  1. i forgot about atlanta taking ridder. seattle has denver's pick this year and a number of future picks from denver. i wouldnt count them out.
  2. so who needs to draft a qb next year? indy washington atlanta carolina giants (most likely) houston new orleans seattle outside chances: tampa bay san francisco las vegas that's a lot of teams that will be looking to potentially move up and take a qb. it might actually be better for the lions long term to keep on losing. currently seattle has its pick and denver's pick (and denver's picks for a few years). houston has its pick and cleveland's pick (cleveland's picks for a few years). that's a lot of ammo if they want to move up and jump the lions.
  3. they look better on the pk and pp. perron and kubalik have added that shot to the pp that's hard to stop. you see the energy on the pk you didnt see last year. they seem to be pressing higher and more effectively. sundqvist has been a real good addition to this team. dare i say he's been more valuable than nick leddy all by himself, much less with the coming draft pick and potential for waldman.
  4. is berggren still out?
  5. rationally this is true. but the bears are 3-4 with a team that was supposedly the least talented in the league. they just blew out a team that beat us 29-0. the falcons were supposed to be the least talented team in the league and they've won 3 games. hell, carolina is tanking and theyre 2-5. the giants and jets were laughingstocks and now theyre 5-2 and 6-1. when is it detroit's turn? i get it. injuries, bad luck, etc. youre right. but it doesnt make it any less frustrating or any less aggravating to be a fan of this god forsaken team.
  6. stanton?
  7. is there any word on whether swift has stubbed his toe yet? is he actually going to try to play football this sunday?
  8. its not a true statement. even if it were a true statement, so what? theyre the worst team in the league. again. which we all thought was not going to be the case. not even you. its the nfl. these things can turn on a dime. the lions could win a bunch of games and finish with 5 or 6 wins. in fact, that's probably more likely than them finishing with the #1 pick. however, right now it still sucks to be 1-5 and no number of obnoxious, 20/20 hindsight posts or excuse making is going to change that.
  9. bears, jets, giants, falcons, and seahawks were all supposed to be worse than detroit. even carolina is better. once again, we are truly pathetic.
  10. i dont think they can get that much for jared goff and would rather have them keep goff to act as a stopgap for the qb they draft this year. i think that was always the plan and they should stick to it.
  11. he makes $30 million this year. that's pretty massive. he also sucks. but you never know.
  12. no one is going to trade for jared goff and his massive contract. and yes, the lions are drafting a qb this year unless they trade all their picks for lamar jackson.
  13. hutch was invisible from the minnesota game through the pats game and he's the 9th highest de rating? dubious.
  14. pff grades dont make much sense to me a lot of the time.
  15. they are better than last year, for sure. but they've also played a really easy schedule. let's see how they look when the other good teams come to town. to me, they still look like the 7th best team in their own division.
  16. 1) no. 2) whomever they pick first in next year's draft.
  17. they better win this game. ducks on the end of a 5 game trip and are a bad team. good showing after that fiasco in chicago.
  18. i dont think that was a td, but the spot was a half yard back from where it should have been. is it worth a challenge for 1/2 yard, knowing that youre in dallas and the refs are predisposed to screw you? i dont know. i think i would have thrown the flag to challenge the spot, but it wasnt a td.
  19. i dont know. i dont think challenges are the problem. however, other organizations have been able to win and the lions have not. at some point, the leadership should be held accountable. given the circumstances they inherited and the injuries theyve endured, i'm willing to let campbell slide for a little longer. how much longer? i dont know. talk to me when (if) they get moderately healthy this year and after they draft a qb next year. the real question will be whether you trust campbell's organization to develop your prized rookie qb.
  20. agree. campbell is not the problem. the problems are 1) quinn left the team with no talent on defense; 2) jared goff is your qb; 3) the team is very injured. campbell may not be the SOLUTION, but he is not "the problem." look at the giants. they have a crappy qb, but they have saquon. when saquon is healthy they have a chance. when he's not, they won 4 games. swift being hurt kills them. the real depressing thing is that they'll be this team next year too. they'll draft a qb #1 and he'll either suck or sit next year. it'll be another two years before they'll have a chance.
  21. probably one of the most watched sporting events in the world that we have no idea about.
  22. i dont think theyre world beaters when theyre healthy, but they were competitive. they hung right with the eagles, they were better than the vikings on the road, and they beat washington (who is currently beating green bay).
  23. you dont think they were competitive in the first three games?
  24. the world cup will be on by then. who's up for a riveting battle between portugal and ghana?
