  1. I think he was talking about bringing anti-racism to the next level, but it was an odd thing to say. Still, Donaldson probably wasn't the right person to throw it back at him.
  2. The only other time was the epic battle between the Underwood brothers. That is a game I'll never forget. https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/TOR/TOR197905310.shtml
  3. I definitely agree with that, but I think Tenacious was just kidding.
  4. They also need his defense. He leads the league in Outs Above Average: https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/leaderboard/outs_above_average
  5. It probably depends on the context, but it sounds like both of them are just dumb players, so who cares? The woke sabers on my feed are freaking out over it. There is a lot of racism in this country and people are getting more open about it, but this incident is not worth getting upset about.
  6. That is exactly what he was looking for.
  7. He was playing APBA, but he injured his elbow rolling the dice.
  8. Yes, he does report before others do sometimes especially with regards to the minor leagues. It is just sometimes difficult to distinguish between his factual reporting and opinion.
  9. That was my thought too. if they don't get healthy, they have a good chance to lose 100 games.
  10. Henning is an old school writer who sometimes makes controversial opinions to get people to read and discuss. I think the problem is that with social media, we don't need columnists anymore because any fool can make oddball opinions publicly now. When you hear Henning talk about the Hall of Fame, something that he takes more seriously than a lot of voters, you can see that he knows a lot about the game. As a an avid fan of baseball history, I have always liked that about him.
  11. Except now they'll be lots of snarky comments about Neifi Perez! In all seriousness, I am not pro-Javy. I just think he's a lot better than Goodrum and the Castros.
  12. They are more likely to settle tie games by having homerun derby. I think that will happen eventually.
  13. It's not really a serious idea. I know it will never happen, but I think it's intriguing. If you're you're going to have so many wild cards and so much interleague play, do divisions even matter? I also like that European soccer does not have playoffs.
  14. No need to call the "internet police". When you say something dumb, I'll let you know. That's how conversations work.
  15. I am cautious about any injury to a pitcher, but I'd be surprised if Skubal has more than bruise.
  16. Comparing players to Neifi Perez!
  17. You have two major leagues - the upper and lower divisions. The top 20 teams player in the upper division, the bottom 10 in the lower division. The bottom two teams in the upper division get relegated to the lower division and the top two teams in the lower division get promoted to the upper division the next year.
  18. It looked like it got him square on the tibia. It reminded me of what happened to Jose Ramirez yesterday.
  19. It could mean that he's smart. It was his push off leg that he hurt. Even if it's nothing serious, he can't go out there with his leg hurting.
  20. That comes from watching the team.
  21. I don't. I want this to be a civilized country. Prison is good enough. It won't happen of course.
  22. Nobody is claiming that he is hitting well. He certainly isn't. A 66 OPS+ is awful. It's your asinine Neifi Perez comp that is the problem.
  23. It's probably the worst thread of the new board.
  24. I also wouldn't call charging higher prices for new drugs a strength. Capitalism works well for most things, but not so much in the health sector.
