  1. i remember how they cut away from regular programming to show sosa and mcgwire at bats. baseball hasnt had that kind of juice (ha!) in years. the only other time i remember was when ripken broke gehrig's record, but espn ruined it by having chris berman there crying. anyway, sosa/mcgwire was a big deal and did a lot for baseball.
  2. kamala harris on the supreme court would be....something other than kick ass. the democrats want to dump her that bad? lol. it'll be jackson. breyer clerk, black woman, liberal. check check check.
  3. he was at ND. got a lot of top defensive tackles. there's a 5* commit there right now who he should be calling...
  4. right, but we've taken the establishment clause to mean you cant put up a cross as a grave marker, or celebrate xmas without having an equal sized display for diwali. i think that is a misreading of the first amendment. i also think religion should be taught in all public schools. a section on world religions would be good for students to learn about
  5. cause bertuzzi is their best player.
  6. lol. of course i dont think that. i think that the founders were influenced by the political situation in europe where the church was often a state unto itself or, in england's case, the state itself. they didnt want that repeated in america. however, that didnt mean not teaching about god in the public space, nor did it mean that putting up a christian symbol in a public space was unconstitutional. they were all about that. our interpretation of what constitutes the "establishment" of religion would be beyond the scope of how the founders thought of it.
  7. a bunch of different what kind of denominations?
  8. jones is also in a bad organization, which will definitely affect his development.
  9. as an aside, i think the founders' idea and the colonialist's ideas on schools would have assumed they would teach christianity, it was just how they thought back then. if not "christianity" then at least the bible and the idea of god in the universe. which is kind of why i think the modern liberal interpretation of the separation of church and state is incorrect....(he said, opening up that can of worms).
  10. well...your quote does speak of furthering religion...
  11. 1) ron johnson doesnt speak for the pro life movement. 2) what he said doesnt mean he doesnt care about children once their born. but its ron johnson and he's kinda dumb so maybe youre right. lol.
  12. or maybe that's why harbaugh hired elston, cause he knew macdonald was leaving?
  13. john mara is a bad owner. however, the owner should support his employees publicly. what he says behind closed doors in an internal evaluation may be different.
  14. exactly. bonds seems like a total jerk but he's the best hitter in baseball history and belongs in the hall of freaking fame. somebody voted for justin morneau and aj pierzynski for god's sake.
  15. i dont care about vizquel's allegations either. its a museum to talk about the best baseball players, not about a bunch of saints.
  16. ok. my mistake, i thought you were questioning whether manchin and sinema would approve a liberal black woman judge.
  17. i said it was insane to think the seventh fleet could respond in a way to stop an invasion of taiwan. the united states is not the world's policeman. we should do what we can to help taiwan - and we do. but go to a hot war with china? i dont think that will happen.
  18. its not a problem for the united states to solve.
  19. it would be equally insane for the us to think the seventh fleet could react in time to stop a chinese invasion or that the us population would be willing to spill blood over taiwan. japan will arm itself with our weapons. japan is a much different animal historically and culturally than taiwan.
  20. well....no one is saying it is the same thing. but taiwan is an island off of china that has historical ties to china. china wants it. china will find a way to get it. the us is not going to war with china for taiwan. just like the us did not go to war with russia for eastern europe or the middle east. if there is conflict with china, it will be of the cold variety.
  21. biden has nominated the most diverse and very liberal set of justices nominated to the lower courts. he's been able to get more of them passed tham trump, a lot more. nary a peep from sinema and manchin. youre wrong on this one.
  22. my mother in law makes a sweet amount of money every year making dresses for baby jesus. i'll have to ask her the important question of what the baby jesus dolls' skin color is the next time i see her.
  23. it will be a gradual takeover, like hong kong. no military invasion. china doesnt want a direct military confrontation any more than we do. the biggest risk is a miscalculation or china accidentally hitting the seventh fleet. and btw, if we went to war with china over taiwan, we would probably lose. but it will backfire on china. next step: rearming japan and moving our supply chains to vietnam.
