I don’t understand all of this and this is why…. Things are not good so the fed has to do their thing. Word is the fed is going to do their thing. Markets react negatively. Makes me think it’s all bullshit and what’s going to happen will happen anyway so what’s the point in worrying?

The craziness of the GOP also started to show itself with Bill Clinton. There was just no way they could accept a womanizing philanderer who lacked character and who didn’t serve in any kind of military as a legit president.

beat me to it. I think the Royals have rebuilt a few times since the Tigers heyday of Leyland/DD as well. The team put their eggs the fall in your lap top prospects that horrible teams receive and some has beens who were good for a few weeks. The Ilitch regime is not about results they are about branding and marketing. As long as they have the clowns on TV talking about Pick The Stick and they get Rocket Mortgage to sponsor the foul poles and they can trot out some lame slogan like "Detroit Roots" he's fine. They're fine with selling crappy pizza as long as they can make 15 cents from every sale and build an ugly building downtown. But hey.... they remodeled the Fox in 1987 so they'll forever be forgiven.

It's just infuriating how many otherwise normal people believe that there's a problem with counting votes after election day. Like you are supposed to just stop at midnight or something. The sight of a bunch of west michigan and macomb county white people storming Cobo Hall demanding that they stop counting the votes of mostly black people. In 2020. Not 1876, not 1920.... 2020.

I think at this point it is just like the flu. Contagious but hospital numbers are still low. It will never be contained.

I just dropped some friends off who are going to Costa Rica and they didn’t know this. They were happy.

I love that account. My friend and I do that very thing with each other. Mix up people and events.

and until about 50 years ago many religious people thought color of skin and gender would have been one of those curses.

Cheney is more of a conservative than 99.9% of elected GOP officials.

When they say Hussein you know they're serious....

Twitter gives us a false sense of expectation. We see some guy state something in all caps and it makes it appear urgent and imminent. It took over 2 years for anyone to go to jail over watergate.

What do you mean "excuse"? Are you talking about laws and customs? That is where the problem exists. We don't excuse rapists, murderers, and cleptomaniacs because your God tells us we don't excuse them. We don't excuse them because they are committing crimes that exist outside the establishment or existence of any religion. I don't need a God, a Bible, a Koran, or any other religious teaching to tell me those things are wrong. Homosexuality is not a crime. It may be morally wrong according to your beliefs but your beliefs stay with you and nobody else has to abide by them.

I believe the DOJ is doing things but Garland's not going to announce that at a press conference.

I'm not sure there's anything big there. Milley wanted someone to tell him to do it and in his opinion Pence was good enough at that very moment. It was an emergency. Consequences and chain of command be damned.

My wife used to work at Structure in the 90s at fairlane mall. It was a mens clothing store. At the time a lot of the teams would stay at either the Hyatt or the Ritz. She waited on many famous people over the years. The only jerk she came across was LaRussa.

Ramsey.. cough cough yeah I saw that about DeSantis a few days ago and thought the same thing. The only checks we write is to our house keeper who isn't on Venmo yet. In fact I don't think I ever balanced a checkbook and I'm 48. I've always had online banking.... I see it every day.

exactly. None of our laws should be based on something in a religious text or teaching.

wearing a patch to acknowledge some of your fans is not endorsing a lifestyle. Sometimes certain Christians can be the biggest snowflakes around.

When the right acts like our amendments are "God Given" and somehow sacred.... they insert a line that they then can claim they are incapable of crossing for religious reasons.

I just looked and I do.... In the Heat of the Night is on, the TV show, which my dad loved, and now I am watching and thinking of him and my slacker days in the 1990's where I would hear this kind of show in the background while I ate pizza and wondered what I was going to do all day. It's from 1993. My dad suffered a TBI the year I was born so there was that.... but imagine his excitement when he found the original movie on TV and realized that was the origin. "Hey look... see that guy... his name is Virgil... I'll be goddamn...."

If they were to go to fact based, like I think CNN used to be, right or wrong, when I was a kid, I would watch. But would enough other people? I want something that's not a bunch of people yelling at each other about. I prefer their coverage on election nights because John King with his board seems to play it straight while Wolf just stammers along like Jim Price, 2 steps behind the action. I miss the old CNN Headline News, the way it was. Watch for 15 minutes and you know what's going on. But they do have Robin Meade.

nope. And Dewey, even though he was a two time loser, still held enough clout with the bosses who matter. Dewey was instrumental in getting both Nixon and later HW Bush the attention of the party elite. How much history did he change without being POTUS?
