Here's a great version of The Weight. I think it might be the perfect song. I love it when you have something like a music festival or tribute show and this kind of song is the finale and you have 25 legends on stage singing it. The best part about The Last Waltz is Neil Young's cocaine booger.

He's on his third team since DET traded him..... once that happens I sort of forget them as former Tigers, HOF players excluded of course.

Regarding being able to sign Miggy….. unfortunately they were able to sign him twice.

Gary Hart was disqualified because he was on a boat with another woman. Jimmy Carter's Chief of Staff resigned because he looked at someone's cleavage and might have done coke (This was the 70s).

Rod Allen also wore #12.

I hope the GOP keeps running on abortion. It’s a real winner.

Lottery is for picks 1-7. Tigers currently sit at 7th worst. I don’t think draft position is a consideration. -
He’s Nixon. Do you think Desantis has any friends? Like old college buddies? Maybe from the Navy?

Deserves his own thread. He was a good man. He was also a very nice man. May Jack's Place for Autism live on.

Someone synced up a segment to the Avengers Assemble scene and it's brilliant. I took a personal day yesterday for some errands and spent an hour or so in the afternoon seeing all of these videos. It was fun. One guy was like "If a black person is swimming to come get you.. you done messed up AAron."

I think being a woman too actually helps. They like that. It gives them cover. But she's flip flopped on Trump a few times. It all comes down to someone getting Trump's blessing. He'd have to annoint his successor. He might do that to her because she's kind of a "pretty gal" and he could pretend he got sexual favors in exchange for it. He could make some snide comments like "well you know it wasn't free, I'll just leave it at that". If he picks someone else then a substantial amount of his support will transfer. But I doubt he would and I am not convinced it would be enough to matter.

I honestly had no idea who that was -
and in some of those cases we traded decent players for decent players who played a different position, like Joyce for Edwin Jackson. That's how it's supposed to work. I wonder if moves like that help future moves for your org because it creates an impression. "They have good players" type of thing. In other words if you "win" every prospect side by dealing prospects who don't pan out do other organizations begin to question your system? Is it better long term to maybe not "win" so many of the deals where you obtain MLB players for your prospects?

Crime against Twins are acceptable.

it's funny to look back and realize for sports talk in the 1988-1993 time frame all we had was the weekly Mitch Albom/Mike Stone sports show on WLLZ and later WJR, then the nightly WJR Sport Wrap that came on, I think it was 6:30 to 8, if there were no Red Wing or Tiger games. The names I recall were Frank, Larry Henry, Paul Chapman, Jimmy Barret (later the PA guy at Tiger Stadium). Oddly enough, I recall one night when Rizzs and Rathbun hosted the show like a day before they were fired. Maybe WJR called them in for a "meeting" and said "Ok, before our meeting tomorrow why don't you guys go on the air and fill in this show". I remember them kind of laughing their way through it as they had no idea what to do or talk about. Then they got dumped and Frank the hero Beckman came in to "save the day", which as someone suggested, may have been the Machiavellan play all along.

Dombrowski gave Chadd a life boat?

From what I have read it was WJR's decision. Jim Long (no relation) ran it and he wanted the change. Bo didn't push hard to fight it and felt as the boss of the Tigers it was his job to take the heat, so I guess give him credit for that. I think he was ambivalent over it and didn't appreciate the love people had for Ernie. Maybe being in his UM Football bubble he just didn't get it and didn't realize it would be such a big deal. This was before twitter and all of that so all we had to go by was what people like Joe Falls and Mitch Albom would talk about. I trust Joe more than Mitch, looking back. Joe wrote in his book that he was pretty sick when it happened so he wasn't writing any columns. But that gave him time to not react. He started to think about it some more and it didn't make sense to him. He sort or criticized Ernie a little bit. You sign a one year contract then go into their building and have a press conference and it starts to become a blood bath against your employer? In fact WJR wanted to get rid of Ernie immediately and Bo fought for one more year with a huge raise. Joe arranged a meeting with Bo and when he pulled up to his house he saw Mitch leaving... Bo double crossed him by meeting with Mitch first. This was also on the heels of the Save Tiger Stadium issue so public sentiment towards the Tigers and Bo was pretty negative.

I always had a soft spot for AJ Pierzynski. He'd carry a smirk like he knew he was being a **** but it worked. I never understood the heat he got in 2005 in the playoffs for pretending the ball was foul tipped on strike 3. It was a genius play. Tigers should go after the O's guy now.

49.... but who's counting. Never understood the Ford Pardon controversy from the standpoint that he 'cut a deal' for a pardon in exchange for resignation. Ford didn't have to do any deal. Nixon had no leverage. Ford was going to be the next President regardless. That's not to address whether he should have done it. But I'll go ahead and blame the media for some of that. A month into his Presidency and every question Ford got was about Nixon. He had problems to address and too much of his time was spent answering those questions.

Is he including decimal points? that person thinks someone out there will give him a 5/20 or 6/17 per year? I don’t see it. -
With someone like Swift the fans want the whole performance. The visual and the audio are equally important. Besides the crowd is singing along every note so who cares if there’s backing. I loved the passion of the swifties. Not my thing but I don’t get in the way of what others like.

Hired Guns taught me that Nugent didn’t sing his studio songs.

Vince Gilligan and David Chase have exposed me to music I would never have listened to.

I’d be interested to know the demos of those numbers. Also as people transition from middle aged to old do their voting preferences change? When I think of elderly I am thinking 80+. Middle aged? 40-60. Whats 60-80? also it only matters which demo comes out to vote. Maybe that’s why republicans want to get rid of voting outside the window of “in person 8-5 pm on Election Day.”
