  1. I suspect they are done, and probably justifiably. Some combination of Manning, Alexander, Pineda, Peralta, with Wentz, Hill and Brieske waiting in the wings.
  2. He’s a 5th starter. Very adequate, along with Peralta and Alexander to provide depth and insurance. I’ll allow it
  3. Tigers are reported to have signed Michael Pineda. Very solid.
  4. Calling it—Willi gets a dinger today.
  5. I’d suggest Madden, Kreidler and Daz for Montas. Trading Manning makes no sense, as it creates another hole.
  6. Wild ass hunch (could also be alcohol fueled): Tigers sign Jorge Soler
  7. Wish he had moved to do the NHL instead, but leaving baseball is progress.
  8. Agree. I think the Tigers are lying in the weeds right now. Not a lot of great free agent SP options out there, and teams are giving up good prospects in trades, which the Tigers don’t want to do. However. I’d move Candelario, Grossman, Paredes, Cameron and/or Kreidler, if necessary. I don’t think we have a lot of minor league pitching depth to move—Faedo and Wentz are question marks and Brieske, while promising, is unproven.
  9. I’d like to see coach pitch in the event that the pitchers are too wild.
  10. Cameron put up very good numbers in Toledo last season (though less than 200 AB’s). He’s ready to be pushed, though might get squeezed instead. I’d platoon Hill and Baddoo, and start Cameron and Reyes in Toledo. Reyes only gets the call in case of injuries.
  11. We should move Haase to the Yanks. He’s going to get squeezed as soon as Rogers is healthy and Dingler is ready. His trade value might never be higher.
  12. I think signing an OF is premature. Grossman is fine in one of the corner spots for the next season. Can’t block Greene, who is probably ready. For the other spot, I want to know what we have in Baddoo, Hill and Cameron—they need to get the AB’s this season. If none emerge, we can address next offseason.
  13. 12 team playoffs? We’re going to the postseason, bitches!
  14. Let’s go get another SP and start our AL Central ascent.
  15. if this gets resolved soon, everything will be forgiven/forgotten by the fans. It's still only Spring Training, and an April delay to the start of games will not mean much (especially since attendance is already light, after Opening Day). The transaction frenzy that will take place over the next few weeks will be unrivaled (even greater than the old GM winter meetings when trades actually happened). So many elite players that will need to sign quickly will create a ton of news and excitement, mitigating any current bad taste fans have. MLBRumors.com will likely crash multiple times over the next few weeks.
  16. Let’s hope that Miggy has been able to sustain the best shape of his life during this brief hiatus.
  17. Yes, a bit tone deaf/stupid of MLB to announce a significant, new revenue stream amidst a negotiation, at least in the court of popular opinion. But not sure they care.
