i could watch the bulls lose by 40 every night. so sweet. -
impossible, michigan has a mask mandate...same as california.

LA, atlanta, miami, are cities of transplants and immigrants. they're not american sports towns. its not a matter of things to do. As if every angelino spends every weekend at the beach or disney. and LA comes out for the dodgers (the first team to move there and long history of success) and the lakers (most successful nba franchise) cause they win. if the rams or chargers start winning multiple super bowls those fans will come too.
-
cubs play in the summer and sell out every game.
-
i could see the lions taking one of those two with the rams pick. maybe with their second rounder. i'm getting the feeling were going to see 4 or 5 qbs in round one. so many teams need one.
-
i get tired of the line from LA people that "there's so much to do" so they dont root for their sports teams. there's plenty to do in chicago. plenty to do in nyc. yet those places have rabid sports fan bases and people somehow find the time to watch the bears for 3 hours on a sunday and sell out stadiums every year. there are a lot of transplants there and a lot of folks interested in other things (like the entertainment industry) than sports. but the fact that they havent shown up for the rams, chargers, trojan$, or ucla football isnt because they have more things to do, its because they dont care enough to sit in traffic for 4 hours to do it.

sort of. he'll be better - and smarter - than lyles. but what they really NEED is a rim runner who can catch lobs from cade and hayes. and that aint olynyk. he's a pick and pop guy. he'll help, but not as much as a a 7 foot guy with long arms who can jump. which isaiah stewart is not. -
i'm not holding out a lot of hope for any of the later year ken holland draft picks. i think their scouting was poor and they made poor draft picks as a result. if any of mcissac or berggren or anyone else ends up as more than a 3rd line filler player (like ras, zadina, svech, cholo, veleno, etc etc) i will be pleasantly surprised.

like most podcasts, rogan depends on the guest. if he's talking to comedians he gets too meta, if he's talking to mma guys he does the same thing. and mma guys are boring anyway. rogan also drones on for hours and hours and repeats himself constantly. i find that part annoying. and honestly, i have only listened to a few podcasts here and there, but generally find him to be a fine host who is willing to listen and occasionally push back and admit he's wrong when he's wrong. like he did with zepp. and he's willing to have people on who disagree with him, like gupta, and have good conversations with them. i think most people who think rogan is some sort of conservative revolutionary never listen to the guy. rogan is fine. he's wrong about a lot of stuff, but most people are. rachel maddow is too. he's not hannity or rush.
-
media matters doesnt exactly come to these discussions about bias and misinformation with clean hands.
-
yeah, all that means is that rachel maddow should know better...

one republican judge broke party ranks and sided with the democrat judges and threw out the map.

but he did reach out and touch him. he reached out his arms and just made such a feeble attempt to do anything to stop him, but he DID touch him. it was a foul. just a ridiculous play by lyles. cade or hayes was standing right there and gave lyles a look like "wtf are you doing?" -
why would anyone trade for those guys? you know there are other teams in the league, with other players on their rosters who are available and better than those nothings. lol. i kid. but i seriously dont think any of those guys other than maybe hronek or namesrikov gets you more than a 5th round pick. staal, gagner, and ESPECIALLY dekyser with his contract get you nothing. leddy might pull a 3rd. a 2nd if he starts to improve his game and you keep some salary. greiss isnt getting you anything. i guess you can keep hronek, i think he's still restricted next year. but he's making $4 million this year, i think. i dont think he's played up to that salary.

that game against the bulls was infuriating. ayo comes down the court on a breakaway and lyles just reaches out to touch him. not grab him. not prevent him from scoring. not even go for the ball. he just touches him, giving ayo an easy and one. it so amazing i almost couldnt believe it. made me wonder if he had money on the bulls -14. -
they're both not very good, so its not a big deal either way. i actually think ras doesnt use his body very well and doesnt get to the net enough. he should be parking himself in front of the net a la holmstrom but he doesnt really do it. now, that could be because when he's on the ice the wings dont have the puck all that much. but that's partly his fault too. he should be a mainstay on pp2, helping to screen the goalie. the fact that he's not is because he isnt good at it. again, he's still young, but that excuse is running out
-
but who? i dont know if they have anyone of value that they would be willing to move. and i'm not moving someone just to shake up this bunch. if they continue to lose that's better for them in the long run. and who do they have that could net anything in a trade? youre not trading larkin, seider, vrana, raymond or ned. who else is there? bert has less value because of the no canada thing, and he's been your best player and always plays hard. no one else is going to net you more than a 3rd rounder. maybe someone wants to take a flyer on zadina's potential, but do you want to trade him at his lowest point of the season? leddy is playing so poorly he may not be able to get you a 3rd anymore.

i should say that the argument is that osha does not have the authority...
-
i'm stating osha doesnt have the authority to regulate your behavior - or your use of ladders - outside the workplace. so the argument is they dont have the authority to tell you to get a vaccine in order to go to work. especially in settings where it is not likely at all that you'll get covid (like most workplaces). the other case held that the department of health had the power to regulate hospitals' employees health and interactions to protect medicare and medicaid patients so they said hospitals could mandate a vaccine. again, nothing is precluding your employer from telling you that you have to get the vaccine to go to work at this point. its just a ruling that refuses to lift the stay on the enforcement of osha's vaccine mandate until the 6th circuit rules on its constitutionality/legality. as a reminder, osha currently has no other vaccine requirements.
-
hronek caught behind the net and the jets score their second. jets with half a team, havent played in weeks, up 2-0.
-
the authority to regulate or police your activity at home is left to the state and is not granted to osha.
-
its not MY argument, it was the argument used by the court. also, osha doesnt regulate how you use a ladder at home, state law does.
-
the rams are the 4th most valuable team in the nfl according to forbes. i dont think they give a shit if angelinos care about them or not.
-
exactly. we have no idea how those teams are going to look next year yet.

i think blashill is a better developmental coach than many give him credit for. i think he's been given chicken shit for his entire career until now and has been unable to turn it into chicken salad. that doesnt make him a bad cook, it just means he isnt a miracle worker. i also dont think stevie wants to saddle a new coach with a talentless bunch that is doomed to failure. let blashill continue to work with them and see if he can make improvements. and then find a new coach to take them to the next level. yzerman is nobody's fool. once he thinks blashill has outlived his usefulness, he'll let him go. its possible yzerman thinks he's doing a good job.
