The first time I got it I didn’t know what it was. Because of my job I can tell my salesman to just shoot me a vin and I can do all the work myself in regards to features and such. I’m driving it home and I thought the car died on me after 7 miles on the odometer.

It’s not really stopped. The severity is degraded to the point that people are not being hospitalized to the levels they were before. So people have accepted the risk of being sick for a few days to resume a normal life. But reported case numbers in MI are still in the ~1500 a day range and have been for a long time. And we still have people dying from it. But for the most part we have reached the “it’s like the flu” that people were trying to say in March 2020.

I just don’t see that a pollster gains by putting out a poll that they manipulated. They make their living by being accurate. Doesn’t mean they will be but the point is they won’t make an effort to be inaccurate just to frame a narrative. I think the “flooding” angle is just grasping at a positive that’s not there.

Maybe. But then your time as an owner is constantly spent finding and training people and then worrying if they will show up. Have a stable staff then maybe you can focus on expansion.

My old company was owned by several founders and it was a family type business with some big long term goals. Those long term goals meant we would often do things for our major customer on the cheap. Our goal wasn't to treat everything as it's own profit center but instead strategic. It worked out. The founders cashed out then the company became a slave to private equity. I later got a job with that major customer and am much better off myself. But the old company got swallowed up by someone else again and it's so much different now beyond being on the other side of the table.

If I ran a business that's how I would do it, if I could afford to at least. There's value in less stress. Isn't the first thing you need for success employees? Keep them happy and you remove a barrier. Have quality people and take care of them and you can focus on other things instead of who's going to show up today or next week or month.

But isn't the reason for these decisions you cite the whole point of this thread? Everyone wants a better investment. More money, a better return..... that's how you get it. By squeezing every last 1/4 point you can out of the stock or bond, whatever it takes.

I think walker is just a puppet. Oz has an agenda for personal grift so he'll go whichever the way the favorable winds are going. He's loaded so he shouldn't be beholden to anyone. Like Trump he just saw the opening required an R so he went with it. Probably has very little core political beliefs other than what sells.

My fear along with R's winning is also a situation where R's lead same day results but as in 2020 when mail/absentee votes come in the trend changes and then you start to get the whining from the pols and pundits that "something is wrong" and we see protests and riots like what happened at Cobo.

I've noticed that with Pink Floyd songs I appreciate them more when they are covered by someone else. I think I've heard their work too much on the radio for as long as I can remember. Maybe it's their style too. Perfect example is Van Morrison and Comfortably Numb.

After the 2000 census I suddenly went from Dingell to Conyers in my district. I had no idea until the ballot box. I always voted for Dingell and was happy to do so even in my previous political life. After I looked it up and they carved out a small area in my neighborhood for Conyers. It went back after 2010. Now I am represented by Rashida since MI lost a seat. Debbie Dingell moved to Ann Arbor to compete in that district after she and her husband and father in law represented that district since luke the 30’s I think.

I think hiring Harris, and before that Hinch, tells me Ilitch won’t be a cheapskate. Will be be like his dad and go ape shit? No. And I wouldn’t ask that as a fan. I’m now convinced he doesn’t want to just ride this org as a cash cow with as little risk and effort as possible. I think they will be payroll competitive. That doesn’t mean they have to be in the conversation for every big name free agent.
