    i assume they have 7 votes for democracy; once they have just 5 votes, Roberts could release decision; he wants it unanimous; Alito and Thomas might be getting all they can from this: a delay that is pissing off their critics

    in addition to allowing bribery so long as you get paid after, 6-3 court just got rid of SEC in-house actions, bouncing them to over burdened fed courts. considering that prosecutors don't go after white collar crime generally, this means more and more securities fraudsters will go unpunished. truly awful decision.     a couple of "A" grades; I get the fit concerns with yet another poor shooter; unfortunately, I think that they are still in talent acquisition phase, so if he was the best guy on their board, I'm glad they took him, regardless of fit; he may turn out to be one of the best players in this draft; or not.

    the return on that is 5 years out (2030!) and with a low probability of actually hitting on a ML player. yes, something is better than nothing, but that would not be a good result IMO

    building around a strong rotation blew up in the Astros faces this year with everyone on the IL, but with a little bit of health luck, this would be nice rotation next year: Skubal-Jobe-Flaherty-Olson-Mize

    Parada's bat was considered one of the surest tools in the 2022 draft, and now he sounds a lot like another hitter who had huge numbers in college but has struggled in the pros; even if the bat rebounds to "catcher level" he offers nothing else

    not sure where this goes but Petzold definitively states that Flaherty was signed to be traded and will be traded.

    Baltimore already traded for Flaherty last year and he sucked so bad they put him in the BP. I do not see them trading high end talent for just 3 months of any pitcher, and certainty not Jack.

    Flaherty will hit free agency at 29, and if stays healthy, will be coming off a 5+ WAR platform season. He would be seeking a 5-6 year deal for sure. Will he get it? I have no idea. But 2-3 years seems like a management pipe dream.
