  1. Imagine being able to do what Cuban is doing but deciding to scam your supporters out of hundreds of millions of dollars because your coup failed
  2. I remember Rizzuto from the 80s. He was actually funny and he always had a smart straight man partner like Bill White or Tom Seaver, so it never bothered me. If you're going to be a goof, you have to know how to do it.
  3. Another scorcher for Torkelson. Two hits on the day.
  4. So, you remember Pete Franklin?
  5. Jackson was indeed a good player for four years, but when a lot of your game depends on speed, it doesn't taken much to derail your career.
  6. They know a lot more than me. I am generalizing. I would want to know if other teams thought similarly to the Tigers about Jobe/Mayer. It seems risky.
  7. I am also in favor of building through position players more than pitchers. If there is a pitcher at your pick that is obviously the best pick, then you take him. When in doubt, go with the position player.
  8. The problem is that number is going to go way down in a couple of months when the hearings are forgotten. The event will then become something that didn't really happen because things like that can't happen in America. Trump was the President of the United States, so he couldn't have been that bad.
  9. I assume you mean Pete Davidson? Liberals often apolgize for their transgressions. Conservatives rarely do that because they see apologizing as a weakness. Tucker Carlson has been insulting Crenshaw for his eyepatch and you will not see him apologizing nor his fans calling him to do so. You may have been thinking of Pete Franklin, the old Cleveland radio talk show host, who was perhaps the first caustic irreverent sports talk show host. He was pretty entertaining at the time. Now everybody is like that and they all suck.
  10. I tend to jump around to different games rather that watch the Tigers for three hours and it seems as if every night some team is wearing a special uniform. It is confusing and I don't like it. The uniform is part of team identification and if they change it all the time that gets lost. Like Chasfh said, I prefer the traditional whites with an easily identifiable logo or team name font. That doesn't mean every team has to have that traditional white uniform. Some teams can be a little different, but I like to see consistency. If they choose a blue uniform, wear that uniform every day for several years. I think it's OK to mix it up for a limited number of games each year, but those alternate uniforms should be related to baseball history. The Negro League uniforms are good and occasional throw back uniforms are good.
  11. Crenshaw tweeted that he blamed the attack on antifa. Seriously.
  12. Trump still has a lot of power, still one of the most dangerous men in the world.
  13. I first guessed the pick.
  14. LOL, You're the one who brought up Biden taking a tumble! He must be living rent free inside your head.
  15. Back then nobody cared whether a middle infielder hit for power. If they could catch and throw and not be a black hole, then they were good.
  16. They replaced Pena with Shelton and then Casey. That's not why they won in 2006. They won because they got better players at other positions. They kind of got lucky that year too. They didn't do as well the next four years.
  17. Schoop still leads MLB in fielding at Basebal Savant: https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/leaderboard/outs_above_average
  18. Every single fanbase overrates their prospects.
  19. I think the stakes are already pretty close to zero. This is a concept about which I'm skeptical though. I would think it would be harder to get up for games if nothing is at stake. I suppose it varies from player to player.
  20. Take a look at this list. The more liberal your state is, the longer you'll live. It's almost a pefect correlation! https://www.beckershospitalreview.com/public-health/life-expectancy-by-state-cdc.html
  21. I want a right-handed college pitcher with a history of elbow problems.
  22. The price you pay for being a contender.
  23. The prospect lists seem to be top heavy with position players which I like.
