  1. Yes, but they couldn’t hide him in the 40 man roster this offseason.
  2. Worked out pretty well the last time we sold at the deadline. #pitchingchaos
  3. I still think Mize will be dealt this offseason.
  4. Great—now we have to face him in the World Series
  5. The knock against JHM was that he could only hit in the postseason.
  6. That’ll buy a lot of soda
  7. Lottery ticket. I’ll allow it.
  8. Awful news. I had wondered if something was wrong as he hadn’t updated his podcast in a few months.
  9. Let’s not forget the many injuries this year to key players/positions. We had two of top 6 safeties in the league. Not sure any other teams in the NFL could have scratched out a winning record against one of the most difficult schedules in the league.
  10. Could we have drafted sooner than the 16th pick had we lost?
  11. Have to assume we won’t have Decker, Glasgow, Joseph. Branch, Anzalone and LaPorta next season. Need to identity their replacements.
  12. A depleted Lions team dominating on the road? Best coached team in the NFL
  13. I like when the Lions dominate their opponent, LP Fan goes away. If the Bears come back, so will he.
  14. I put together this positional depth chart, which the order can be debated, intended to demonstrate the volume of options, current and upcoming: C : Dingler, Rogers, Valencia, Nido, Liranzo, Briceno 1B: Torkelson, Keith, Valencia, Briceno 2B: Torres, Keith, Baez, McKinstry, McGonigle, Anderson, Lee, Jung, Cruz SS: Baez, McKinstry, McGonigle, Sweeney, Rainer, Cruz 3B: Keith, McKinstry, Vierling, Baez, McGonigle, Anderson, Jung, Lee, Cruz LF: Greene, Vierling, Jones, Cruz CF: Meadows, Vierling, Perez, Clark RF: Carpenter, Perez, Vierling, Jones, Clark If we acquire a Bregman or Bichette, for example, these are the players who become displaced for at least 2026: Keith (primarily becomes the DH), Anderson, Lee, Jung, and maybe McGonigle. I think this depth, particularly in the infield, is a main reason that Harris is reluctant to commit a 5-6 year contract to Bregman or Bo. The opportunity to upgrade our lineup is in the outfield.
  15. Not far. Bregman had an abysmal finish to last season. Would have fit in nicely with the rest of our lineup, but would not have helped.
  16. Is that our old friend, McCosky?
  17. I’m not ready to write off Sweeney or Jung. See Torkelson, Spencer 2025.
  18. I disagree that the Paredes trade was pure garbage—at the time it was mostly celebrated. Not sure that you can anticipate a young ball player who was playing at a high level having mental health challenges that would prevent him from ever playing again. I can’t think of one other MLB player in that situation, so it’s easy to call that one bad luck.
  19. Agree—any other explanation that this was all part of a plan to make a playoff run is spin or revisionism. It’s ironic that we played poorly in ‘24 until post trade deadline and made it to the ALDS via an improbable playoff run. The complete opposite happened in ‘25, yet still yielded the same outcome.
  20. This. Everyone thought we were bailing on the season. A.J. Hinch, Parker Meadows and our bullpen had other ideas
  21. I’m in the suddenly shrinking pro-Harris camp, but anything short of a ALCS advance is on him. He inherited a manager and many players who played significant roles in our ALDS appearances—it’s now up to him to continue to develop and add to that team.
  22. I like Harris and do think he’s got the team heading in the right direction, but can we all agree he woke up on third base and many thought he hit a triple? He basically surrendered at the trade deadline in ‘24, and Hinch guided them to the playoffs with Avila players. Again, repeat after me, Avila wasn’t that bad and Harris hasn’t been that good. Still optimistic about him, though, but he has to build a team that advances to the ALCS.
  23. Bryce Rainer getting some love and potential consideration as the top prospect going into the 2027 season on the latest BA podcast https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/baseball-america/id201539011?i=1000743296162
