Is there a way to let him call plays for just the first half? -

The one consistent thing about this team is how shitty they play in close games. -

Is there such a thing as a voice fumble? Mark Sanchez is unlistenable. -
Shocked Max gets a penalty for that move. That’s either a racing incident or Lewis fault.

Right call for FG there. -
I agree that a blowout in the OSU/UM game likely dooms the loser. I’m chalking in TCU to the playoff. I think they get it done. USC defense is just not very good. I don’t see how it holds up against good offenses.

It’s insane to think but absolutely true that the Lions are in the playoff race if they win today. They won’t though. Dark Goff will show up again and suck the life out of the offense. Multiple dumb turnovers expected. Lions defense will bend and not break but this one is ugly by losing handily to a shit franchise with a QB that we passed on (rightfully so btw). Bears 31 Lions 13 -
What a crazy night out West. Not unexpected it all blew up, it just came a week earlier that I thought. USC doesn’t have the defense to win the next 3 and now they have to do it without their top RB, Travis Dye. Not likely at all and even if they did, the upsets yesterday mean their SOS won’t get as much of a boost as previously expected. At this point, I’m not sure I see a path for them without a lot of help. Even as Pac-12 champ, I don’t see a 12-1 USC getting in over a 1 loss Tennessee or the 1 loss UM/OSU loser.

Not sure if this should go here, the Investing thread, or the idiocy thread. It’s a good thing the sport is in such good financial shape or the insolvency of all these sponsors would be devastating.

The 3 most interesting stories that I’m interested in seeing if they play out: 1) Can LSU run the table (@Ark, UAB, @A&M, UGA) and become the first 2 loss team in the playoff. 2) Can either Oregon, USC, or UCLA run the table and force their way into the playoff. As mentioned earlier, the Oregon resume would have lasting effects on the sport if they got left out. 3) Neither 1 or 2 happens and TCU loses, how would it play out between Tennessee and the loser of the OSU/UM game for the last spot with two teams that didn’t qualify for their conference championship game. Fun times ahead for sure.

Week Nine: Green Bay Packers (3-5) @ Detroit Lions (1-6)

The fall of Oruwariye is hard to figure out. He played well last year. He was 3rd in the league in INT’s and was in the discussion to be a pro bowl alternate. This was a promising young player that was part of the future. He’s now closer to being cut than being a starter and that future is looking like having to bounce around practice squads to try and stay in the league. -

Truly amazing

I just assumed it meant that Indy is tanking for QB.

There’s no perfect system. There are biases and corruption that absolutely do play a part. I’m not sure how this goes away. The best solution is to expand the playoff. The arguments will still remain but the debate will be mean much less when it’s whether the 9th or 10th best team in the country that got screwed.
-
I don’t buy this at all. I know for a fact that teams can get better as the season goes along. I also know that you can’t recruit or add new players to thr roster during the season. Experience in game situations absolutely can help players and teams improve.

Oregon can be the test for future scheduling. They opened against Georgia and got crushed and then destroyed everyone else on their schedule including another OOC against BYU. If they run the table and get left out then there is no reason for anyone to ever schedule hard again. As it stands now, had they scheduled Georgia State instead of Georgia, they would be ranked #3 with a guarantee to the playoff if they won the rest.

Ugly wins count the same. It’s great to get a victory. 6 more and they’re a playoff team. -
Brady with another last minute comeback to beat the Rams and improve the Lions draft status.
-
Why did you flip it to who have you beaten? It was about who have they played and how often they challenged themselves against a good team prior to the playoff. All of the SEC teams have multiple times. All of the Pac-12 teams will have done it multiple times. TCU has done it multiple times. On a side note, why is Penn State so amazing. They are good but K-State, OK State, and even Oregon St playing with their backup QB have all looked similar against much tougher schedules.
-
Lol. None of those teams are making it. Maryland sucks. Why does everyone here love them. They have one semi-quality win over an ok SMU. The teams they have beaten are 20-35.
