  1. Did not know he had been converted to pitcher
  2. Was watching the Tigers Minor league report YouTube cast of the draft. One of the fellas on there was raving about Jobe adding a 3rd pitch with a 2600+ spin rate ( a cutter) said he was already a bit of a unicorn with two pitches ( a FB and SL) that had high spin rates. If his health holds up...which is forever a concern wit pitchers, passing on Mayer and Lawlar might wind up being a good bit less painful.
  3. Yeah...he doesn't look ready for the NHL physically. If his Jr team is as bad (assuming he isn't dealt by them) as they were last year....he could probably play for GR in the playoffs or maybe even get a look with the Wings if he develops a bit
  4. As long as they don't start believing the hype...hype, hype, hype away!!!
  5. Connors State must have a robust NIL program.... Guys like this used to go to the NY Penn League or a similar short season circuit. He's probably too far along to be in the FCL...may not be room for him in Lakeland. The Connecticut Tigers were a great place to park college draftees and UDFA's. I think they erred in eliminating that short season A tier
  6. Does Tom Selleck's gimmick AB in spring training count?
  7. I almost killed a woman who was pitching in a coed league when i was in my 20's...hit a line drive at her, but it kinda curved around her at eye level. It was crossing 2nd base when she got the glove up. No more coed after that
  8. Perron...Larkin...DeBrincat Ras...Compher...Raymond Berggren...Copp...Sprong Kostin...Veleno...Fischer
  9. You can clearly identify what Stewart brings to the table...I struggle to do that with Bagley
  10. Added scoring depth as well...
  11. Jobe would not have lasted 15 picks had Al Al not taken him...Noble Meyer isn't as highly rated and he went 10th in a deeper draft. Jobe needs to be in WM ASAP...he's far too advanced for Lakeland
  12. That was one of Harmon Killebrew's nicknames...popularized in Bouton's Ball Four
  13. Stew signs a 4 year $64 million deal with the Pistons
  14. I like the Anderson pick...seems like a hitter. We'll worry about that position later. Plus...since he's a squat 6-0 215lbs...we can call him The Fat Kid
  15. I'm warming up to the Clark pick...as well as the Anderson pick. He can hit and he bats RH...adds balance to the org. McGonigle could be a steal where we got him...he has a quick compact swing...he could move quickly in the system
  16. Time to move Gold and Jobe to WM and Jung to Erie
  17. In the snippets I've seen...Duren looks really comfortable handling the ball facing the basket. That bounce feed he made to Ausar who then dumped it back to Wiseman was very nice.
  18. In his final predraft rankings...McDaniel saidClark will slot at #29 after he signs
  19. I think I'd still have CK at #1 in the top 30 because his power potential is already showing in games...but Clark is a CF with speed and a plus hit...so I could see the argument
  20. This is a playoff contending team....we've added size and scoring and it didn't cost us any of our top prospects. Great offseason for SY
  21. Assuming he signs....where does Clark fit into our top 30...2nd? 3rd?
  22. DeBrincat may have said "not signing anywhere but Detroit"...that would have made it difficult to maximize the return
  23. At least it wasnt Noble Meyer...
