  1. Flores perfect, but just 3 IP; K'ed 7 of 9 dudes he faced
  2. 2 white dudes were, to the surprise of no one, not sentenced to jail
  3. we get the government we deserve the average age of KBJ committee was like 83
  4. nope. he missed playoffs last year because of injury. right call to pull him
  5. nice to see some fight unlike yesterday Barnhart I thought would be a solid, low-ceiling bridge to Rogers/Dingler, but boy has he looked awful
  6. it would be a huge coup for new PD team if they can at least get him moving up, let alone something out of him at the major league level he is bracketed by a pair of huge 2nd round flops Rivers (2017) and Quintana (2019)
  7. Clemens next man up?
  8. ice to see Tork, Baddoo, and Garneau all collect their fist season hit
  9. an orgy of runs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. Pineda has a 2nd Toledo start tonite; I wonder if AJ might want to keep Alexander in rotation over Skubal?
  11. Garneau is such an odd fit on this team. only 4 games but whatever offensive reservations Hinch may have had re Haase, he seems to be swinging the bat well maybe they did not like the way he handled pitchers? but not sure if Garneau can hold onto a spot in Detroit for very long when Greene and/or Hill are healthy, and if Clemens and/or Kreidler stay hot
  12. except for BB, all relevant minor league arms who pitched opening weekend looked solid to great
  13. Santana was only added to roster yesterday
  14. Erie, WMI and Lakeland have opening day today. Santana was just added to Lakeland. Really young team: C - Danuerys De La Cruz 20 2b - Sequera 19 SS - Santana 18 3b - Pacheco 19 CF - Campos 18 RF - Jose De La Cruz 20
  15. WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. not a risky prediction, but there is going to be a huge amount of pitcher churn between Detroit, Toledo and Erie.
  17. hopefully the Tigers got what they wanted - a current LH power bat maybe the Rays get what they want, but who cares? not surprising to me that Fangraphs and the rest of the world last week, did not write articles explaining that Parades alone is better than Meadows
  18. A Meadows-Grossman-Baddoo-Greene rotation is not at all difficult to manage, especially if you grab some ABs from Miggy and/or Tork. vs LHP: LF Meadows or Baddoo; CF Greene; RF Grossman vs RHP: LF Meadows; CF Baddoo; RF Greene; with Grossman spelling Greene and Miggy occasionally
  19. to state obvious, his little brother is Parker Meadows, 2nd round pick who has stalled at WMI Toledo IF still looks like they could help with Clemens-Kriedler-Short Tigers were +1 with 2021 draft picks including CBP, but now are -1 with trade and ERod signing. Maybe TB can unlock something, but hard to see Parades getting many at-bats with the Rays - I assume they really wanted pick
  20. Conforto would have cost them a pick near the CBB, so this makes a lot more sense getting Meadows for 3 years at a much lower $$$ cost; Parades is going to get passed by Kreidler and others soon.
  21. Conforto's got a lifetime .873 OPS vs RHP
  22. some risk obviously with both his 2021 slump and 2022 injury, but I think he makes a lot of sense if you can get him for 2 years (even losing the draft pick)
  23. Greene had crazy good splits vs LHP in both 2021 and 2019
  24. its just one draft, but in 2016, the tigers, without 2nd and 3rd round picks, seemingly scored with Manning, Funk and 4 guys who had a cup of coffee. that's not bad considering how some other years went the Dodgers? well, 13 players they signed made the majors (though not all with them) and some more might still pop up https://www.baseball-reference.com/draft/?team_ID=LAD&year_ID=2016&draft_type=junreg&query_type=franch_year
