  1. The Brewers top prospect is Jesus Made. No, this isn’t for the religion thread, that’s his name.
  2. Is James Wood the next MLB superstar? 22 years old with a big frame and a great swing. This kid has a future as bright as anyone in the game and I’m not sure many fans even know what he’s doing right now. We also need to start talking about adding the Juan Soto Padres trade to the worst in history list. Padres got a little over a season of Juan Soto and 2 months of Josh Bell. Nats got: James Wood - currently top 10 in HR/RBI/OPS CJ Abrams - Starting SS and all star last year Mackenzie Gore - Solid LHP starter currently leading MLB in K’s Robert Hassell - mid prospect CF but he’s up in the bigs currently. Jarlin Susana is big armed pitching prospect they see as possibly a future elite MLB closer. Making the trade even better, Josh Bell signed back with the Nats and is at least ar the moment their starting 1B.
  3. How about Gene Kingsale playing on both the 2001 Mariners and 2003 Tigers. Talk about one extreme to the other.
  4. Indiana has proven time and time again they can win when people least expect it. I’m not thinking they can win a series against OKC, but they 100% can find a way to win at least one game.
  5. The crazy part is this lineup has some talent in it. Beck, Doyle, McMahon, Toglia, Goodman, and Tovar are all legit major league players. It’s not like they are trotting out an everyday lineup with guys that shouldn’t even be up on the show. I’ve got to think they will start to get the bats going and will heat up enough to move out of record territory.
  6. The NFL would make the perfect partner. They should all come together to create the next iteration of the NFL’s player development program. F the Big 12, ACC, G5, and especially Notre Dame.
  7. Massive changes are coming very soon. The court settlement has gone back and forth but it sounds like they have appeased the judge and it should be signed any day and things will happen in time for this season. These changes include: Forming a new commission solely to rule College Football. Naming a Commissioner that will have power over everything. $21M limit on spending on players that schools must follow. Independent Clearinghouse to vet every outside NIL deal to ensure they are legit. All rule enforcement to be handled by the commission. They are trying to get subpoena authority, which the NCAA never had. $2.8B in back payments to players from 2016-2024. This is a lot of stuff to get done in a few months but apparently the Commissioner search has been going on behind the scenes for months and they are ready to name them as soon as the settlement is signed by the judge.
  8. There is only one Paul Maurice. Legend.
  9. 50+ games in and it appears that yet again, MLB has secretly changed the baseball. Hard hit balls, barrels, and exit velocity percentages are all up from last year yet HR’s are down over 25%. Maybe it’s an attempt to keep soaring batter contracts down, maybe it’s their gambling partners making more money on HR props than pitching ones, maybe it’s a quality issue at the Rawlings facility in Costa Rica. Maybe these are all just tinfoil and MLB is still tweaking things to find their ideal new baseball.
  10. There’s an area right after the tunnel after the chicane. The regular street is broken in half by a small median with trees. It got me wondering that if the city were to remove that area and widen the street, it would be possible to remove the chicane entirely and create a long straight away where you could pass and also take advantage of DRS.
  11. Amazingly, they have somehow found a way to make this race more boring.
  12. Someone needs to start a gofundme to get bad luck Jed on the next plane back to the UK.
  13. It’s the worst race of the year without rain.
  14. The race for the first turn will be great. After that it’s pretty much waiting on how Ferrari will **** itself for any excitement.
  15. I’m interested to hear the maga spin on the latest “personal time” fiasco. There is no personal time for the President where he’s just allowed to go off the clock and avoid all of the rules and disclosures of the office. This an error in their interpretation of what’s allowed and what’s not. There’s no logical way to defend it. I am sure they will come up it with something about Biden, Obama, or Hillary. It always does.
  16. Stunning. They have such nice young talent. Maybe they want to do the same thing the Wings hoped and have him develop the young guys to a point they are playoff ready and then fire him for a real coach that doesn’t look and coach like Gru from Minions.
  17. Reminder, the race is on Saturday at 10:00AM this week. #MonacoSnoozefest
  18. It’s shocking but it’s not shocking. We’ve watched the Pacers do it time and time again all year.
  19. Crazy ending but just as much on our old friend, Torey Lovullo. Zona chose to intentionally walk what was the winning run, granted that guy was Shohei Ohtani, but that’s a pretty questionable strategy. Betts sacrificed the runner to 3rd and inexplicably they don’t hold Ohtani on first base even with a double play and he promptly steals second essentially forcing them to intentionally walk Freeman to load the bases up but still up 1 with one out. Miller hits the next guy with a pitch to tie the game and an easy sac fly wins it for the Dodgers.
  20. Dingler has become a much better everyday option at catcher than Rogers.
  21. Lost in last night’s predictable Leafs effort was the superb Panthers forecheck. It was a clinic on what an aggressive forecheck looks like. Too many in-zone turnovers to count for Leafs trying to get the puck out. Even when they could get it out, it was a battle that took at least one extra pass. Great work by Paul Maurice and staff. They will be tough to beat going for the repeat.
  22. Carlos Sainz is a great driver so maybe he could’ve done the same but that was a great ride from Lewis today. That definitely wasn’t a 4th place car.
  23. I don’t quite understand it but this is a team that underachieved. Darcy Kuemper quietly played like a top 5 goaltender in the league and Quintin Byfield was electric the last part of the season as a 2nd line Center. They can roll out 4 quality lines and a solid defensive group. They had the roster to make it to Conference final. They need a new voice and a better system than the one Jim Hiller brought in this year. He has a history with Kenny so hopefully his first move isn’t to retain him as head coach.
