If people were saying that the Braves and Astros had no chance, then I would have said that was an uninformed opinion. If someone picked those two teams and seriously thought they knew something, I would say the same thing. Trying to project a World Series winner is a random exercise. Trying to project over a full season also involves some luck but has more certainty.

If someone sifted through stats to pick a World Series winner, then that person was not a sabermetric kind of person. The playoffs are a crap shoot. You might as well just pick a team randomly. In fact, I choose the Braves who had the worst record just to show my disdain for the post-season emphasis.

That shows how little you know.. Sabers know that the post-season is just a crap shoot and that any team can win a short series in baseball. So, they wouldn't call you clueless for that. There was probably another reason why they called you clueless. 😄

That was Jake. He also used to update us on all of Jurjjens' starts after he left Detroit. To be fair, at the time Jurjjens was on the team, Verlander had not yet emerged as a star. While Jake's posts were alarmist and trollish, the Jurrjens/Verlander comparison was nothing like the Perez/Baez comparison.

I think it was a matter as seeing an opportunity to get another player at a position of greater need. Meadows will eventually start hitting for power and they still have him for two more prime years after this.

Zach Short was not a good fielder for the Tigers last year. The Tigers should bring up Kreidler when the feel he is ready. They shouldn't bring him up because Schoop is in a slump.
