  1. It would have to be one of those positional matchup type deals where different needs are met. You'd want a Tork type player, in terms of MLB readiness and all that but at a different position. Of course the value of a 1B/DH compared to another IF skews things.
  2. and I'm not sure what would have or could have occured a year into his tenure to make us think he's an elite GM. Getting lucky isn't a sign of genius. The league is full of competent and smart people. The goal is to be on par with them.
  3. I was really into Crue in middle school.... up until Theater of Pain. I listened to that again a few years ago and it was such a rush to hear those songs again. Hadn't listened to them since the 80's and they were as fresh as could be in my mind. I love that experience.
  4. He can become Athletic Director at Divine Child. Then When Aiden retires from the Lions he can be his assistant.
  5. https://x.com/cmccosky/status/1693339706728051111?s=46&t=rTECiCzi2O-lytdgFWVzfg this seems fanboy-ish.
  6. My son says Nashville is Atlanta for white people. Downtown is basically a massive bachelorette party.
  7. Imagine John Lowe doing a tweet like that over Doug Baker.
  8. It was something to do with their ear pieces. One guy who complained is a die hard who follows them.
  9. People I know who went to their latest LCA show said it was a disaster... and I think Daltry admitted they ****ed up the sound.
  10. Kyle Schwarber has hit a HR in the AL Wild Card,NL Wild Card, ALDS, NLDS, ALCS, NLCS, WS, and WBC Pool PLay and WBC Championship.
  11. My wife saw Rick Springfield last week and I wanted to go dressed like Rahad and run around saying "He's a buddy of mine!"
  12. I’ll never forget when in an early game Ausmus left him in the game during a challenging situation. People ripper Ausmus. Mark came in to explain that a knock against Norris in the minors something like lacking a killer instinct or something like that. So Ausmus was probably testing him. That stuck with me.
  13. I think that's actually the first time I figured out what he looked like. I'm like "Who is that?" "Ohh....."
  14. Don't forget Tommy's tallywacker being enthusiastically pulled by the female gym teacher.
  15. Also a reminder of how fast the game moves. The mind to body timing is a long time relatively speaking. Adrenaline too.
  16. It's almost like things happen outside of anyone's control and the basic laws of economics take over....
  17. Well he's got Secret Service with him at all times and they work for the Gov't. They are equipped to lift and carry him for safety so they can lift and carry him for extradition. If his private security get in the way then there's an armed conflict and they are aiding and abetting a fugitive. SHove him into a big black SUV and off he goes. DeSantis won't lift a finger for him anymore.
  18. Initially Diamond said he wrote it about his wife but needed a 3 syllable word so he came up with Caroline. Later on he said he was inspired by a photo of Caroline Kennedy in her riding gear. She was born in 57, the song was written in 69. https://americansongwriter.com/meaning-of-neil-diamonds-sweet-caroline-song-lyrics/ Yesterday was the anniversary of Elvis dying. We all know about Priscilla and how old she was. I agree with CMU97. Mores change over time. My sister was 16 when she got married in 1966.
  19. The good news is the bandbox should help Tork get a few more dingers. The bad news is the bandbox should help Cleveland get a few more dingers.
  20. I went back to the mid 70s and Tigers with more homers in their age 23 years are Fryman (for now) in 92 and 93 and Nokes in 87.
  21. We have 6 large ones... pretty much our only thing that grew/survived this year. There's been deer in our neighborhoods and they ate our tomato and pepper plants.
  22. but the caveat to that is if a remote agent is a selling point for him compared to other agents? Would a buyer/seller be reluctant to go with him if they know he's working for the Tigers all the time from March thru September? It could affect his draw as an agent. My brother in law does real estate on the side, he loves it. It's his passion. He's also a full time teacher, and is very very good at it. Only keeps that job b/c of the benefits. He is very active on social media but doesn't mention anything about teaching for fear potential customers will think he isn't giving them 100% of his efforts. I think it's silly myself but whatever... But Dirks is very good on the mic. As a fan I would love it. The first time I heard him I assumed it was another industry person b/c he was very crisp at it. Seemed like he'd been doing it a long time.
  23. yeah that's what I'm getting at. I know from family experience that the job involves lots of last minute tasks and would he be able to, or want, to do both? An active agent has assistants to handle things like going to various city halls for this or that (My mother in law does that for my brother in law) in addition to showings, closings, etc. If you are good and buy/sell a lot of good priced houses you can make good money.... is a radio/TV gig today worth more? Not sure.
