I thought the last agreement said getaway days had to be day games. Is this game on any national network? Otherwise I think the home team sets the game times. Most orgs play nice and set day games for the final game of the series but a few, like Baltmore and I guess NY prefer the higher ticket sales. -
I hope it changed their mind about being vaxxed. Considering what we are seeing now I think a wave is going through and a lot of us are getting it without knowing. Data is pretty clear and I am not worrying about the unvaxxed anymore. They know the drill. If I get to the point where I'm coughing and sneezing then I just stay home.

I listened to Peter Berg on a podcast, he made Painkillers for Netflix which also covers the Sacklers. Been wanting to watch Dopesick but I think it'll just make me so angry.

My wife is on ICU and hasn’t had a patient with COVID in there because of COVID in months.

It is but we gotta find a way to both sides

I’m at the point where I am just treating it like a cold. I know several who have had it recently but all said it was very minor and 5 years ago the “symptoms” wouldn’t have even registered on their radar.

it was a private school. I have no idea if they were state accredited. Religion and education were mixed together as one. Most people went there because their local school "had too many black kids".

that's like the kitty litter box in schools thing.... some moron gets a crazy idea and of course the fringe RW media jumps all over it and has their tinfoil hat circle jerk. Can't wait for Joe Rogan's take.... "Hey.... I got a great idea. Let's use different fonts. THEY'LL NEVER KNOW!" As a kid in baptist school we were taught that certain clothing brands would put devil symbols on their jeans. We weren't allowed to wear them. Seriously. These are the same ****ing people who are so gullible they believe anything.

I will never voluntarily pay or use points on first class unless it’s cross country for those reasons. Preferred is good enough for me. On one of my recent flights they kept the partition open and we were using that bathroom since it was closer for us. It was right between the two seating areas I was in the second row of preferred. Nobody told us not to. Usually what happens is I book our flights regular and then a month later I will upgrade. Once I put out $600 originally another $200 the following month, or miles, doesn’t seem like much. I fall for it. The extra legroom alone is worth it to me. The free drink is a bonus but not a deal breaker usually.

The way society in general treated women even up until maybe 10 years ago is eye opening. That includes not just people who did or said the things but those who laughed or let it happen without comment.

We flew United when going to Aruba as Newark is a hub for them with direct flights there. Significant downgrade from what I'm used to on Delta. The TV controls were on the armrest so anytime you moved it would change the volume or change the channel. I was used to free alcohol drinks on economy plus. United didn't have that but the attendant gave me two bottles since I was on vacation, so that's a plus.

We don't do pickup at the non chain stores, those we get ourselves for that very reason. we want to pick out our fresh food. The soups and pastas or packaged food like yogurt or shredded cheeses etc can be picked out for us.

But a coin flip is 50/50 regardless of what the previous flips were. 25 straight heads does not mean the 26th flip is more or less likely to be heads. It’s 50/50. There’s no such thing as a streak in coin flips. -
Are the titles of any value to the fans? What would a GM do that Harris isn’t doing today? If they hire one and next year everyone is bitching because of a move or non move will they yell at Harris or the new guy or gal? I’m assuming Harris is going to be responsible for any big decisions regarding the on the field issues regardless. Dombrowski was CEO and GM but I don’t think he was picking out or even care who the contract for electrical work was being given out to.

2023 Detroit Tigers Regular Season Discussion Thread

Players are human and maybe there's personal distractions involving health of family that's on his mind. -
More precise they are worried people in the heartland will think he’s gay. I mean they spent all this energy on mayor Pete.

Didn’t the person responsible for the AZ call for Fox get let go?

I mean.... it's not even an issue of degree in this scenario. It's not true that one is simply worse than the other. Until we see multiple lawsuits against MSNBC, including settlements, then it's not a true analogy in any sense. MSNBC is a circle jerk at times for lefties.... but that's their enjoyment to have. It's harmless. Think of it like one group of people likes to have consensual orgies and another likes to go gang rape people. They are clearly not the same thing! That's MSNBC and Fox. Now a evangelical or religious nut might look at both as demented perverts but in a legal sense but that's not relevant to overall standards.

Because it affected the narrative. That gave Biden the needed perception that he won and put Trump and his team on the defensive. And it hurt the viewers feelings and pissed them off. I think both equally bothered fox staffers. Not unlike what happened in 2000 when Florida was called for Bush then pulled back. Not saying it would affected that outcome either but it plants the seed that one guy has an edge already. It's all about optics.

Prosecutors implied that act of terrorism is defined as a disruption or intention for change of government operations. Judge seems to think you need a body count to be terrorism.

You haven't told me the agenda other than talking about black people too much. What is it about them and black people that riles you up? What news stories or segments were wrong in your opinion? I provided you with an opinion that bias by itself isn't bad. It's not a legal or moral distinction. It's marketing.
-
well when someone's evidence of bad bias is "they talk about the blacks too much".... what is one to do?
-
Everyone has some form of bias, it's how you use that bias that's important. You can show harmless bias simply by deciding what stories or topics to cover. For example, the local Fox 2 channel does this at noon every day when they have two African American anchors, Maurielle Lue and Lee Thomas, sit and talk. I've noticed their topics are of particular interest to that community. It's fine. They aren't pushing an agenda, just diverting coverage to a more targeted demographic. Probably because the show that comes on after is Sherri which is African American focused. The bias gets harmful when you have people on, like Fox does, who blatantly lie or mislead. Fox News does this when they bring on Jonathan Turley, under the guise of straight legal analysis, who completely distorts the facts. Bias isn't a bad word in and of itself. It's how you use it. A network could be biased simply because they talk about the Royal family too much and some viewers may not watch it. A local sports network like Bally's Detroit is biased, without being agenda driven or hurtful, because they will obviously frame things around Detroit teams and players for a Detroit audience. Nobody's lying or distorting the facts. That same broadcaster could then work the weekend for a national outlet covering a Detroit team and they flip a switch and cover it straight.
