  1. The pool boys too.
  2. I don't know what happened with Boardwalk Empire in terms of planned seasons or whatever but thats another show that went haywire in my mind. I don't remember enough to know when but at the time I remember feeling like they boxed themselves in. Of course that was omething Vince Gillian and team did to themselves intentionally but brilliantly found ways aroudn it.
  3. woke DEI weather
  4. Never trust someone with 2 first names. Serial Killers always have 3 names. But it's refreshing to see someone admit to rape during a hearing. Isn't he the guy that wanted to fight the Secret Service Director. Dude has some issues.
  5. So we can conclude that Mullin is a rapist?
  6. When Hunter Biden is nominated for SecDefense you will have a valid point.
  7. “We just got back from red lobster”.
  8. I would say that life isn’t fair sometimes and we should be empathetic to what trans people go thru. Part of being an athlete and competitor is having to go up against people with advantages over you. Many of those are not the result of hard work and practice, etc but because of genes and biology and perhaps coming from a family that can provide better nutrition and training. That’s part of life lessons. I didn’t play basketball for my middle school but my friends did and they had to play against Chris Webber who was at least 6’5” and looked 20 years old when we were 12 and 13 and maybe 5’9” and chubby with leftover baby fat. Is that more fair than if our girls squad had to play against a trans person who could have had physical advantages? Why does gender alone make it ok? when I hear parents scream about this issue it makes me curious to know how they feel about participation trophies because their beef sounds very similar. They want to pave the way for their baby girls to make things as easy as possible.
  9. A solution in search of a problem which is the GOP way.
  10. Shades of Mike Gundy. Flashback to my Jim Rome listening days and giggling in my cubicle.
  11. Well said. After the 2012 election someone said the Romney campaign, and the GOP, was Mad Men set in what was then the Modern Family present. I think that was true and 12 years later we are in Archie’s world.
  12. But Archie had his moments too. He’d mispronounce words and mix things up. After all it was a comedy not a Sorkin-esque drama. I should have said Archie was a punchline not the punchline. That said I can’t say I was a prodigious watcher. I was born in ‘73. My dad was more of a Fred Sanford guy. A lot of what I know is from books and that CNN documentary series.
  13. If you are ready to move on from that then don't claim to love your country because it was an attack on the country.
  14. My barber is a female and has season tickets. Her son is in sports so she had to sell theirs but she's not that upset. Paid for quite a bit of her invoice for next season.
  15. he's the no class President and the GOP is the no class party. No class. No elegance. No grace. No dignity. No curiosity. Just pure trash. They are the ashtray of politics.
  16. To clarify, I don't care how much they spend per se.... I just am tired of dead contracts. I don't want them in a position where money prevents them from doing something they would have liked to do in 2029 because they are stuck paying $30M for a guy not contributing. If they paid $50M for a guy doing well and making the team better... I don't care.
  17. these are just fans doing a podcast... not much different than what we all do here day in and day out. They have a microphone and camera and headsets. When you have to fill up an hour, especially in January.... what the hell else are you going to talk about? I couldn't fill 10 minutes. I'm with chas... I don't care if they sign anybody. I'm also ok if they sign Bregman but only if the story is "How did they get him for that little?"
  18. I have this memory of years ago of every time something bad happend Brad Stuart was involved.... I feel the same way about Jeff Petry.
  19. that doesn't seem like normal course of business.... it's a shame to put us in a position to feel sympathy for them but the law is the law and everybody should get treated fairly by the government when prosecuting a case. I don't know what all the regulations and rules are but that doesn't seen like someting you are supposed to do. Prosecutors are political figures at the county level.
  20. ****ing Ron Desantis said similar things when he was in the House.
  21. I'm fully expecting to have to do my shopping around next year. Glad my **** renewed already for 2025. My previous insurer tried to pass off a 50% premium increase on my house from 2023-2024. Tip: If you have any older relatives help them out with their car and home insurance in terms of pricing around. My mother in law had AAA her whole life. She just assumed she was getting "the best" deal because she gets it through her Catholic Credit Union. We saved her $75 a month this year by making a few phone calls on her behalf. She's not a dummy. But the way things work now is intimidating with all the apps and logins etc. She gets flustered.
  22. I think All in the Family could still get made today. Archie was the punchline. It was written liberals. You can quibble whether it would be on broadcast TV rather than a cable network but Fox shows Family Guy. But the 70's had a lot of shows that tackled issues that we take for granted today, like women in the work force, divorce, etc. It's not that we aren't allowed to make those shows today it's that we don't need them as much and the media landscape changed so much that our nightly shows don't serve that kind of purpose anymore.
