I read about a study that said the best thing to do after a trauma is to play a game like Tetris. The focus of the mind helps block the trauma from settling in. I think things like ping pong and even redundant video games help like you say. In college I had a sega genesis and would play NHL 94, Madden, and Sonic between study breaks. Well… between the time I should have been studying. Gives you time to reset and think.

All the “patriots” I know who talk that way have type 2 diabetes.

What bothered me about it was the lazy suggestion that Hinch and staff didn’t think to use video analysis on a hitter. That all it took was a few stick figure diagrams and look how stupid the Tigers are. sometimes the player just sucks.

Verlander should have won the Cy Young in 2016 but some voters were hung up on 22 wins for Porcello. I don't remember him complaining about mechanics but I do remember him... questioning maybe the medical staff for his injuy a few years prior.

I don't think there will be. We might see some half assed attempts at 'caravans' like they tried in DC or a dozen show up here or there but we have competent people in charge now who will be prepared.

All this talk about riots and such… part of me says “bring it on”. Let all the ants and maggots get out with their stupid Glasden flags and cosplay. Start some shit in the streets where it won’t be a few dozen Capitol police officers. Draw them out and squash them out of existence. Then we cleanup and get back to a normal country.

Yeah it must have been that fall or early winter. I was in 8th grade.

Totally. In 1986 I walked into our Sunday School classroom and on the walls were posters they got from the neighborhood Harmony House of various rock stars and we got the lesson about how evil and satanic they were. Bon Jovi. Dokken. Ozzy. Steve Winwood-yes, Steve Freaking Winwood!. The Steve Winwood stands out for me because the photo was from his album cover at the time and he looked just like one of the youth leaders, I thought it was him. Be careful of those "Roll with it" lyrics. there's a hidden meaning there.

Jared was a federal employee. As was his wife. Their personal relationship to the president is not germaine to the situation.

So we can stop building things when we have empty things sitting around being empty? Corporate office space is so open now but yeah let’s build more of it.

Is too much information being a available a bad thing? The instantaneous action and reaction makes us thing something is there that isn’t there. All these yahoos with their apps reading stuff. It’s like being in a fantasy league where you can trade players by the minute instead of weekly.

Speaking of emails remember the one where Tucker was kissing Hunters ass and wanted to get together soon?

I don’t understand any of this. Last month I seem to recall the market doing well because “investors” liked Powell saying he was going to raise rates. Now they don’t. The paradox that inflation is bad so when trying to curb inflation then that’s bad too. What is the solution? Is the thought that raising rates won’t help inflation? What would “investors” like us to do? What would happen if everyone just chilled out and quit buying and selling for awhile? Just sit on your shit and be content for the time being. I guess I don’t have that gene where I think and worry about money all the time. I’m fortunate that I don’t have to I guess. I’m not rich but I don’t want for anything. I just don’t sweat the small stuff. I have my investments and I let them do all the work. That’s what they get paid for.

Hunter is bad news for Trump. The more you see and hear his name the worse the situation is for Donnie.

I was just thinking the other day if Flynt were still around I bet he’d have taken down all of these hypocrites in the GOP today. He’d have Epstein’s stuff out there.

Yeah don’t. This is season 2. Season 1 was very different. They got heat for being too overtly liberal so Peggy Noonan came on as a writer. Enjoy the ride. Just a warning that things got weird when Sorkin left and at the time I didn’t care for it but when I rewatched the later few seasons with the new election it was better than I remembered. Just hang tight until Alda and Smits show up.

Last week we were in the car and Brothers in Arms came on and I prompted me to watch that sequence of episodes over the weekend. Might be the best 4-5 episode run of any series ever. Oliver Platt is great.

Yes. Yes. Yes. Or poker games. Or golf games. The only time it's relevant is if it relates to something else. For example my season ticket buddy had Lions seats for years, going back to the 80's. He finally gave them up a few years ago. This year he got them again. He told me about this back in June. Flash forward to July and I bring it up again and he says "Yeah but dude... I bet on that guy to win the British Open.... total luck pick" That paid for his seats. He will ask me at games to check other scores b/c we can't see the scoreboard from our seats. He bets about $100 a day and claims to be up overall a few grand since he started. He quit smoking during the pandemic after 2 heart attacks so he spends that money on bets.
