of mine built a gatling gun. Its an amazing piece of work. Its not real accurate but fires well.

I agree that WCastro starts out in Toledo unless he kills it it ST. I think he will transition to mainly OF in Toledo.

I had a single shot .22 rifle at a very young age. I think I was 10 or 11. It sat in my closet and I wasn't allowed to take it out unless my dad was with me and then we went out and shot targets. After I had kids I passed my knowledge on to them. Its all about how you are brought up. Some people have a interest in firearms and others don't. By the comments I read here, some of the posters don't know anything about firearms. There's nothing wrong with that but don't knock the people who are firearm enthusiasts and properly train themselves and their family on firearms. There's a right way and a wrong way to do everything. The shooters family did it wrong.

The Royals made a "big" move today. They signed Jacoby Jones to a minor league deal

This must of been posted by a five year old.

Huh? We were having a discussion mainly on what all is wrong. I was reading a couple articles on the shooting and the suspect and family have lawyered up. Neither article came out and said it directly but were eluding to father could be in a lot of hot water for his role in purchasing and giving the gun to his kid. Its all being looked at.

You'll b waiting a long time for that.

In a way all of this is good. The Democrats are going to have a tough time taking the WH in 2024 and running against Trump would be their best chance to win. If they throw enough shade on Trump hopefully the Republican will nominate a better candidate and dems won't stand a chance.

For the most part the Tigers were a .500 team last year. This team is better so I'm hoping for a little more.

If you don't think there is a lot of anger in society today look at other things besides shootings. You can't drive down the road anymore without someone wanting to fight. Roadrage is out of control. How about all the fights in stores and malls over stupid things? Fights at Disney over lines. Fights on planes. Etc. Etc. Etc. What about all the violence in the last two Presidential elections and how people were beaten for wearing a Trump hat or shirt. None of this violence is acceptable but this is how our society has changed and not for the better. Did a gun cause this?

I think Schoop is a bargain based on what others have signed for.
-
You make light of these thing but these issues cause a lot of anger with some people. Its more convienient to blame a hunk of steel so lets do that and laugh at the real problem.
-
Its about how society in general has changed and how we are coddling people. I remember the speech I got as a young teenager. I was told if I got into trouble with the law, jail was the safest place I could be because when I got home the real punishment would be handed out. That doesn't happen much anymore even in my house when my kids were growing up.
-
So what you're saying is that people are not the problem and they are only shooting up places because guns are available? I'm not buying that because it takes an extremely warped mind to open fire on people going about their day. Our society has coddled too many people for too long. Some laws allowed this to happen as well as peer pressure and political correctness. Now we have the so called woke mob making it worse. There's no easy answer to fix this but I don't believe the root cause is a gun problem.
-
A lot of what you are saying is already being done. If you have a carry permit it has to be renewed. When you buy a gun you go through a check that the state keeps on file. Also if you want to purchase a supressor or automatic rifle you have to go through additional checks and a lot of extra fees. The whole process for that can take a couple years. If there was a gun buy back only law abiding citizens would turn in legal firearms. The country would still be full of illegal guns in the hands of criminals. I'm sure there would be no problems with that! We didn't have these mass shooting problems in the 1950s. At that time guns were much more available and easier to obtain. When I was in high school my friends had rifles in their cars during hunting season. We didn't have an issue. This is more of a problem with society than a gun problem. Everyone wants to blame the gun when they are overlooking the real problem.

I think is was just a mistake by the original poster and I felt it needed to be corrected.
-
It was not an automatic hand gun. It was a semi automatic and there's a big difference.

I think the Tigers still have work to do but I don't think it's a bad a you are projecting. At least I hope not. One big question mark is Baddoo. We will find out if he's the real deal or a one year phenom. If I had to bet I'd go with the real deal.

I want to add that you are right about bullying. Its a major problem in schools. Some of its not reported and a lot of time when it is, nothing is done about it. This needs to be addressed better and more seriously and harshly in schools.
-
If you look at history of mass shootings, even outside of the US, most of them take place in gun free zones. Its not just schools but workplaces, concert venues, nightclubs, etc. I refer to them as cowards because they are. There were police there in 5 minutes but if there was a possibilty someone would return fire immediately it would stop some of these people. Its would be better to have armed security personnel than arming teachers.
-
I beleive part of the problem is that most mass shooting take place in "gun free zones." Why does that happen? I think some of it has to do with these shooters are cowards. If they knew it was a possibility someone would shoot back, some make think twice. I have mixed feelings on armed teachers. With the right person I would be all for it. However, I don't think I would want to have some of the teachers I know walking around armed.

I can't believe none of you posted this yet. I think it's kind of funny but I do agree with Boebert on some things. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/greene-mace-twitter-spat-boebert-video

Well you misinterreted what I said. It wasn't a shot at you or anyone here but the system and what its turning into. I'm mad about what happened today and I'm extremely pissed about how light they've gone on the last guy that did this and the guy in Waukasha. The wrong message is being sent by releasing violent offenders. As far as being banned, you're the one taking personal shots and calling names.

I think Garneau will stick around. He's the only other catcher with MLB experience in the organization now that Griener is gone. If they have an injury, which is likely with a catcher they will need someone.
-
You're the one who's trying to pick a fight. I suppose you support these liberal prosecutors and judges that let people out of jail with a slap on the wrist when they should sit there rotting. I don't know who all is responsible for what happened today but they should pay a very high price for their crimes.
