  1. Jobe isn’t fooling anybody.
  2. Yes thanks for doing this. It is appreciated
  3. Hopefully Riley didn’t do something having to stop so suddenly.
  4. I’m confused. Is the insinuation that any political angle about what’s happening is inappropriate? Or a “both sides” thing? Because this hasn’t happened before where trillions are immediately wiped out due to a specific and unprovoked action by a president. This isn’t a reaction to some long brewing situation that popped. It isn’t a water leak. It was the opening of a fire hose.
  5. I never paid that song much attention until I heard an acoustic version. Sometimes you need to hear it different to register. Especially classic rock that I have heard my whole life tnat it becomes background noise, like airplanes because I grew up near the airport.
  6. That linked article is just one persons speculation though. I didn’t see any quotes or sourcing to suggest any inside info.
  7. On the surface it seems weird. But depending on what he could have been responsible for then the start of the season could make sense. He’s been with them for a long time. Maybe he was fulfilled and wants to move on.
  8. 154 games won’t net much in terms of better weather. And they are not going to force teams to play a lot of home games in April because they are in a dome or warmer climate
  9. They used to do more day games in April midweek. And I'm surprised the Wed Yankee game isn't a day game given it's getaway day. There must be a business reason behind that. The following homestand has a Wed Padres day game.
  10. It bugs the **** out of me because you all know I love all things space and SpaceX is doing great things. I wish he wasn't involved with it. I was ambivalent about him until he started doing nazi ****.
  11. Companies exist to make money. Not to make products. If they can't make money making a product then they stop making the product. They aren't going to spend billions moving production domestically to then have to pay american workers more money. The investors and owners will just move on to another thing and we'll end up having just one shoe company in the world.
  12. weather is about as good as you can reasonably expect this time of year. Can't be greedy. It isn't going to rain or snow or be terribly cold. Just layer up.
  13. Sorry about the news MB.
  14. Seeing him in Maverick was so cool. I was always ambivalent on Top Gun, I'd seen it a million times but it had been a long time since I saw it beginning to end. Just random scenes here and there. When Maverick was released we were coming off the pandemic and it's what we needed at the time. His scenes with Cruise were great and seeing them now they mean more. You could tell those tears and emotions were not just acting. I didn't think Cruise had it in him anymore.
  15. I will say the Tigers give out surveys to ticket holders and they seem to be responsive. At least to things I've pointed out. (being able to buy into special ticket promotions, for example on Polish Day you buy tickets and get a hat. I already have tickets. Let me just pay extra to get a hat). I bitched about the 6:40 start times. They are partially doing away with that this year. This year my complaint is they gave me too many Monday games. I have the Friday package which means you get every Friday game, plus random games during the week. (1/3 of the season). 7 times I will have a Friday/Monday set. Maybe some people like the consistency? I do not.
  16. She gave an awesome speech a few years ago and from then on I knew she was going places.
  17. Paramaount is a great app, especially for the price, but it is annoying that they list items available on Showtime. But overall their content is pretty good. Not unlike Prime. "Here's what you can't watch unless you give us more money".
  18. Was this a filibuster by Booker or just a speech? I thought the latter.
  19. Stackhouse Filibuster... great episode. Grandfathers
  20. 'most vote' metrics don't matter because in terms of a trend line the voting goes up. roughly 20-30M more people voted in 2016-2024 than voted in 2008-2012 so naturally the individual candidates will get more votes than their predecessor.
  21. My wife punked me on April Fool's way back when we were dating. In 1992 she was working with somebody who also was a 'dancer' at a Gentleman's Club. They were sort of friends. So on April Fool's she calls me to tell me she interviewed where "holly" worked. She played it off well. I asked "Did you have to take off your clothes?" she said "Well I lifted my shirt up, yeah..." That was when I went ballistic. I was 18, she was 19.
  22. I will get physically angry if I start seeing people discuss turnout and all the other numbers ahead of the vote counting for these elections tonight... yeah we saw that in November that it doesn't mean jack ****. Just wait until the votes are counted. No photos of "long lines" and all that crap.
  23. Remember a few years ago when we had like 10 no hitters in 10 days and all this stuff was being said…. I’m sure those numbers aren’t right but it felt like it
  24. sure, if you have a lot of debt then I think you should take care of that or at least not add to it. Where I come from is this attitude from the likes of a Dave Ramsey who calls people stupid for not doing things his way. Not everyone has the same goals in life. I also understand for many it's a hobby and they enjoy playing around with it and learning. There's no right or wrong answer. I'm focusing on the judgement aspect. Not unlike fitness instructors. We have one who thinks its all about building muscle mass and 'getting better'. For a lot of people in our classes they just want to move around, stay active, and be around people. They don't care about moving up to a higher weight. Mental health is just as important as what you can do physically. Running too. After the pandemic my goals changed. I accomplished what I wanted to, 5K's in under a certain time, a couple of half marathons. What I always aspired to was being able to just go out on a whim and run 7-8 miles. I can do that. I also don't deal with pain and all of that. If my hammie is bothering me or I'm getting a cramp, then walk for a minute. Better to run well while running than to screw up your gait and get hurt. Running is your own internal game and only you can tell the difference when you need to stop vs wantng to stop. Nothing beats the sensation of a finish line in a race.
