  1. cant believe theyre going to win this game.
  2. another thing, the lions organization is stronger - and run by stronger people - than it was when matt millen was here. at least that's the reputation. if so, that could be an environment wherr someone who needs direction does well? i dont know that, but it could be true whereas before it was definitely not true.
  3. ok lonnone. charles rogers got injured. he was fine until that happened. titus young had a mental condition. and totus young was not the top of the draft player that carter is.
  4. this is what happens when you recruit four and five star kids nowadays. they leave after one year. if you choose the kentucky route, you have to replenish your stock every year. if not, youre left with michigan's current roster. the ability to find trey burke and caris lavert and nik stauskas and develop them made john beilein a great coach. juwan hasnt shown he can do that. but this is the new reality, its not just michigan. players will decide where they want to go based on whatever reasons they want: money, playing time, etc. michigan will have to roll with the punches and start using the portal like everyone else is. its not a juwan-thing, its a college basketball thing. dickinson is a bit surprising, the other two are not. and given hunter's body language and the way the team played last year, we probably shouldnt be too surprised at him either. that one i put on juwan. bufkin and jett were always likely to leave.
  5. micah parsos? would you have drafted him? "character questions"....so immature. tsk tsk tsk.
  6. lions invite list is heavy on interior offensive lineman. that's probably wise considering their situation after this season.
  7. great game from wentz. nice to see rogers flashing some power.
  8. how about laramy tunsil? warren sapp?
  9. would you have drafted randy moss?
  10. a reason to watch!
  11. kancey is small for an nfl dt and wont be a de. adebawore is an end, not a dt. only a dt in 3rd down pass rush situations.
  12. lions are meeting with jalen carter this weekend. one of their 30 visits. so i doubt he is "off their board." oh, so are the raiders. so much for that report.
  13. if we could only find guys like thompson...
  14. who doesnt miss woke stan van gundy?
  15. i dont know what youre on about. as usual. you draft jalen carter because he's one of the only people on the planet who can do what he does. the fact that someone he left a bar with, in a car next to him, crashed and died is not a reason not to draft him into your team. not in my opinion. nobody is dressing up sport as a moral resorative exercise or whatever psychobabble youre preaching. jalen carter is a huge dancing bear who can get to a quarterback in less than three seconds. that's what this is all about.
  16. you win the tournament. if you win a cup tournament, you win the cup. i dont get why this is so hard for americans to understand. its another competition, you play to win it.
  17. he's a kid. kids make mistakes, do stupid shit, and panic. it shouldnt mark you for the rest of your life.
  18. i suspect its a lot more complicated than that. even if he did, for someone his age to panic in a situation like that would not be uncommon.
  19. the cup tournaments involve teams from all divisions. top league teams play each other all the time once the initial rounds are over. its a blind draw. the finals are almost always top league teams against one another. it is different because you have more than one league. it would be if they put college teams and g-league teams in it.
  20. youre just making up reasons not to like it before it even starts. if you want to be a bitter old man who doesnt like any change, have at it. we'll see how it goes. you can come on here and not start game threads in protest. you'll show them for trying to make detroit-houston meaningful!
  21. i was when michigan was in it.
  22. i dont expect you to "give a rip" because soccer does it, i'm just saying other sports do it and its successful and generates a lot of interest. it gives teams something else to play for. i know how excited you are in watching the pistons try to lose every game for the last four years. why would the players care? $500k per player if you win might do that, dont you think? not everyone on the league is on a max contract ya know.
  23. because you can win the tournament.
