  1. I was trying to remember the last Republican I voted for... Maybe Rick Snyder in 2014. I don't remember what I did in the GOP primary or whatever Michigan did in 2016.
  2. He looked like a guy off the street would... or to be blunt, a minor leaguer. If you go to enough ML games and then go to a AA game, you notice that stuff. We are used to the crispness and speed. I always wondered what would happen if you took a random Division 1 Outfielder and threw them in an ML outfield. I mean... it's just a fly ball right? All I can share from my experience is getting to be on Comerica Park's field for batting practice (our batting practice, not the Tigers, I got to attend a sponsor event and take some swings and play catch and whatever in the OF) and when you are out there shagging balls... it's a big field. I thought, "Ok, I'm going to pretend to be a player". I played HS baseball, was pretty good if I must say, I played in an adult hardball league after, I played softball after that... but it was different out there. And I can only imagine how different with ML pitchers and hitters doing their thing.
  3. ah, another old girlfriend we go up against. Robbie Ray is like Kim Basinger.... came in hot, had some ups and downs, restarted again and won an Oscar. There's drama there but damn it would have been fun to be on that ride with her.
  4. Not defending him but Al Kaline of all people used to say that line drives/hard hit balls hit right at an OF are the hardest plays. You are like an infielder at that point with little time to react. Do you go in, out, left ,right, dive, smother? In his case he made the right call at that point in the game but was just not athletic or skillful enough to make the play.
  5. I don’t see that happening at all. I’m more worried about shenanigans at the more local levels. Some Fox News absorbing wacko not certifying the election because they “heard something”. But I also think that risk is low. Harris is going to wipe her ass with Trump and he will finally get his punishment. Losing to not only a woman, but a black woman, will be something he thinks about on his death bed.
  6. Good. I hope they send him out. Then he will get blamed for losing the election and will be another Trump casualty that sold his soul and ended up in a ditch.
  7. Maybe they are thinking they can dump Trump now and when they can’t, that will be “the cheating”.
  8. Someone I worked with wasn't a baseball fan. When Moneyball came out he came up to me to tell me he saw it and liked it. He too didn't know there were two Billy Bean(e)s. But he had heard of Bean from a thing on the news once. So he assumed Moneyball was about him. When I told him the truth he looked puzzled... because if you have seen Moneyball and think of it that way it could make sense. His sense of isolation and being different from the others as a gay man transcended into the front office and the methods to run a team... the story about his ex wife and their daughter and they still had a cordial relationship, like that was the reason they split up and she supported him.
  9. Only posting because despite all of his recent flaws, Nate still has good taste in hats.
  10. Yet I have "Impartial" vets on my feed barking up because Walz retired two months before deployment orders.
  11. I think they are just not very smart or good at this. What worked the previous 2 times isn't working anymore. 2016 was 8 years ago. People are bored with that now. I've said this before but Harris is a great position that's unique. Both an incumbent and a fresh face. The nation was prepped for a boring rematch of two old white guys that showed and spoke their age and regression. Now you have a something else. It's a breath of fresh air to most of the country. That has left Trump's people scrambling as they have to change everything. They are stuck with Vance.
  12. I thought of that last night when watching.... of course that one was a game winning HR. Grady Sizemore was on his way.
  13. Are police allowed to be at campaign events in uniform like that?
  14. There’s a lot of truth to this sentiment and why I think she’s going to win easily. Shes’ not going to flip any votes but will attract non voters. People are tired of the former guy.
  15. It took Republicans 70 years to get here but when Ike was running in 1952 the party faced this fork in the road and he beat back Taft in the primary and shaped the party for Nixon and Reagan later on.
  16. I believe in theory that this country is better with two strong parties but as a former GOP voter.... they had multiple chances to purge Trump and chose not to. After Access Hollywood, After the first impeachment, after Jan 6, after the 2nd impeachment.... All they would have had to do was sacrifice one Biden presidency. If they had gotten together and turned their back on him and his voters I believe right now one of them would be leading in the polls if they played it right. Things were always cyclical in our politics.
  17. I wouldn't put it past them to try some garbage then when denied, use that as an excuse to go after Harris/Walz in court since "they did the same thing". It isn't about things being technically on par with each other or equal... just plant a seed in enough people's heads so that Fox can talk about it and you can get enough election "certifiers" to refuse to do their job because they heard about some issues.
  18. I sitll think of this:
  19. I saw Miller at Tiger Stadium when he was with the O's. Getting a hot dog. He was dressed like a clown. I say that in a good way.
  20. Following up on that...
