  1. per rulebook, call was correct. I don't think it should have been called, because the amount of interference was so very very minor. But as soon as IFFR called, batter was out. but play is not dead, as runners can advance at their risk
  2. this may have been correct, but crazy to call it
  3. the person most responsible for not having any viable alternatives to Javy at SS is Scott Harris.
  4. said no one. ever.
  5. what premium would they have to add on to get Flaherty to re-up for this crap for five more years? $20M?
  6. Harris' moves have mostly worked out. His issues are 1) patience vs. complacency and 2) risk appetite. At some point he is going to have to take a risk; otherwise he's just treading water forever waiting for Lakeland talent to arrive.
  7. reminds me of when Little Marco voted against his own immigration bill.
  8. i was happy to get something for Greg Soto; probably should have moved Lange for a DSL SS when they could
  9. "We spent a year incorrectly doom-casting a recession that never came; here's why that's bad news for Joe Biden."
  10. another person not interested in policy, but just more clicks
  11. "The decision was 6-3" If Trump wins, that's hard coded for the rest of my life.
  12. good point. this is yet another reason we are probably doomed to a slow dismantling of a functioning USA. Social media memes are more important than actual legislating. People literally want a sick burn more than actaul public policy from their politicians.
  13. not much to see; he talked for 15 seconds, the rest of the guys kept some distance. he left and Lange looked a bit puzzled
  14. HInch does not even make a top 20 list of problems with this team
  15. she is still the best VP candidate for Dump - attracks some normals
  16. took a while for the Tigers approach to take root, but now Canha is fully on board with controlling the zone
  17. closer to last place CWS than the first place Clevelanders - sounds about right
  18. yep. people made fun of them for (gasp) trying to get better last winter. imagine how completely crazy it is that front offices have to defend their choices to try to improve their teams.
  19. replacing Biden with a younger candidate does not change this disconnect with reality https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/article/2024/may/22/poll-economy-recession-biden
  20. 14 players from the LAD 2016 draft made the majors, plus 3 more who did not sign; that's a genius draft move
  21. DD is a pretty great GM He has the Phillies at a MLB-best 35-14, a .714 winning % An April poll in The Athletic had Philly with the 11th best front office (Det 14)
  22. Keith batting .386 in May - that's pretty good
  23. this is over the top as well. CC guy who will not get any pro at bats for almost 2 years after being drafted. but a possible "steal". Oh Lynn. Brady Cerkownyk, who seemed on the way to becoming a heavy-hitting catcher and potential steal from last July’s draft (15th round), will be mending for the remainder of 2024 and into 2025 after having Tommy John surgery. Cerkownyk is a Canada native who played last year at Connors State College.
