I like the Pink Floyd suggestion. Had enough mainstream appeal and still with the critics too. I heard an acoustic version of Money and it stood out to me. Beat writers are obsolete. I can’t imagine many scenarios where an active player needs them or uses them. They are outsiders and MLB has their own staffs and that of their TV and radio partners. there's a lot of things we don't talk about here.... I didn't realize the site and it's users had an editorial responsibility to discuss.... everything. This sub forum consists of like 15 regular posters and we have about 5 active threads,of which 2 or 3 might have posts from the last week.

I'm fixing to call him up for a new furnace. He did our A/C a few years ago. He comes out once a year it seems to clean up some things with it but he did say it's on it's last legs. I figure it's better to do that before winter so that I can take advantage of any efficiency over the winter. Probably do my water heater too since we've been here 10 years.

On Oct 9 in Dearborn at the community center palestinian supporters held a big rally. There was dancing, flag waving, singing... someone got up on stage, described as a "leading local Palestinian activist" who said, quite clearly "Hamas are not terrorists". A lot of locals called out the people at that rally for giving the impression they were cheering for what happened on Oct 7. Biden support amonng Arabs is supposedly down to 17% now. That could matter in a state like Michigan. Of course the alternative is no better friend, in fact a worse one.

I think it's fair to call the Rangers a legit WS champ. They tied for the 3rd best record int the AL. They beat both teams ahead of them 5-0 (4-0 on the road) and beat the team they were tied with (4-0 on the road). They were in 1st most of the year in their division.

I mean if someone says player A is a better power hitter than player B because player A hit 20 homers and player B hit 18, and I come back and say "Well actually player A has a higher slugging % because they hit more triples and doubles, you left that out", am I "accusing" them of something? Well you did leave it out. Using the word accusation infers I was saying you did it intentionally. I wasn't doing that. Just stating the fact that you didn't say that and therefore it presents an incomplete picture.

That's the most frustrating part. The Arab/Muslim world, including people here in Dearborn, refuse to acknowledge the role of Hamas in this and that the are the ones who do not care about arab/muslim lives.

No it’s not because the main argument used against many on the left about their antisemitism is the fact they refuse to acknowledge the role of Hamas in this. They just pretend that Israel decided to attack Gaza on Oct 8 and ignore the why. Their statements minimize, at best, and often ignore, the why. They do nothing to hold Hamas to account and present this as an act of aggression. That’s a deliberate omission on their part.

You are leaving out the biggest reality. Ignoring Hamas and pretending they are not doing anything to inflame the situation and have no responsibility for provoking israel into their response. There was a cease fire on Oct 6. Arabs broke it. Savagely. Yet it’s rare to see that acknowledged by people who go after Israel for their response… hence the charges of antisemitism. And harassing and targeting Jews that are not in Israel is wrong and antisemitic regardless of what beef the persons grandparents had. there’s been a wave of this ever since Oct 7. here’s a Twitter account that tracks down these people and properly shames them. It’s satisfying seeing people get fired for their hate.

I don’t understand why that is supposed to matter? The guy who killed the Palestinian boy in Illinois wasn’t killing any Palestinians before that but I dont think that’s relevant to the charge of calling him a racist.

Who cares? In both situations they are being targeted for being Jewish and that is all that matters. Full stop. motivation for being a jerk is an attempt to excuse it or deliver a cop out. Rednecks hate Jews because they are led to believe they do and did and believe crazy things. (Running the world, eating babies, hoarding money, etc) Those too are “actions”.

I think it’s a distinction of degree, not principle. It’s Shaming a person because they biologically or religiously share a trait with others who are doing what you think are bad things. How is that different than right wing nutjobs targeting Muslims/Arabs after 9/11?
