  1. You hit on one of the things that I’m interested to follow this season. Going for it on 4th down. He went for it a record amount of times last season. I’m interested to see if this is his normal philosophy of if he was hyper aggressive because the team was out of contention early and it afforded him the opportunity to take risks. Will they once again go on 4th down much more than anyone else in the league? Fwiw, we discussed many of the decisions ad nauseum last year and I’m not looking to reignite the debate whether they were justified or not.
  2. I’m willing to bet she did semester at sea too.
  3. She has a BA from Arizona State, MBA from San Diego State, and a JD from something called California Western School of Law (rank bottom 25% between 149-200 overall in the country). She’s be perfect if they had something like a Rhodes scholar from party schools.
  4. If this show were to have a happy ending, what would it be? I’m having a hard time coming up with much at this point.
  5. Saul mentioned his name when he went down the list of people that were dead on the call with Kim.
  6. Amazing episode! I’m glad they brought Kim back to finish her story. I’m not sure what is next for her. She had a terrible new life that she chose to ruin after purposely doing the exact opposite of what Saul told her to do. She has lifted the giant weight of her involvement in Howard’s death, she’s not going to jail, maybe this is a chance for her to rebuild and start her life again. Then again, this is BCS, so maybe MCS prediction is correct. Can’t wait to see the closure of Jimmy’s arc. Can only assume the law will finally catch up with Saul. He’s the last one standing and I don’t see how he can try to deal make and sweet talk the feds to get out of it. Everyone else is dead and gone so there’s nobody that he can offer up to save himself. He’s going to have to finally face the music. Then again, this is BCS so…
  7. Just saw Rhea Seahorn advertised as a guest on Talking Saul aftershow. Would they have her on tonight if she wasn’t in the episode?
  8. That scene happens very early on in the BB timeline in Season 2. Walt and Jessie are still early in their arc and finding their way. They aren’t yet the seasoned pros we saw in the later stages of BB.
  9. His control has been pinpoint today. Painting corners with fastball and perfect accuracy on sinker and slider. I made the comment in his last start that I didn’t think Manning had the stuff to be successful if his fb sat at 92 but that’s out the window if he can have this type of control.
  10. True. One of the reasons we all loved Sparky was that he was a tough SOB that took no shit from anyone which must have really sucked for Ilitch to be his boss.
  11. Sparky was not in great shape for last years of his life. He had dementia pretty bad which didn’t allow him to be out in public. Not much they could really do at the time.
  12. This is going to be a long long night for this tiger lineup.
  13. Shep is to broadcasting what Akil Baddoo is to hitting.
  14. Haven’t seen @BBFCFMin a while. I hope he’s on the beach in Atlantic City for the weekend.
  15. That wind can be so uncomfortable coming off both the ocean and the bay. It can make 55 degrees seem like 40 real quick. Another note on SF, I can’t imagine their car theft rate is very high but they have to have one of the largest car vandalism rates in the country. It’s a nightmare with homeless breaking into cars and stealing whatever they see inside. Not a place you want to park a car on the street even during the middle of the day. Another sad consequence of their way too progressive decision to not prosecute minor crimes.
  16. It doesn’t snow but San Francisco has crap weather. Anytime of year is jacket weather in the 50’s or 60’s with wind.
  17. Maybe Chris can work out a deal where instead he gives Miggy a stake in the amazing District Detroit development project which is coming very, very soon.
  18. The Tigers have to pay him the money and he’s going to happily take it. Whether he plays next year or not is a decision that both sides can make in the off-season.
  19. I’m not exactly sure how it all went down last year with the Texans and the timing of when he asked for the trade and when the seriousness of the allegations came out making him virtually untradeable with looming criminal charges. I think he was pissed because they traded all their vets and didn’t want to be a part of their rebuild and would’ve gotten his wish had he not completely fucked things up by getting exposed as a sexual predator.
  20. He’s now 3-0 against us with 8 hits, 2 ER and 25 k’s in 17 innings this season. Joe Ryan is a first ballot hall of famer if he pitched only against the Tigers.
  21. We tailgated under an ez-up and dealt with the rain. The silver lining was the temperature dropped from 92 to 72 in about 20 minutes. No sweltering heat at the show which is a great thing when you are packed in the pit with a bunch of wooks. The only small negative was they didn’t have the new crazy lighting rig that moves and rotates. The light show last night was great but it’s gets way better when they have the full rig. Not sure if that was a Pine Knob stage issue or logistics from playing last night in Cleveland.
  22. It was touch and go whether there was going to be a show at Pine Knob last night but it turned into one long insane set for 2 and a half hours. Absolutely Bubbleheaded!
  23. This is what the landscape has become for the modern politician. Party always first. Lobbyists and financial backers second. Constituents and country third and fourth. Morality and personal integrity not even on the board.
  24. I don’t think either system works particularly well. An open system doesn’t allow a true reflection of the electorate either. The goal of a primary should be to allow the party to canvass their members to determine who they would like to represent them in a general election. Having the opposition able to vote for an inferior candidate with the sole purpose of undermining the process sure feels like exploiting a glitch to create an advantage that wasn’t intended. There are ways for people to still do this in a closed primary system as MB pointed out but it takes more effort. The open system makes it so easy for people to purposely try to game the process.
  25. The GOP gets what they deserve since are total scum but this is the problem with an open primary system. It allows for an opposition party to legally manipulate the voting process. It does go against the principals of a fair election. You really should only be allowed to vote in the primary of the party that you register under.
