  1. Wouldn’t it be obvious to anyone to look at an underperforming player’s swing from when they were performing to notice differences? So that tells me either their analysis is flawed or their communication is flawed… or they are stupid to not even check(which I don’t think is true). I guess another alternative is the player just not listening at the time. Let’s see what he’s doing in 3 weeks.
  2. I cannot see Trump ever endorsing a candidate for an office he wants.
  3. Wow. She created the ad herself. This election needs to be about abortion rights. Force the issue. Make them say stupid shit like this.
  4. Blame the girl
  5. Sadly there were many times from 1992-1994 where I was in a car full of shit faced people who just ate McDonald's by the bridge and made our way back through customs. I was on the bridge in a backup when Mike Tyson bit Evander's ear off. I found out about it next to a group in a limo. Our friends had mutual bachelor/bachelorette parties in Windsor.
  6. Yes. All documents are property of the government. That was put into effect after Nixon. When you go to a presidential library for research the papers you look at belong to the archives. Once they review everything they will let the respective libraries have some. That’s what happened to the 33 million that Obama “took”.
  7. no. They're a bunch of pansies.
  8. how soon before some elected GOP person says we need to rethink women voting? Or raising the age to 25? Or maybe one vote per household with the Man taking priority of course?
  9. On the Rewatchables Podcast for Goodfellas one of the guys makes a good point... "so who the hell was Moe Black that we needed to know Fat Andy was his brother? Why not There was Fat Andy?"
  10. ah, I see. I can understand that.
  11. What do you mean? He was the Braves manager in 82 and 83 and the Cards manager in 1993 when they won the stated number of games.
  12. They also forcibly removed black communities to get out of the way in Baltimore, Detroit, San Francisco, along with other cities. Just look at what the new Gordie Howe Bridge went through in just one neighborhood. That was in the 50's and 60's when the country was less developed. It was an obvious need as air travel wasn't common and you had a growing nation getting used to having automobiles and they wanted to go places. Commerce needed it's space too. The need was there.
  13. In order to get high speed rail you'd have to build it. You'd have eminent domain issues to build the rail. Then you'd need demand to justify it. High speed cannot use existing freight train rails, not just because of right of way issues, but those were not designed for high speed, just like you couldn't go 200 mph on today's freeways if they were opened up. The banks and curves are not built for that.
  14. There was a passenger train service to Windsor from Detroit.
  15. There's also the issue of time. A passenger rail is fine but how long would it take? You can't just speed up when you feel like it b/c of the turns.
  16. I wouldn't refer to Torre as a "complete failure". He won 88 and 89 with the Braves and 87 with the Cards.
  17. To me a retread is a guy who's bounces from team to team. The negative side to me is that they appear to be lazy hires and a buddy network thing. It was a thing in the NBA in the 80's and 90's when black guys were trying to become coaches yet it seemed every opening went to some white guy who got fired from another team after 2 or 3 years. "Blacks aren't ready to be coaches yet!"
  18. The abortion issue could save democracy.
  19. I’ve said before that I think we will have a case where a woman in her mid 40’s with teenage kids will become the face of the movement when forced to carry on with an at risk pregnancy with tragic results. Too many pro lifers think this is about “trashy women” who want consequence free sex. Shameful.
  20. FYI Passports belong to the government anyway. They are technically their property.
  21. Upper class people were early adopters or automobiles! They’re typically early adopters of everything arent they? We didn’t have a microwave until 1990. Mom still doesn’t have a dishwasher.
  22. I was 13 and coming back from Phoenix the next day. That plane was going to Phoenix so it was all over the news there. Flying for the first time, by myself. Since they didn’t know the reason yet in a precursor to today they wouldn’t let my older sister, who I went to visit, past security without a ticket. She talked her way in since it was my first time and I was a minor. We flew over the wreckage. one of the cleanup guys in our old building was a medic also in med school at the time and worked the scene. A co worker friend knew him as his dad owned an ambulance company. I was told It messed him up so bad he dropped out of school and 25 years later he’s washing dishes and mopping floors in an office building.
  23. Ford announced that hike 8 days ago and only applies to anyone who has yet to place an order or reservation. Tesla increased their prices a few months ago.
